At both private events and public performances, Morgiana engages audience members with her bright personality and clever interpretations of both traditional Middle Eastern music, as well as contemporary American fare. (Her knack for improvisation with the latter is impressive.) Her performances are all-ages appropriate, and she seems to have a natural rapport with kids. I've watched very shy small children get up and dance with her, to the point of not wanting to go back to their seats. Another strength is Morgiana's ability to work well with other dancers. When the spot closed (ages ago, unfortunately) and the sculpture remained, I decided to find out more about it. It turned out it had nothing to do with that museum and instead is intended to honor the musical legacy of Pittsburgh. I love the quirky style and oversized nature of the sculpture. It is a perfect spot for a photo, but the space behind it is private property, so be aware of that when looking at it.

I was walking down Liberty Avenue in the Cultural District, and I did not expect to see this…read morebeautiful and fun art: the Liberty Avenue Musicians! In 2003, artist James Simon built these three 15-foot jazz musicians and dog. He sculpted them in clay and cast them in concrete. They pay homage to the city's musical legacy. They are in front of a courtyard and private residence, so a sign warns visitors to not walk past the sculptures and block the entryway. I spent only seconds of time here and snapped a quick photo. I recommend walking past when you are in the area.

THey are first class SCHMOOZERS. Much of their business is older people who are easily swindled. THeir contract is very one sided, long and tedious. My advice is NOT to pay for any dance lessons up front---NEVER. WHY would you? All this does is give them leverage. THEY are not honest. They are greedy and will try to stonewall all of your questions. If you die, move, break a leg--YOU are screwed with them. They just want your money up front to pay commissions. They are deceitful. Read other reviews on line of MARIO Cardinali the owner. He doesnt care anything about his or his companies reputation. He just wants your MONEY and has enemies in at least 2 surrounding states..... Beware too of their elaborate prices . You can get world class skiing or private lessons in concert piano for cheaper. The teachers, instructors play into the Aurthur murray silly formula, checking off your progress and achievements however small.. You are treated like a first grader and given extraordinary compliments to butter you up. All I can say is GO ELSEWHERE, dont step foot in here.The building is stale and workers not world class for the amount they are charging. Authur Murray studios are franchised. A number of our neighbors take their children here and I'd heard positive things, so I signed her up. She LOVES it, and practices her plies all week. She's done gymnastics, martial arts and soccer at the JCC and hasn't taken to anything like she's taken to this. Holly, who teaches the class is just wonderful with the kids. Her teaching is totally appropriate for their level and the class is so much fun to watch. We also met the owner elsewhere in town, and liked her as well - very friendly and warm. The only issue I have is with the online registration, which is confusing, lengthy and frustrating. It's also the only option - you can't sign up on location. There is no confirmation that you are in the class - you just give them your credit card and show up and hope for the best. I would love to see this fixed. I really can't justify docking them a star for this though, because it's just a small detail.

A partner is not required, people are pretty friendly about dancing with someone new. The dance steps are easy to learn and fun. They sell beer, and it is reasonably priced. This is a fun way to spend a Saturday night. The annual Mardi Gras dance is a blast and not to be missed.
