As a "corporate chain" my guess is they are OK. Nothing special, a Dennys with booze and big screens. Football was on TV, but music drowned out the audio, so what's the point?? Food was OK, but nothing to shout about. I was surprised that I was charged $2.50 to substitute veggie for mashed potato...I am diabetic!! It was a leisurely meal and beer for me, so no complaints.. wait staff attentive and efficient. read more

ordered through the app and last time I checked garlic only Parm cheese on there and it was stuck to my to go box not even on my wings. Sat down to eat lunch with my daughter, who is visiting from out of town. Got seated, wasn't offered water. There was barely anyone there. 20 mins go by. Still no water, no service, watched a table across from us get serviced twice. Got up and went next door to Sonics instead. read more

Sat at the bar after driving 500 miles. Bar top was sticky, saw the staff eating a breadstick off of a plate they picked off a table. Behind the bar is extremely dirty. The food was ok but I was cautious eating it after looking around. Keep driving past this one. read more

This might be the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Walking in the host seemed lackluster just walking us to a table gave us menus and left saying nothing. We saw him later talking to another table and eating fry's right off their plates. While sitting and noticing the whole place seemed run down. Our table was sticky and felt old. After 10 min just sitting there we were finally greeted by our obviously new to wating waiter. Not his fault being new but after he had to return to ask us question after question after taking our order we were frustrated. When our meals finally arrived we realized we had no silverware. He had to go get someone to get us forks only. This experience took so long we were almost late to the event we were in town for. The food itself was not good either. My son's chicken sandwich he said seemed as if it sat baking under the warmer light but the bun was rock hand and cold chicken. My husband's fish n chips he only ate one as he was very hungry. My riblets were just terrible and i didn't even eat them .Everyones fry's were cold and just gross tasting. $50 all wasted. We did not have time to hang around to complain as this all took far too long. Just a shame to have wasted money and still be hungry after leaving. read more

So if you like a cold place to eat this is your spot. They don't keep the heater on, apparently it's on a timer and they can't do anything about it. Really didn't enjoy the food or service. The server forgot some of our food and we had to tell them not to charge us for the food we ordered and she only brought out half the dinner order. We had to wait ten minutes just for the rest of our tables dinner. Not really an enjoyable experience unfortunately. We kinda had hoped for better. read more

It's the place you go to in grand island when every other place in town is full durning lunch. Lowest cal offering is salmon at 600! If you want the calories this is your place! Many offerings over 1500-1800 calories! Nothing new here. Same microwaved food since 1995! I fear the worst for them when chic-fil-a opens upon grand island! read more

Got there, place wasn't busy at all, had 10-15 tables open. Sophia (the hostess) with the cane was rude, impolite, and expressed how it was gonna be a 45 minute wait, overall she just needs fired, after our encounter. Got us seated, and she failed to inform the waiter of us being there. Sat for an hour before getting drink orders out in. Another 45 minutes before getting drinks. Ronald (the waiter) needs a raise, so a fantastic job. Music is blaring, way to loud, can't even have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. Watched Sophie get in a fight with multiple different customers, and customers leave solely because of her attitude. Flabbergasted on the rudeness and power trip of this woman. Place was completely out of steaks, bartender is slower than my 96 year old grandmother. Overall, will never be back to dine in this establishment I would rate it 1/2 a star, but it won't let me. Close this place down, and start over with some decent employees. read more

Food took a while and the server unfortunately spilled sauce all over me, my clothes getting ruined. service was okay and ambiance was okay.

food undercooked, whole staff (6-7 people) standing around, half with their past shoulder length hair not pulled back. No one is bussing tables. we've sat next to a dirty table the whole time we were here. they also sit all guests close together when the restaurant is empty. (and over staffed) our server was decent. had to send my steak back as it wasn't cooked how I ordered it. brocco tastes spoiled. I'm typing this as I'm sitting here bc I'm livid. my mom ordered iced tea and it's so watery and tastes old. bad place. i joked about microwaved food (Applebees joke) and it's the last thing that was an issue. At least one server had his hair pulled back. read more

We stood in line for 10 minutes just to get my name on the list... little disheartening due to how many empty tables there were

Absolutely terrible! Several tables open, but still a 30 minute wait. Ordered the quesadilla salad and it came with barely any lettuce and drenched in dressing. Could not eat it. Kids chicken tenders were hard. Disgusting and I'll never go back to an Applebees again! read more

I don't go to Applebees and this is a reminder why. I don't even think there one chip that was an actual chip other than crumb pieces. The pic does not even include the uncooked spinach dip. I guess the 4 mozzarella sticks in the picture was not an actual representation because you only get 3 and 3 pieces of a quesadilla. It appears maybe someone needed a snack and thought maybe we would not notice. read more

