An admissions team member came out and basically gave us the tour on a map while outlining our walk. Seriously. She spent a solid 30-45 minutes with us and gave us food for thought (comparing TCU and SMU). Campus folks were friendly too as we were wandering. Very impressed by libraries, museums, and construction on the business school.

Southern Methodist University is such a gorgeous campus!…read more I went to visit the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, which happens to be a part of this campus. I had missed turning into the parking lot across from the museum and went around the block. I'm so glad that I did. After my visit to the museum, I did a quick tour of the campus before heading out for lunch. I love the wide pathways as you move from one building to the next. The architecture is beautiful and stunning. I loved the status of horses and Blanton Student Services Building. I am always inspired when I set foot on any campus. I will always be a student at heart, but I need to put my money towards my food love for now instead of a PhD! (23)

Subject: Request for an Independent Investigation Regarding My Experience at Texas A&M University…read moreCollege of Dentistry To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to respectfully request an independent investigation into my experience as a patient at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas. I sought treatment at the clinic because I believed a university dental clinic would provide quality care at a more affordable cost. Instead, after multiple appointments and a lengthy evaluation process, I was presented with a treatment plan exceeding $17,000. I also paid approximately $800 for dental X-rays. My concern is not only about the cost. During the exams. I believe my dental infection became worse, and when I tried to express my concerns and request assistance, I felt that no one was willing to listen. I met with two managers to explain my experience. An interpreter was present, but I do not believe my concerns were accurately translated or fully communicated. I remained calm and respectful throughout the meeting. I never raised my voice or behaved aggressively. However, before I was given a fair opportunity to explain my concerns, I was escorted out of the building by a security guard. Being removed in this manner was deeply humiliating and emotionally distressing. I felt dismissed instead of being treated with dignity and respect. I am not writing this letter out of anger or revenge. My sincere hope is that my experience will be reviewed so that no other patient experiences the same treatment. Every patient deserves to be heard respectfully, especially when raising concerns about their care. I respectfully ask that your office conduct an independent review of my case, including the way my complaint was handled, the communication process during the meeting, and the decision to remove me from the facility before allowing me to fully explain my concerns.

I started my training at DTS in August of 1993. I had my wife and four children in tow and I was 33…read moreyears old. I had felt called clearly to full time ministry, And so I left my job as an engineer with the Air Force, and with the blessing of our home church and with my wife in agreement we headed for Texas from upstate NY. The seminary was very helpful with finding housing, providing food and other things when needed through an outreach program on the campus. Each semester that I returned to the campus I had tears in my eyes I was so thankful to be there. I often called the professor's "pastors" because that was the heart that they had. I'm not saying it was easy working a part time job teaching preschoolers in day care centers spread all over the metroplex, a janitor at Schofield Memorial Church, and Managing a subway shop and West Fort Worth, and driving an old car from Arlington to Dallas every other day and during summers. But it was a great blessing I will not forget. The Lord led me to use my life and training from DTS at a Christian prep school in Arlington 6 years, as a caregiver at a home for paraplegic and quadriplegic young men, as a youth minister in a Korean church in Irving, and an Asian church in Sugar Land near Houston, at a small church in Lake Placid New York, and another small church in Shirley MA for five years. My last 15 years of "service" were in a school for at risk teens in Euless TX, and here I felt the Lord grow me more than I both deserved and could imagine to help and be blessed by these young people looking who were just looking for a second chance in life. In closing I'll say that DTS not only had great professors, but the curriculum guaranteed that you got to go through every book of the Bible before you graduated. 2 Timothy 4:2

In a time when many theological institutions and seminaries find themselves drifting from the truth…read moreof God's word, Dallas Theological Seminary stands steadfast. It remains anchored in the belief that God's word is not only inspired, but infallible, and inerrant in every part. That's a conviction that doesn't waver, and it's one we should cherish. I can tell you personally, I have never regretted a single day at Dallas Seminary. It equipped me, not only with my Master's and Doctorate degrees, but with a deep and lasting foundation. The curriculum is outstanding, yes--but what truly leaves an impression is the community: the faculty, the staff, the students. These are people who invest in you, who walk alongside you. I made friendships that have lasted a lifetime--people I still speak with today. The professors? They weren't just teaching; they were shepherding me through. They pushed me, challenged me, drove me to reach for that next level. The work was hard, no question about it--but the results, they speak for themselves. If you have the opportunity to study here, take it. You won't regret it. As Dallas Seminary reaches its 100th year, I pray that if another hundred years should pass, this great institution--one that teaches the value of grace, the love of God, and a deep commitment to teaching His word with theological accuracy--will continue to stand strong. Because institutions like this one, they aren't just about education. They're about ensuring that the truth endures.
