While I posed many questions, I received answers. I was made aware of what to expect due to the health condition of my loved one. I honored the timeline accordingly and ensured our play list was provided to allow ample time to coordinate. Submission of his clothing and meeting Damian who assured me the fit will work. Issuance of payment was as agreed and I was previously contacted of the arrival of the death certificate. The viewing was on time and our LO body exceeded our expectation. The Limo driver arrived prior to our agreed upon time & advised of his presence only - There was no rush just letting his presence known. The family was greeted upon arrival and escorted to the Chapel and we maintained to timing schedule. The compassion of each person our family engaged with was the perfect experience. Ms. Glenda - Thank you for your upfront knowledge you shared and providing resources, Ms. DaZha - Your customer service traits are beyond exemplary and I am grateful (Text messages, timely responses, calls answered, hugs and more-so being the listener), Cherise - Although behind the scene, you were truly on point with our play list and adapted to our requested change immediately, Damian - You made his clothing look perfect!. McConnell,  Blaise Collins and Precious K. Owens. They all were absolutely fantastic and truly went above and beyond for my family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. On Friday, August 1st, my mother passed away. As you can imagine, my sister, father, and I were devastated. Losing a loved one is never easy, and in the midst of our grief, we were faced with the overwhelming responsibilities of planning her viewing and funeral. It was an emotional and exhausting time, and like any grieving family, we wanted everything to be perfect to honor her memory. From the moment we connected with  your team everything was perfect especially when we were introduced to Melanie, we knew we were in caring and capable hands. She was not only professional and attentive but also compassionate in a way that truly comforted us. She guided us through every detail with patience and understanding and never made us feel rushed, always ensuring that we felt supported and heard. What stood out most was Melanie's personal touch and genuine care. She didn't treat us like just another family planning a service but she treated us like her own family member.  She anticipated all of our needs before we even expressed them, offered solutions when we felt overwhelmed, and consistently communicated with clarity and warmth. Her calm presence gave us peace of mind when we needed it most. Melanie's attention to details and extremely quick communication responses were extraordinary. From assisting us with all of our questions to ensuring every element of the viewing and funeral was handled flawlessly, she left nothing to chance. She provided us security and kindness that we so desperately needed during this most trying time in our lives. She even went the extra mile to make sure everything was ready ahead of time down to the video's we planned to display during my mother service.  She  lifting a huge weight off our shoulders. Because of her dedication, we were able to focus on saying goodbye to our mother rather than worrying about logistics. This experience has reminded me of the profound impact of true professionalism combined with genuine care, comfort and compassion. Melanie exemplifies what it means to provide world class service with heart, and Lee Funeral Home should be proud to have her on their team.  I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to share a few words about Blaise Collins and Precious K. Owens. These wonderful ladies welcomed my entire family with open arms, ensuring that in every interaction we felt the warmth, kindness, and genuine care that seem to be hallmarks of Lee Funeral Home. Even beyond the funeral home, Precious showed her heart for once recognizing me in public, she greeted me with a warm smile and kindly asked about my family during this difficult time. Coming here is like a safe haven from the noise of life. My grandmother is buried here, as are two uncles. They're near each other, so it's zen to come with flowers, maybe even a blanket to sit on, and just mellow out for 20 minutes. There are peacocks that live on the grounds, which both fascinate yet confuse me (I didn't think peacocks could live in this climate?). The only downside is that I wish their hours were later in the Winter, but I know that they have to consider the shorter daytime hours.

What a Class Act…read more... I was referred to Strickland's Funeral Services by a family member as I was preparing arrangements for my father, who became gravely ill. I read the reviews and became skeptical. However, I decided to give this business a try. I drove to the facility, and I was blown away by the building and the upkeep of the structure, grounds, and fleet of vehicles. Without an appointment, I was greeted and offered quality service from the staff and the owner Mr. Strickland. Although I was "window shopping" because my father was still alive, Mr. Strickland did not pressure me into using any or all of his services. --This place was almost too good to be true. Several days later, my father passed, and I took my mom to meet the staff and to view the facility, and she had the same vibes I had. I made the arrangements, and they took it from there (casket, embalming, and ceremony, and burial arrangements). On the day of the viewing, I was able to compare pictures of my father on his last day to that which was displayed in front of me, and it looked exactly like him. The embalmer did a fantastic job! --While I was advised to purchase an oversized casket, I did my research and ultimately decided to get it. While viewing the body, I inspected the entire casket, and there was no way my father would have fit in a regular-sized casket because this was a perfect fit (I read otherwise in the reviews, and I feel it is a case-by-case matter). On the day of the funeral, when I tell you these folks were the definition of excellent. Everything met or exceeded my expectations of a homegoing service. I have no regrets in my decision to use Strickland's. I HIGHLY recommend their services!

COVID has made the military funerals a crazy process, That said, Mary was very creative and we had a beautiful civilian memorial service with MILITARY HONORS, cremation and then placing his remains at Arlington cemetery when the military is available.
