Stopped in with a larger group while in town for business. The prices were very reasonable for what you receive. We had the appetizer plater which had a great variety of options. Traveling from Omaha to Grand Island for crane watching during migration this spring left us chilled and hangry. After finding many places closed we lucked upon Texas T bone. We had a short wait but they seated us even though we came in shortly before they close. Wait staff greeted us and we had drinks in a snap. I ordered light, my husband a bit heartier. We both had steak, ribeye and fillet, each came with a salad and a side. Salads can be to order, they have a checklist to choose toppings and such. We found everything satisfying. Our server was patient and didn't rush us even though the place was thinning out as they started the closing process. We had a chance to relax in the western themed, warmly lit dining space. Service was quick. The restaurant was packed for a Friday night around 7ish.. we were able to sit at the bar which had about 6 chairs and have a pre-dinner cocktail. We were also able to peek at the menu which has a great variety of steak, chicken , ribs and fish/shrimp to choose from. I grew up in this area and have eaten here in the past when it was in the corner of that strip mall. Doe the second year in a row we are here during fire school and for the second year in a row my food was not good. Steak was again well over cooked. Zero pink to it and even closer to the well done side. My shrimp were good. Not burnt like our last trip. I got a replacement steak in a very short time and it was medium rare, but so thin and still difficult to cut. I ordered a Tbone and expected better. Waitress was very nice. My steak was amazing. This was one of the best meals I have had in Grand Island. I ordered to go and was not disappointed. The 24oz Porterhouse T bone was cooked to medium (perfection) and loaded with flavor. The steak was fresh, so tender and juicy. I also got grilled shrimp, a baked potato and Mac and cheese. Usually sides are nothing to write home about but I was actually impressed by the potato being very large and coarse sea salted on the outside just like I do at home, the Mac and cheese was Cheesy goodness as it should be, and the shrimp were stellar. Seafoods hard the further west of the Mississippi you get, especially it seems in Nebraska, but they actually used tasty shrimps! Last and not pictured, the Dinner rolls. They are epic. They are fresh baked and come with honey butter that you must try. You will devour them like I did before taking a picture! Thanks Texas T Bone! This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We were thinking that steak in Nebraska was a good bet. We ordered the filet dinner for 2. We batted 500. My husbands steak was very good. Mine was inedible. It came out of the kitchen very strangely shaped. Filets are usually cut off a tenderloin and look like a large steak medallion. This one was a lumpy shaped blob. Upon cutting into it, it was completely laced with tough gristle. The manager said "I hate when that happens" but refused to take it off my bill. She said I should at least pay for my sides. That is not the point. I was not able to enjoy the dinner I had ordered. I paid for it, but would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. People can do the right thing and make it so easy. I picked this steakhouse in Grand Island based on past Yelp reviews. The location is in a strip mall and has plenty of parking. The only issue I had was the policy of having to wait for the 2 other people in my party. The greeter would not seat me until everyone in my party arrived. I told him I counted 20 tables and booths that were available, and I would prefer to wait at the table and order a beverage. He claimed it was their policy that everyone be present before they were seated. I then said I changed my seating to a "party of 1" instead of "party of 3". He reluctantly seated me in a booth and then service became much better. The appetizer plate of 4 different types of starter food was about average (mozzarella sticks, onion peals, fried pickles, and prairie popper bites). By then, everyone in my party arrived and we ordered the main entrees. The pulled pork sandwich with baked beans was pretty decent. The ribeye and strip steak ordered was also decent. Service during the meal was good and the server came by several times to refill drinks and check up on us. On the way out, the male server who originally refused to seat me said 'good-bye'. I'm not faulting this young guy; it's just the seating policy makes no sense when the restaurant is hardly filled. read more

We waited 30 minutes after putting in our order just for our waitress Ashley (who was amazing by the way) to tell us they don't have ribs. We put in a new order and waited for 2 hours before we had to go up to the manager and tell him to cancel our order because we walked in at 7 and still didn't have our food by 9. We also live 2 hours away from this restaurant so we had a long way home and thought it would be a quick stop. After telling them we wanted to cancel the two steaks we waited while the other three people we were with finished up their food. Right before we were about to leave our amazing waitress came up to us and told us that the two steaks just got done and they would give them to us in to-go boxes free of charge. We accepted the offer but about 2 minutes later she came back and told us her manager wanted us to pay for half after we sat there for 2 and a half hours. Mixed emotions about the review. Old fashion's are small. Lots of ice. Ordered a rib eye. Sent out a NY strip. I brought this to the sttention of our server. She came back with the steak and said they trim from both ends. What? If i wanted a fattier cut they could do that. Decided to eat what I had and move on. Guys. A rib eye has a cap on it and is oval. I had a rectulangular cut, with a hard line if fat down one side. NY strip. Never have I ever, seen a rectulanger rib eye, with no cap on it, and a hard line of fat on the Ling sude.( did I say NY strip?) It was delicious, but it WAS NOT a rib eye. I came here for dinner with three others around 6:30pm and there were a bunch of people already eating there. We sat at a table and there were peanut shells everywhere on the ground. I guess nobody cleaned those up until later. All three of us wanted some steak so this was a good choice on our end. This restaurant was in a small outlet that had a non-stand alone Burger King which I never saw before. There was a bunch of parking spots left but could definitely fill up. The menu had a lot of selection and everything sounded good to me. I decided on the 15oz Ribeye steak ($23.95) with Mashed Potatoes with brown gravy sauce and Chili. For $2 more, I wanted to add the Burgundy Mushroom sauce but the waitress never heard of that before. She wrote it down but it didn't sound like they knew that was even on the menu. We waited a few minutes before our soup or salad came. The Chili was just okay and I definitely had better chili before. It was still good as an appetizer to fill your stomach with something. The bread provided to us was good but I wanted to save some room for my steak. The 15 oz Ribeye steak came out along with the mashed potatoes. There was no Burgundy Mushroom sauce on my steak but I didn't want to wait for that to be fixed. By itself, the steak was very good in my opinion. I enjoyed it a lot and if there was the Burgundy Mushroom sauce on top, then it might have made it even better. On the other hand, the mashed potatoes were not very good. It had a weird taste to it like it wasn't fresh or it wasn't really potatoes. The gravy was okay but that couldn't save the mashed potatoes to me. Everything was okay at best but the steak was pretty good and that bumped up the rating for me. This place would be great for anybody who loves steak. read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! The chips with the queso had so much grease and salt on them we could not eat them. My steak had lots of salt on it as well. The waitress said I will tell the kitchen and grabbed the ticket with money. Came back and said sorry about the meals while handing us our change. The manager was sitting behind us in a booth talking to a customer and never even got up to talk to us. Worst customer service EVER! One star is even pushing it!!!! But it is the lowest available so I guess. And just an FYI we have eaten here several times before. Not sure what is going on but I will not waste money there again.
