I think that you can never go wrong with Thai food. But there is Thai and there is Thai food. This…read moreis Thai super food! The restaurant exists for about 5 years and it had become very popular. And for a good reason! Inside the atmosphere is great. Very colourful. When the temperature is great, you can sit outside on the terrace. But even if you sit inside with the great weather, the big windows are open, so it feels like you're outside. The list of cocktails and green teas is long. The menu is divided in different stages. They have a lunch, an after work and a diner menu. The restaurant is open almost the whole day. Very pleasant if you are like me and you have to get up at a rediculous time. You choose a dish and than decide if you would like to have it with tofu, chicken, beef etc. It tastes so good! I was there with a colleague and we shared the starters mix platter. We had saté, spring rolls, a kind of dim sum and a salad in rice paper. As a main I had a red cocoscurry with lots of vegetables and chicken. It was a bit spicy, bit not too much. The taste was wonderful and I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Nuremberg!

The interior reminded me of a cafeteria, modern style, yet cold with greenish brown color furniture. Very long table in the center and a fish tank with a bar at the entrance area. It appeared as if it was just recently opened or renovated. But it was comfy nevertheless. They offer various sushi meals and Vietnamese kitchen. They have a happy hour deal starting at 6pm-8pm for a special menue either sushi or Vietnamese and some long drings are also offered during the happy hour. I ordered a Caipirinha and the drink was fantastic. Not that watered down shit I had at many places during happy hour. The drink was well made and contained the right amount of alcohol. For appetizers I ordered Fall rolls with veggies and beef wrapped in what appeared as plastic but was actually made of rice, with two different sauces to dip the roll in. Fantastic stuff, the rolls were big and the dip was very tasty. The veggies appeared fresh and the whole thing tasted really good. The dish was served cold which surprised me because I expected a warm appetizer just like a regular Spring roll. I forgot what I had for main dish but it was duck with lots of veggies and mushrooms and a small bowl of rice. The food was not over spiced and the veggies were not over done and soggy. It was truly prepared according to my own taste and it tasted really good. To finish up the meal I had another of those great Caipirinhas and we left the place with a full but happy stomach. After the last bad dinner experience at Vapiano this was a way better dining experience and definately worth a try.

Such a welcome surprise to find a Thai restaurant that doesn't insist on serving yet more mediocre…read moreversions of Red/Yellow/Green curry with a choice of meat or tofu. The menu is brief. Noodles in broth, a salad with rice as the base, and sticky rice with or without fruit. Vegan versions of the noodles and salad are printed on the menu, so you don't have to ask for ingredients to be left out. I'm vegetarian and I like the peace of mind of not having to request that the fish sauce be left out, and then hoping to hell that the cook actually remembered doing that. Presentation is plain in keeping with the idea of this being Thai street food, but this does not take away from the quality of the food in any way. I ordered the rice salad dish, and every bite was flavorful. I could have done with a little more lime juice and chilli (rectified by adding spice powder and the vegan version of fish sauce) but that's an individual preference. I really appreciate the vegan version of the chilli fish sauce. Smelling the latter from any closer than two table-lengths away usually does appreciable harm to my appetite, and I like that the vegan sauce is in jars clearly labeled as such. Not a big fan of the seating arrangements here. The tables are low, and the chairs are upholstered in the hideous "vintage" style revival that is all the rage in Germany, a good many years after it died the miserable death that it deserves elsewhere. Not only do the chairs look terrible, they also are not very comfortable to sit in, which is yet another feature of these abominations. I appreciate mid-Century pieces and Danish Modern furniture just as much if not more than your average bearded hipster claims to, but most of this bottom-feeder crap that finds its way into cheap restaurants and cafés needs to be burnt whenever the crematorium's having a slow day. Well, apart for the rant above, Regenzeit is promising, and I'll be back there for more lunches.

The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet but we were unable to give it a try the staff informed us in a rather unfriendly manner, that they're closing it in 10 minutes and there's no way we can use this option even though there was plenty of food waiting on the burner. We were sorta surprised, but hey, we ordered a la carte. The food was decent but not great. To sum up: the food did not blow our mind, the price was standard, but the waiter looked like he wanted us and the rest of the patrons gone, ASAP. He threw the cutlery on our table instead of placing it next to the plate and did not answer when we said goodbye. I would understand if he were tired after the entire day of work but we arrived at the restaurant at 1:45 PM. No cookie points.

I've been wanting to try out Mongolian buffet for years now, and thankfully I finally got the chance to do so! The restaurant itself opened just recently, and the interieur is stunning. You have small alcoves and plenty of statues, plants and dividers everywhere - so, although the restaurant is huge, you never get the feeling of having too many people sitting around you. There is the possibility of ordering á la carte, but we chose to try out the buffet and it was most definitely the right decision! The buffet is basically divided into 4 smaller buffet areas: - starters/cold food/salad bar/sushi - normal asian buffet (plenty of warm, pre-cooked dishes including your usual duck, veggies, chicken etc.) - Mongolian grill (raw meat, fish, seafood & veggies) - dessert buffet (all kinds of fruit, cakes, pudding, a chocolate fountain, ice cream etc.) I was most curious about the Mongolian grill part: You pick the raw ingredients you want and then chose a sauce to go with it. You leave that next to the grill with a clip on the plate that is labelled with your table number. The raw ingredients are then turned into your very own freshly prepared meal and served to you at your table a couple minutes later. The quality of those ingredients was great, and the choice was rather exotic as well. You could try kangaroo and crocodile, parrotfisch and clams, mini-lobsters and various other things. You can basically eat as much as you like and as many courses as you wish, all for a ridiculously cheap 15,90€ (dinner buffet - the price for the lunch buffet is even cheaper). Considering the huge variety and the high quality of the food, this is a fair deal! Bottom line: * Great new restaurant with lovely design * A huge buffet that has about everything you could wish for * Mongolian grill - you get to pick your own ingredients for your individual dish * Low price, high quality and huge variety * Try the crocodile...chicken + fish...no kidding! * Will definitely come back here!!
