If I could rate a zero I would. This business is truly bias towards certain clients. They decided…read moreto update their building and added a code lock to the front door. These women did not notify me of the change nor share the code with me. As I and my ex are divorced we share custody and he mostly picks up our children. This day I got to pick up my daughter and discover not only is the door locked, they didn't give me the code and didn't not answer the door as I rung the bell. I had been sitting out side for a bit and had a chance to see other parents use the code and go right in. However I rang the bell and waited outside like a criminal as my child was brought to the door. Unlike the other parents that went straight in and had immediate access to their children. The next day for drop off I again noticed all the parents seemed to have codes. I then texted and called my ex asking for the code, he refused. So I waited for a nice parent to come along to open the door for myself and my children. The older kids wanted to drop in and say hello. This week I'm talking to my 4 year old who attends the horrible place and tells me that her teachers did not like the snack I packed her last week. She said they claimed it was unhealthy and she said she felt bad but wanted to eat her food anyway. First off these women have taken their bias/racism too far. To be little parents in front of four years old child is a low down scummy thing to do. These people have my number if anything they could have called me and asked me not to send her with nutrí grain bars, cereal bars, graham crackers and the Minute Maid juice box. But to make a child feel bad in any way let alone about her food is atrocious and not tolerated. I've received my children from this place multiple times in which they had candy, fruit snacks and junk. So clearly there aren't strict dietary guidelines nor are any of these people offering meals to these preschoolers. Bottom line is if there is something to be said about a child's parent, call the parent. Feel free to reach out in fact but the slanderous talk to my children will not be permissible. I'm sure many can agree with that sentiment. Avoid this place if you have any sense.

Let me respond to the complaint of racism. Check my picture and you will see that I am a POC and my…read morechildren are beautiful POC as well. We started with Just Kid'n Around when it was a daycare at the start of the pandemic when my normal daycare shutdown. And we followed to the new preschool. I feel that there is much more diversity represented in the daycare compared to the actual population. My kids have aged out and are now in school but we will be back for breaks and the summer! We were there this summer and we were notified of the need to quarantine as soon as the health department notified the facility. From March of 2020 until June of 2021, not only did we not have to quarantine but my kids had fewer illnesses than our previous daycare exponentially. The staff have always worn masks. I don't understand this complaint of marks. I will never forget the comment my pediatrician made at one of our well visits when she saw bruises on their legs: "I see these boys are very active". Kids play, kids get hurt, and unless it is a true injury, staff might not notice a scratch. If my children reported being scratched or otherwise mistreated by staff, that's one thing, but from everyday playing? My ringing endorsement is that this daycare, and then preschool, came through when I was in a jam and took care of my kids well. They still ask about Miss Melissa, Miss Stacey, and Miss Jen. Communication has been great, when I perceived an unpleasant experience with a new staff member, I spoke with Miss Melissa and the staff member addressed my concerns and we learned it was a misunderstanding. From them on experiences with that staff member were great. I am a very present and involved parent and I wouldn't leave my most precious beings in a bad situation.

my infant daughter was with brenda for a few very short months. Its taken me time to even collect…read moremy thoughts to write this because i was soooo distraught over the entire situation. We first met brenda. Everything was great her home was nice and clean and she seemed nice and orderly. Everything was fine for the first few weeks. Until i had to ask her to stop using baby powder on my child because she was coming home caked in it. To which brenda obliged my request. Within the 3 mos my child attended this daycare brenda took at least 4 unexpected days off. Sick, family emergency, etc. and i get it. Shes got a life too. But a little unprofessional to tell us your good to go the next day and then get a text at 6am going nope closed today. Also she kept changing her policies to a contract we had signed with her. The biggest for us being the payment method. At first she stated she accepted cards. Thats how we paid our start up fees (though this was not written in our signed contract). Well then she decides shes going to charge extra for cards because they charge her a percentage. Okkkay. Then she dosent take cards at all. Disappointing, that was convenient for us but whatever. So dad usually dropped her off in the am so sometimes he would forget to write out a check. So he would get cash at the bank during the day and pay her before the end of business day as her contract states. Never once did we miss or were late on a payment. Then she demands to have payments only in the morning during dropoff via group text with all the parents. I responded with simple question as to why the policy change and i get this lovely message from this very "nice" woman whos watching my firstborn and only child: "Yes, the reason is because because I deposit all my checks in Friday evening and it takes 2 days to clear my business account. If I deposit Friday morning I get paid Saturday. That's the way my bank works. So in reality I don't get paid until Tuesday every week! That's not fair to me at all!!!! How would you like it if your suppose to be paid on Friday and it takes until Tuesday for your boss to pay you!! That's why I will be paid on Friday mornings, it's only fair to me. If I'm not paid in the morning, their will be a late fee of $50.00 dollars. It's my business and I have guidelines that Parents should follow!! I don't ask for much expect my payments be on time!!!! If it's a problem theirs other childcare's you can go too!" Less than an hour after that i get this: "Unfortunately, it has been a blessing watching Ellieanna. I think it's probably best that today will be her last day of care. Thank you, Brenda's Family Childcare " For ABSOLUTELY no reason other than the fact that I questioned her policy changes in a contract that i had signed. She drops my child. Its the middle of the day and im just supposed to sit at work and let my child finish her day? I think not. We got her out of there asap and will NEVER recommend this two faced businesses owner. Shes literally ruined my childcare experience for life.

As parents, we stayed involved and had several meetings to find a solution for our oldest, but nothing seemed to work. Low and behold, he is off to Kindergarten and getting nothing but rave reviews. We enjoyed the afternoon care people. I can say for certain, teacher Cathy was an absolute joy. However, the director is a bit harsh. On a couple of occasions my wife and I got there without our presence being known and heard some very harsh tones used even on very small children.. the demeanor seemed to disappear when we made ourselves known. Unfortunately, the education aspect seems to lack. The field trips were fun for the kids, however, our youngest is in a much more structured preschool and the difference is so noticeable. BUT, the price can NOT be beat. 2 children, 3 days a week, from 7 am till 6pm was 576, where now we pay for 3 full days for 1 child at 450. If you are on a tight tight budget, the pre school is not bad.. but, it truly just depends on what you're looking for, and what you're willing to let slide.
