I ordered several tacos and they didn't give me any salsa. When I asked for salsa, she looked confused, so I asked if they had salsa with the tacos and she said no. It's like getting a hot dog without mustard. Disappointing but I can't return it. I am not going back, as other places give salsa with the tacos. The open kitchen seemed messy and unorganized which defeats the purpose of an open kitchen. read more

The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. The store is clean inviting

Okay, I got a veggie burrito, and it was fine. I asked for a glass of water and was refused, told I had to buy a drink. The Board of Health requires a restaurant to offer tap water upon request. An employee was sitting in the dining area the entire time I was there, and she was on a loud video call. Some people moved and were visibly annoyed. I found it annoying too. Do yourself a favor, and don't put this place on your must-visit list. read more

Texas Taco - Table - Tex-Mex Near Me - Sayville, New York

I have been wanting to try Texas Taco as I pass it multiple times going to town. I ordered a few items to see what the menu had to offer. I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed. They did prepare the food fast, it was Friday at 6:15 pm, and it only took about 15 mins before I had the food in hand and left. Beef Empanada Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla Fire Island Tacos (lime shrimp) Deer Park Tacos (steak) Middle of the road on all of it. It's not a knock, the food is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would pick this up more as a quick lunch than an actual dinner next time. read more

South of the border food has moved northeast to Sayville Village. Texas Taco has a great takeout, never thought of eating there, but what ever I ordered was hot and fresh. Friendly service just adds to their appeal. Ciao for now. read more

I'm not sure where people get off using the term "great" for this dump; if you are one of those freaks who are deathly afraid of flavor than this place may be just bland enough for you. The brisket taco tastes like they rinsed the flavor off and put it in a shell. I mean none of the basic tacos I've had are amazing... the chicken tastes like it's boiled and even the pico and cheese has little flavor. On a positive note, I stopped in on taco Tuesday where the chicken and beef tacos were just two bux (I hope they aren't much more in a normal day) All three tacos I got were plentiful but as previously stated, light on flavor. The beef had a decent flavor and I'd pick one of those up in a pinch for two bux but I can't say I'd make my way into Sayville for them, I'd rather drive down the road into bayport and hit avocados where three tacos and a drink go for less money and satisfy the palate a bit more. read more

LET'S PLAY A GAME....name that VEGETABLE: My husband's response "is that seaweed?" My sister's response "green beans? Not natural" My mother's response "nothing I would eat!" I ordered vegetarian fajitas tonight and came home to find these crispy burnt green peppers as my meal. I'm not even sure how the person preparing the food consciously added this to the dish. I was beyond perplexed. Besides the burnt peppers, the cross contamination here is real. Tonight is the third and final time I've found meat in my vegetarian dish. I say third and final time, because I won't be coming back to support this business. I should have cut my losses the first time, but it's slim pickings around here on a Monday night. read more

Texas Taco - Vegetarian Fajitas come with....burnt green peppers as the star of the show. - Tex-Mex Near Me - Sayville, New York

The food here is FRESH and GOOD!! The owner Anthony was there when my friend and I went in today. He's the nicest guy. Very passionate about his business and it shows. We got some tacos, empanadas and a taco salad. Everything was well seasoned and you could taste how fresh the ingredients were. I would recommend this place ten times over read more

The girl cashier is super rude! My husband called in our order and specifically asked for a chicken and cheese quesadilla due to my allergies! When he arrived at the place to pick up the girl was super rude! When I opened my food I took a bit and my daughter said wait there is more than chicken and cheese. Come to find out there were jalapeños on it amongst other ingredients I was unsure of. I called the immediately and spoke with her and told her we specifically ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla due to my allergies and she said "well that what you got" I said do you want me to take photos? I told her I needed to know what was on it and she said well what are you allergic to and wouldn't tell me what else was on it. I ask when the manager would be available. I also asked what her name was and she said "you don't need to know" DO NOT give this place any business AWFUL!! read more

