I needed mums to replant my gardens and large pots, so I ran down to the corner, Bridge In Season…read moreCorner that is. Better known as Bridge's to the locals, this is a seasonal outdoor nursery which is open Spring throughout the Fall. I have numerous nurseries in my area and feel compelled to divide my business between them, since they are all family owned and they all offer a nice selection of quality grown plants, shrubs and trees, plus very friendly service. Some offer more in the way of ornamental plants, larger hanging baskets and lawn decorations. Bridge's also supports the local farmers by selling their corn and some other produce for them. We have a squirrel feeder and we try to keep it full at all times so they leave the birds food alone. At the end of the Fall season they allow hubby to come down and pick all the leftover corn from the unsold stalks. I have been slowly cleaning out my flower beds and I love to plant mums here and there for the season. This is the second generation of running this business and they have grown to provide more and more services. They now deliver truckloads of varied mulch or stone at a reasonable price. I like to buy my mums here because they are field grown, they often will come back the next year because they have good strong roots, plus I am then supporting the farmer's and Bridge's. I decorate everything all year long and if you stand still long enough, I will decorate you too, just ask hubby.

Bob came over to help and ended up spending literal hours with me mapping out a plan and ensuring that my planting project would be successful. Stony Hill Perennial Farm had every single plant I was interested in; the selection was top notch. Bob was able to see my vision and made suggestions for different plants I'd never heard of that he thought would take it to the next level. I've been to other plant centers/nurseries and never have I felt more confident in my purchase than I did with Bob. I am a lifetime customer. On to planting!

Brian, the owner, was so helpful in listening to exactly what I needed. Although he didn't have any succulents in stock yet, he promised to call me as soon as he got some in. And man, did he deliver! The succulents he brought into the shop were the healthiest, brightest, most beautiful ones I had ever seen (even after living in California)! Not only was the quality better than the succulent selection at Lowe's, Home Depot, and local nurseries, the PRICE was so good! I attached some photos of the favors I made with the plants, so any bridal parties, brides, wedding planners, or someone looking to add some green to their living space can see the quality AND bargain they'll get by going to C J Cook's.

It's a bit on the smaller side, but it has more than you'd think and a pretty large shrub/roses area along the back. The biggest reason I like this place is because it has things I can't find other places. When all I can find anywhere else is Phlox, they've got Mountain Pinks, when I can't find Poppies anywhere at all... they've got two different sizes to choose from and plenty to go around. While every other place seems to still be trying to sell their spring annuals Slifko's has a great variety of some of my favorite summer perennials. Lupine, Delphinium, Fox Glove, Columbines, and plenty of other stuff. I like being able to buy plants like that before they're already blooming so I get the full extent of their blooming period.