Discussing! Ordered 60+ dollars worth of food. I was told it would be done in 40 minutes but we arrived in 30 minutes to pick it because we were close to the restaurant. We waited 10 min because food wasn't quite done and then drove it home. (Approx 4 min away) and immediately began eating. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! Cold and undercooked pizza, nachos cold and soggy as soup. Cold soggy wanton tacos. Onion rings were crispy but cold. Cold wings. The burger was edible but not hot. What in the world was going on those 10 min we waited in the car-side to go lot? Clearly our food had been completed about 10 min after phoned in. And yet we were told to wait 40 min. Even though we arrived early we were told it wasn't done although clearly it had been cooked much earlier. Applebee's needs to halt its car-side to go until it can figure out a way to provide freshly cooked food. Unfortunately this was our first experience with Applebee's after a 3 year hiatus due to quality issues. I had begged my husband to give them a second chance and then this... read more

Passing through and hungry. We should have checked the reviews on Yelp before we stepped foot inside. Ugh! Slow service in spite of the fact that only one table was occupied. Old mashed potatoes - I saw the burn marks from the microwave on the side. Yuck! Dirty cups and silverware. An embarrassment to Applebee's. Steve G, our server was very polite and accommodating - this is only positive comment I can make about this place. Not a good experience! read more

Bad customer service. I got seated pretty fast the girl greeting the door was very nice and welcoming however our sever was not our sever was a girl named Emma she was not nice at all she didn't bother to smile she didn't check up on our table. We waited 20 minutes for drinks. All though the food was good. The environment was not very welcoming just people standing around doing nothing and all gather up at one table, a lot of teenagers just walking around a lot of cussing ( I wouldn't bring my kid here) a lot of drama and overall just not a place I want to eat at again. I think they definitely need new staff better staff at that!!! read more

The food....HORRIBLE!!!! My food came out cold, my beverages were poured into dirty cups, and honestly, I never want to eat there again. The service was good. The waitress was really kind and understanding of our needs and did her best to mend those mistakes. The mood felt very dirty. I showed up to the establishment and the table was dirty.I had to wipe off and clean my own area because it wasn't done right. I was very uncomfortable with the smell that appeared when our food arrived, it smelled like it was way past due, expired even. I DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone looking for something new in Grand Island Ne. read more

I'd give less stars if possible. No staff around to seat us. I walked to th kitchen area to see if there was anyone around. Dirty dishes everywhere. Finally got seated only to wait 10 minutes to place our order. I ordered a salad which was edible. Nothing special. Husband had to send his burger back twice. He ordered it medium well and was very bloody both times. I guess it's time to turn up the microwave. Go elsewhere if in the area. 12-9-22 Ate at the bar around 6pm bartender was CLEARLY drunk. Stumbling. Yelling obsceneties. Couldnt take orders. Make drinks etc. The entire restaurant watched her make a scene. The guy (manager) just watched. A gal, very nice, tattoos on both arms, clearly not a manager, but the only one with any sense in the entire building ended up taking care of us, and many other guests. She was running all over trying to fix the mess made by the bartender. I'm not sure the outcome but that bartender and manager disappeared for nearly 30 minutes while that other gal singlehandedly ran that restaurant! It was an absolute mess!!! It is my hope that the intoxicated bartender does not have a job. But either way, we will not be returning. read more

Stood in line to get seated and waited ten minutes. A server comes up and says it will be about a ten minute wait. We were the only two in line for a table. There were about 20 tables open to sit at. We left and went to eat at Texas T-Bone . Always great service. read more

So I just wanted to leave a review cause I was in your establishment and clearly you can tell the manager was so sick he could barely stand and he looked pale the staff was very concerned the even made him drinks the servers where talking about how they took his card and the bartender was pretty much running the show he clearly should not have been at work today if you all care about your staff this should not be a problem but I applaud him for trying to stick it out you can tell he loves his job and is dedicated to it his staff really had his back tonight and they all should be awarded for what they did for him tonight read more