So I liked the food but I had 2 go out 2 find a bathroom as staff would not let me use theirs. I came right from a long commute. I wasn't thrilled about that. ***update: I gave them another chance and found a hair in my burrito so no....not going back again...yikes!! read more

I called in to order ahead so I didn't have to wait once I got there. I wanted two burritos with the contents of the texas taco. The clerk on the phone pretended to be unable to hear me when I described this simple request 3 times, and then hung up. When I got to there, I saw the clerk who I spoke with over the phone; I knew it was him once he spoke, because of his voice. I proceeded to attempt to order two burritos with the contents of the texas taco. He tried to tell me it couldn't be done. I explained it was done for me 3-4 months ago by another clerk, so what changed? He then looked down at his iPad and started looking for it. I asked him if he could simply do a custom burrito and I will read him the contents. He got loud with me and told me I have to calm down. There was nothing not calm about my expression or words, I was polite throughout my entire sour experience, so I took offense to this. If there was anyone in that exchange not calm, it was the clerk. When I was paying, I asked if the place charges a fee for credit card transactions, to which the clerk responded "Yes we charge a fee at X%, everyone charges X%." But this was a lie, and the guy already annoyed me, so I calmly and politely corrected him, explaining that because I am a sales director I understand the fees vary depending on the merchant service provider and gateway processing provider. I've seen much lower fees elsewhere. On top of all this, I ended up waiting 20 minutes for my burrito instead of 0 minutes, paid $16 each, and they made it with overcooked, dry, and tasteless steak and shrimp instead of pulled pork. I was absolutely shocked with the way I was treated. I never provoked anyone, never made fun of the clerk for his lazy eye, his lack of intelligence, or his absence of decency. Probably should have just brought the burritos back and made him choke on them, at least there would have been something to enjoy from the time and the $36 wasted. read more

I ordered tacos on two occasions when company was coming and I didn't feel like cooking. Both times the food was awesome and the people who work there are so pleasant! Our favorites are the brisket taco and shrimp tacos, but today we tried the steak taco with onions and it did not disappoint. The chicken tacos are good too when we want a change as well as the cheese quesadillas. Their chips and guacamole are awesome. Next up for us to try are the burritos! The staff are very accommodating with special requests, add on and take offs. I highly recommend as it's a local gem! read more

If I could give this review a zero, I would. I am beyond upset with this restaurant, but especially the owner. My family has been coming here for a while, but after this experience I will never go near that establishment again. The owner of the restaurant was racist and rude towards my father which is ironic because he works with other spanish people. He made my father feel like crap. He gave my dad an attitude right away and my dad wanted to use the restroom first. The owner said that my dad had to pay first. okay fair, but then my dad asked the other worker in spanish who the guy was (the owner) and the owner turned around and said "you are talking to me, why are you talking to him?". after my dad said he didn't want to give them business. The owner ran after my dad and filmed him as he drove away. I don't care who you are, but that is not how you treat a customer. That was uncalled for and you sir need to check yourself. I hope you read this review and understand that what you did was not right. you should be ashamed of yourself. p.s. my father wasn't the only one who had a bad experience with this man. another close person that i know had a bad experience with him, but thankfully not the extent of what this guy has done to my father. read more

I don't know why I paid almost $17 for a burrito bowl and a small fountain soda. Could it be that it took 45 mins and two people to make it? (Min wage is $11/he after all). I mean there isn't much to "make" it's a bowl so you kind of just scoop the food previously prepared into the bowl. The food was pretty blah and certainly not $17 worth. rice and beans were a bit undercooked and he steak was like rocks. Won't be returning. read more

Very, Very Disappointing. I was excited to see Texas Taco on Uber Eats. It was Cinco de Mayo, and, ya know, I figured this was a great option. Well then the food came. I ordered the skirt steak fajita. What I received was really a deconstructed burrito. There was not enough meat to make one single fajita, but plenty of rice and beans, earth to Texas Taco, a fajita is not comprised of primarily rice and beans like your burrito. The meat was so over cooked it was like tiny cubes of shoe leather. Maybe the worst meal I have ordered anywhere, at anytime. I called the place and wanted a refund but they would not do it. With several options in the local area this may be the worst. Your move to make, and I know everyone has their own opinion, but they ruined my cinco de mayo vibe, but it was revived by wife's margarita! read more

