We had crisp halloumi, spiced aubergine with minced lamb, chilli peppered squid, pork belly and chips, a lovely crisp Pinot Grigio (my friend's a white drinker) and a couple of liqueur coffees. All this for £30 a head including a tip. The staff were efficient, attentive and charming. Young and energised, I loved the way all the front of house staff presented one table with a birthday dessert and sang with evident delight to the guest. We were served in the cafe by an older lady with grey hair who was SO moody! She refused my American credit card because it required signing not chip and pin as she was used to, and proceeded to make our English friends pay for the food and drinks with an English card. I'm not sure if this is even legal? The food, the drinks and the waitress who delivered our food was much nicer of an experience, but the grey haired waitress taking our order needs some serious help!
