I mentioned that I was experiencing back pain and he offered to write me a muscle relaxant prescription. I should have known I would be charged a separate "back consultation" fee for bringing it up during this visit. I was dissatisfied with the clinic in that they didn't tell me it was anything other than a wellness visit (which is paid for by my insurance provider). I was later charged for a back consultation, which took me by surprise. Other than this, I've had a fine experience with this clinic. In general, I think the healthcare industry needs to be more transparent with consumers. It's also important that we as consumers make it known that we want transparency by asking for the full details and costs of every service to make sure we know what we're getting into.

To start off with, I should tell you that I had suffered from severe back pain from a herniated lower disc in my back from a snowboarding injury from 15 years ago. For all those years my back pain persisted and I tried just about everything short of major surgery. My research in possible treatment options led me to Dr. Bill Cimikoski. I had a back treatment by Dr. Cimikoski and I had excellent results. But one important note is that I didn't get much improvement after the first treatment... So naturally, I was a little skeptical and concerned. Dr. Bill told me that about half the time he has to follow up the first treatment that he does, (which is with Stem Cells and PRP) with one or two treatments with PRP alone. The follow-up treatment did cost me another $700, and I will admit I was a bit apprehensive, but it was only after the second treatment that I started noticing improvement. I am so happy I did not stop after the first treatment as I would have had a very different attitude and a different result. I might have even left a bad review. I'm so glad I stayed with his treatment suggestions and did not give up hope after the first try. For me and my personal experience, after all these years and trying so many things that did not work, Dr. Bill and his treatments have made my life so much better. I am back to my old self with my back feeling great again and I am no longer living with back pain. We had great snow this winter and it was the first time in so many years that I got to really enjoy lots of ski days and without back pain. I found Dr. Bill and his staff to be kind, knowledgeable and friendly, and they always took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. The Doctor even gave me his personal cell phone number to call him anytime, even nights or weekends, if something came up or I had any questions or concerns. I have never had a doctor give out his cell phone number. Pretty cool. Because of my experience with Dr. Cimikoski, I have been happy to recommend him and his office and I will continue to do so. I called the morning of my appointment and was explicitly told they had received my most recent bloodwork. When I arrived, they did not have my labs. Despite this, the NP had already formed her opinions before reviewing anything. Was rude and arrogant, told me my brain fog was simply due to old age and didn't bother to ask about any other symptoms and that my testosterone level of 167 ng/dL -- which my lab flagged as clinically low, was not a concern. She recommended DHEA as an alternative to TRT with no discussion of my history or symptom pattern whatsoever. When I raised concerns, the NP accused me of trying to skirt protocols, protocols I had never objected to and was fully prepared to follow. I ultimately had to pull up my own lab results on my phone, screenshot them, and email them to the office myself during the appointment just to have my records present. I left without a meaningful evaluation or treatment plan despite planning a week ahead, confirming my records were received, and coming fully prepared with documented symptoms and specific health goals. I was dismissed, blamed for their administrative failure, and made to feel like a problem rather than a patient. I would strongly encourage anyone seeking men's health or hormone evaluation to find a provider who will actually review your records before drawing conclusions.

My new insurance provider did not cover my particular type of BC on their list of preventatives (which per the Affordable Care Act, preventatives are covered without copayment), but Dr. Faircloth ensured me that she would get it figured out as I told her other BCs gave me problems. They submitted the scrip to my pharmacy who said it was being charged at $25. I called my insurance who said my doctor needed to file an appeal that it was for preventative purposes vs for treatment of other medical issues, and it would be covered at no cost. I let Dr. Faircloth's office know that, but I received a call from her nurse saying that they said they would only get it covered, and it's not their problem that it's not being filled as a preventative and they can't do anything (other than suggesting that I switch health insurance providers??? Which thanks for the great suggestion, my employer only gave me one option). So my option is find some doctor who is willing to put in the legwork or pay $300/yr to not get pregnant.