I always order the tacos, I've tried the chicken and the beef, both with everything that come with it on top. The chicken was a tad dry but the beef is BOMB. Great prices too and their staff is always very polite. Usually I get two beef tacos and I'm nice and full. They have good drinks offered too, they have all fountain sodas but also have the soda brand 'Hal's' there , the ginger ale is my fav. And they have natural iced tea that's made and packaged in the island which is cool, the half and half was really good. Overall, really good $3 tacos read more

We came in looking for something light for lunch. Glad we stopped by! I had the Sayville trio tacos. The meat was fresh - as was all the ingredients- and the food tasted good! The only drawback is there is no menu hanging up. You have to pick up the paper menu and look. Ok - that's probably more of a personal hang up than a drawback. If you're in the Sayville area and looking for a nice taco/ Mexican lunch, stop by. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

I would give this half a star if I could. I watched the guy make a burrito for someone and use a tablespoon of chicken for the whole burrito, a literal tablespoon of chicken. Aside from that I asked for double chicken on two separate occasions and received 2 oz of chicken both times. I would never go to this place a third time. Avacado's Mexican Grill on Lakeland is 10 times better. Portions are bigger and they actually give you what you ask for. read more

Quality of food has gone down dramatically since I first started going here. The past two times I have gone, the meat has been overly dry, almost leather consistency. At first I thought it was just the brisket (which is my go to order), but I've found out also the steak and chicken seems to be really dry as well. It's no longer moist, tender, and fresh like it was when they first opened. I'm not sure if it's new cooks or they've just stopped caring, but definitely not nearly as delicious as they used to be. read more

One of the worst Tex Mex places I been to in a long time. Dismal food at this strip mall joint in Sayville serving up tacos and burritos. Come on Tuesdays and it's Taco Tuesday. Well, it's nothing to get excited over. Chicken taco is dry and completely flavorless with no substance from the pico de gallo or cheese. Also, when you bite into it, there's a ton of clear liquid squirting all over making it wet and gross. The beef fared slightly better. Only problem is that it's so spicy that you can't taste anything else. Again, a ton of liquid which looks like dirty water pours out when you pick it up. My whole lunch was quite unpalatable and couldn't finish because I got grossed out from the liquids oozing all over. Service at the counter is cold and indifferent and luckily it's cheap. Definitely will not come back and recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Yuck. read more

This place has gone way downhill! I ordered through DoorDash, 2 burritos and nachos. The burritos had no cheese the meat was bland and the rice was hard and either undercooked or old. The nachos were a quarter of the size they used to be and the chips were stale like always. I will definitely not spend my money on that garbage again. Steer clear of this place and try somewhere like delfuego or swell taco where they do it right. read more

If your craving a satisfying delicious burrito this is the place to go. I've had my fair share of burritos and I have to say they do it right! I usually go for the brisket or skirt steak burrito enchilada style. (Enchilada style is a burrito smothered in enchilada sauce and shredded cheese. Personal fave right there . Prices are pretty decent for the amount of food you get. Around $10 a burrito. Now while I rave about the burritos let's not forget they serve quesadillas, wings, mini chicken taquitos, taco salad, and more. Mini chicken taquitos is another one I highly recommend. read more

The hamburger quesodilla and the hicksville taco are beyond amazing. Anybody doubting this place has not tried those menu options!

I went here to try it out for lunch. I ordered a shrimp burrito and chili. The women at the counter was too busy talking on the phone when I came in to take my order. She took four to five minutes to recognize me and take my order. When she was done she walked in the back and vanished. Another guy came out and started making my meal. The burrito- was small, not filling, barely seasoned, and very bland Chili- was a water consistency and I couldn't even take a second bite. I honestly would not return here and never recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other places to go locally that serve a better meal for similar pricing. read more