TL;DR: My friend and I go to eat, only to be accused of theft and have the police search us and find nothing. DON'T EAT AT APPLEBEE'S, AND IF YOU DO, DON'T USE THE RESTROOM!!!!! My friend, Amanda Stafford, and I went to Applebee's Grill & Bar in Grand Island, NE this evening at about 8 pm. When we got there, Amanda told me her drink order and went to the restroom. I ordered our drinks, and when Amanda returned, we ordered our food. We ate and chatted. As we were finishing our entrees, I decided to order some chocolate cake for dessert, and we both began to try get the attention of the servers working. No one would pay us any attention, but we were patient, continuing to attempt to get the attention of anyone employed in the restaurant to either order dessert or bring us our check. It was obvious that people saw us, but they continued talking amongst themselves. After about 20 minutes, I noticed our server at the entrance to the restaurant, accompanied by what appeared to be friends or coworkers in pajamas, and the manager. I said, "oh, look! Maybe there was a reason we were being ignored!! I wonder if someone walked their tab or got fired and has to be escorted out or something!!" Then the two Grand Island Police Officers came to our table and asked us if we knew why they were there to talk to us... We didn't, and we told them so. Then the officers asked amanda if she had been to the restroom, and she stated that she had. We still had no idea what was going on, and at that point the officers told us that a server had left her apron in the restroom and that she and "some other people" had noticed that Amanda was the only customer who went in the restroom. When the server returned for her apron, she reported that the money it contained was missing. They then asked to see Amanda's wallet, because they wanted to make sure that she didn't have the same number of bills in each denomination that the server had reported missing. When we asked repeatedly if what was happening was legal, the officers did not answer, but continued to request to search Amanda's purse and later my personal car. When they were unable to find anything, BECAUSE WE DID NOT TAKE ANYTHING, they returned inside and advised me NOT TO TRY TO LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING!!!!!!!!!! I had been trying to pay and leave at that point for almost an hour!!!!!!!!!! I loudly requested the manager, more than once, and she finally brought our check to our table, giving us the honor of paying $36.80 for an hour of being detained with major embarrassment and unnecessary harassment. Not once did she offer any kind of apology, except to state that she was not the person who called the police. She may not have made the call, but she was certainly front and center making accusations. This situation was poorly handled by the restaurant staff and the police officers who responded. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO APPLEBEE'S. read more

I haven't eaten at Applebee's in a long time and this was my first in a long time. This would be a 1 star review if it wasn't for our server, Ian, and the Manager. When we arrived, we were seated right away. Ian came over took drink orders, gave recommendations and was very nice. We're picky, so we took a bit to order. But this is where the fun times end. We were waiting probably 20 minutes before Ian came over and explained that a system issue caused a delay. We were fine, it was date night. A bit of a delay is ok. I ordered the Unsmothered Fajita and my wife ordered the Chicken Parm. Her order came and it was fine, we didn't like the recipe of the sauce nor the noodles, they tasted weird, just ok, not great. We didn't complain about it as we had already complained about my food which arrived covered in queso which is a type of cheese which I cannot have (I had asked Ian to make sure that it wasn't on there) and someone who wasn't Ian said Queso isn't Cheese, but I still can't have it and it wasn't what I ordered. They gave me a my meal for free since I had to wait so long. Ian was cool tho. Really liked him as a server. I'll probably go back, just not often. Also alcohol drinks there are ridiculously expensive, they use patron, so really it's worth it, but still expensive. read more

Visited today 5/22/2020 for lunch. Ordered through the app on my Iphone. Very easy to order with various selections available for lunch that were appealing to my co-worker and I. When I arrived and "checked in" with the link that was sent to me via text, my order came out within 2 minutes of me arriving, correctly bagged, with the silverware in the bag (I didn't even have to ask for it, and still hot. Everything I ordered was included. I did not get the girls name who came out to give me my order, but she was friendly and came out with a smile on her face. Great service, delicious food! read more

The food was good (for Applebee's). The beer was fine. However, the atmosphere (even by Applebee's standards) sucked and caused me not to linger even though I would've really loved another beer. And before you sign me off as a cranky killjoy, no, I'm not one that thinks you shouldn't have fun at work and enjoy the company of your co-workers. However... Could the staff just rest their jaws? Even for 30 seconds? The entire time I was there, there was non-stop, totally unnecessary, talking, yelling, noises, and childish/unprofessional banter among the staff that was totally unrelated to work. There was nearly constant yelling from the kitchen area. Including (inexplicably), just the name "Linda" over and over in various tones...some sort of inside joke, I'm sure. The restaurant was not busy. The bar was not busy. Yet the entire bar area was full of dirty glassware. Meanwhile, the bartender just sort of wandered around and chit-chatted at her co-workers instead of tending to the mountain of glasses that needed washed (with the exception of the two she washed while she yelled over top of me at a waiter on the other side of the restaurant). In other words, service would be a lot better and the restaurant would be a lot more pleasant place to eat if staff would just STFU and tend to business. read more

Wife and I stopped in for just a snack and a drink before calling it a day. Ordered chips an queso, strawberry shortcake shooter, 2 margaritas. 1st one of the margaritas had at least 1 fruit fly in it. Next we see the bartender eating on the customer side of the bar and going back behind the bar to serve customers without washing hands. I also had to ask for my strawberry shortcake shooter after all else was done as they apparently forgot it. To top it off the charged me for the wrong table and had to ring it up on my card a second time after I was almost out the door. By far the worst visit ever to an Applebee's, I travel a lot and have used Applebee's as a safe constant for dinning. After this my confidence has been shaken. read more
