STORY-TIME: There is a Caucasian woman about 5'9, brown hair, with blonde highlights. She says she…read moreis The part owner. She is rude, a racist and lied on me to save face. Today I rented a studio room for two hours for myself and my children. Myself and my children walked through the front door without a problem. Got through 1 hour and 53 minutes of our session and was interrupted by this woman. She opened the door and looked at me. I looked at her and said "oh hi, is our session over?" that's when she began to make disrespectful comments. Telling me, they didn't know my kids were with me. That my kids could not play on the mats or use the bars. She said that they had been watching us on the cameras the entire time. She was looking at me with a frown and talking in a voice, which was very demeaning, as if I had done something wrong. She also insinuated that I "knew" that I wasn't supposed to have been there with my children. Mind you, It's a children's dance studio..... None of that was disclosed before renting the studio room, nor during nearly the entire session. I told my children to pack our things up. We are ending our session 7 minutes early, which I was not refunded for. As my children are packing, I walk out. I thought she was having a bad day, so I say to her, that I'm not a rude or disrespectful person. If there's something we needed to talk about that would be fine we can as adults. She then raised her voice and me and told me that I was disrespecting her studio by bringing my children there. I let her have my opinion on her behavior and her actions and I would never rent from her again. Upon leaving i see she was with a woman who appears to be a mixed race, who's also with a group of Black people in purple shirts. I waited for them to come out. I then informed the woman the truth about what she did. She then lied and told the woman that she told me it was "a safety hazard" and she also lied saying "I harassed her in the hallway." She had to change her story because she was wrong from the beginning! Protect your peace and know your rights! This was completely wrong!

In my opinion, first impressions are everything. My initial experience with this school was so bad…read morethat I immediately picked up my daughter and enrolled her elsewhere. Scenario: I registered my daughter ahead time (twice). I received notification that she was registered and ready to go well before the first day of school. I am also signed up and receiving text messages for drop off for the first day of school. Everything seems fine! I drop my daughter off the first day and get a call an hour later that the registrar never enrolled her because they want a utility bill or deed as proof of residency, not the W2 or my driver's license that I already provided. Additionally, she is sitting in the office since she is not enrolled. The registrar also claimed she sent me an email the Friday before school starts explaining this. This disturbed me for a few reasons: (1) I never received an email from the registrar. I checked my email all weekend and after the call from the office on Monday. No email was sent. Additionally, I asked them to verify the email address the registrar sent it to and my request was ignored. (2) When I arrived at the school my daughter was not in the office but sitting in the hallway where anyone could walk in and take her away. (3) When I entered the office to inquire about the situation, the registrar didn't even speak to me, she sent a representative back and forth. (4) No flexibility was provided on the registrar's part to allow my daughter to at least attend class for the day while I get her the EXACT document she wanted. There are many alternative solutions that could have taken place to (1) make sure my daughter stayed in a safe place and (2) make sure she could attend class on the first day (at least). No concern was given to accommodate. Thus, I walked out with my child (which no one noticed nor has followed up on. For all they know the child was sitting there and then she wasn't.) If you have other options, I highly recommend sending your child somewhere else. At every school, the adults are the role models and in this case these are not the people I want to have influencing my child in an academic setting. She is now enrolled somewhere else.

I learned about this school at a Juneteenth event this year, 2023. I was excited about this…read moreprogram for my son. We were looking for something like this for him. I'll try and keep this as short as possible. So, I scheduled myself to make the "Parent Informational", but I missed it due to getting caught up at work. I didn't understand why they had it during work hours anyway, but whatever. I called them to attend the next one, she asked me what time I wanted to come I told her 3pm. After hanging up with her I realized I needed to change the time, but no one would answer. I called back to back and someone would pick up the phone and then hang it up. decided to attend anyway at an earlier time, just to see if I could. My first impression is was that the campus desperately needed some TLC. It looks abandon, but l decided to look past that and went in anyway. A lady asked me what I needed through a speaker before letting me in. 2nd bad impression. When I got in there the lady was waving her arms at me with disgust, like I was supposed to know where to go. It was not clear where the front desk was to be honest. So I get in there, I see a lady with her shoulders out and full of tattoos, I mean a whole sleeve of tattoos on her arm and a halter romper. I'm not saying she looked bad, just not the look for a professional setting. I looked past that. I told her I arrived early that I was scheduled for 3, but no one answered the phone when I tried calling to rescheduled. Her replay was "well is here all last week", my thoughts were oh, you were the one hanging up on me. Anyway, She has no record of me. She asks if I had my children with me and I'm like no. She tells me it was mandatory that they come too. I know they wanted the child to come, but my son as at daycare and I needed to get back to work, it was going to be so hard to drop him back off to daycare. Thank goodness I didn't pick him for this. What was the reason for the child to come anyway...took see if they have a certain look? I was so disappointed. I just left, never to return. I wonder if the founder that spoke at the event about this school is aware because if not she needs to be.
