We are extremely thankful we found Texas swim academy. Our son learned to swim before he could walk! Jamie is an incredible swim instructor and we can never thank her enough for teaching our son to swim. The infant survival program was set up perfectly to teach our son to swim in just a few short weeks. It might sound expensive for private swim lessons but the results are definitely worth the investment. We can relax a little better this summer knowing our 10 month old can swim when we take him to the pool. We are forever thankful to Jamie and the Texas Swim Academy! read more

We go to ms Claudia for my daughter who is 4. We tried other swim lessons but nothing was pushing her. She hated the water. She screamed if her head went under. She is a fish now. People are always amazed by her swimming and it makes us feel more confident around and in water. My 1 year old twins went to ms. Vicky. She was also wonderful. Patient and took to them as they were her own babies! She made them feel secure. During the covid19 pandemic they have made changes to ensure safety of my children and instructors. Can't say enough! I wanted to like this place but unfortunately they only care about getting your kid in and out for the 15 minute appointment and taking your money and make you pay for entire month up front, I assume so that you're stuck once you figure out how awful they are. I took my infant son for ISR classes because we have a family pool and wanted to make sure he had life saving skills. They do not allow you to feed your child for 2 hours before the appointment and will not work with you on an appropriate time slot and for a child who is under a year, not eating and not working with timing is not a great mix. On the first day, the instructor, Claudia, came to get my son to go into the pool. No introduction, no nothing. After he screamed for 10 minutes (because he's clearly hungry) she said one parent could join in the pool next time so my husband did that for two lessons. My son seemed to cry less those times and was starting to ease up. However the next day I received a phone call stating that the instructor told management that a parent had been in the pool with the child two times and that wasn't allowed until the 5th or 6th week. Uh, you told us we could? $30/lesson is not worth watching my son scream because your instructors clearly hate their job. I'm not returning. I am forfeiting the $180. When they were told this, no one asked why, probably because they get this a lot. What a poorly run institution. read more

We love Texas Swim Academy. The facility is clean and the staff are very friendly! We give all the credit to the instructor, Ms. Helen,she is amazing! professional, patient and kind. My 5 years old daughter improved so much in just a few lessons. Helen is pushing her to achieve her best and It's incredible to see my daughter's confidence grow in AND out of the water. My 8 month old is on his last week of training for the infant survival course, and I am so impressed with his progress. Our three year old twins started swim lessons at Texas Swim Academy three weeks ago. After three short weeks, they are swimming completely independently. It's amazing! Claudia and Gabby (their swim instructors) were phenomenal. One of my twins in particular has some sensory issues and hated putting his head under the water. Claudia was so patient with him and helped him overcome his fear. I can't say enough about how effective this swim program is. I recommend it to anyone with children who don't know how to swim or children who could use additional instruction when it comes to strokes, etc. read more

This is very nice concept but its difficult, if not impossible, to get lessions scheduled with the same instructor unless you have the money to pay for lots and lots of lessions for each child (which at $30 for 15min is hard for the average family). Having the same instuctor is vital to having the children progress as it takes time for each instructor to get to know the children. Front desk staff are full of apologizies but are unable to help in most situations. read more

Agree with post below. Having the same teacher for every 15 min swim class for your child is vital to keep their trust with the water. Even then, not all the teachers are good. Watch your child to make sure they have a good fit. We had a great teacher but the substitutes(the days our regular teacher couldn't make it) were bad. One of the substitutes was basically drowning my 1 year old and making her intake so much water with barely no time to catch breaths and patting her back so hard I could hear it from across the room. I was the former general manager of Texas Swim Academy and worked there for about three years. It was an absolute pleasure working for such passionate and hardworking people. TSA is a family owned business that makes sure all of their employees and customers feel part of the family. I loved coming to work everyday because I was part of a wonderful team and most importantly because I knew I was making a difference. I respect that the owners invest in their employees by providing every staff member CPR classes, autism trainings, and thorough teaching trainings. I swam competitively for 6 years and taught lessons but I had to go through the six week training just like everyone else. The qualitiy of the lessons and the design of the program at TSA is truly remarkable because it allows children to practice and learn. No one learns how to ride a bike overnight nor can you expect a child to learn how to swim from attending only once or twice a week. Four days a week might not be ideal for all parents but the life saving skills you are providing for your child is worth the commitment. I wish Texas Swim Academy lots of growth and success! My son has been going here since June and still has yet to learn how to swim. Having a child do lessons for only 15 minutes is a joke. They need more time in the water than that. Also they only have him coming 1 day a week now. That's really not going to do anything for him. Texas swim academy is the cheapest around which i liked rather than 230 some for only one lesson a week at pengu but still I'm paying and not seeing any improvements. My son was traumatized at Texas swim academy at the age of two. They dunked and dunked him as he cried. After a month, he finally started adapting. I saw a couple smiles occasionally. Then they changed instructors on him. They continued dunking him and he threw up multiple times during a fifteen minute lesson. The next lesson, I made certain that the instructor understood my concern. Told her to take it easy with him. She didn't listen, and he was crying and throwing up again. I immediately pulled him from the lesson, and never returned to Texas Swim Academy again. We both left in tears. It took 2 years for my son to agree to swim lessons again. He would cry at the mention of swim lessons. When he did finally agree, we went to Houston Swim Club. I informed them of his past experience. They listened and he did great. read more

Brought my 5 year old son who couldn't swim here and he was swimming across the pool by himself (unassisted) within 1 week! His instructor was Rick and we loved him! The only reason for 4 stars (instead of 5) is because their prices are pretty high and scheduling lessons can be tedious, but all in all, a great experience! read more

My children are 4 and 5 years old. They have been taking swim lessons here since they were 9mo and 22mo old. They have always had 15 minute lessons. Knowing the amount of experience I have with this place I can say that they are very responsive to concerns and helpful in meeting your families particular needs. More importantly they focus on making sure your child can survive if they find themselves in an unfortunate situation in a swimming pool. While this is the most important result of all the swim lessons we have taken here, my children have become excellent, excellent swimmers. My 5 year old is now on our neighborhood swim team and I am blown away by her positive, confident, easy going attitude towards swimming competitively. She is not typically an easy going child so this speaks volumes. She has great swim stroke, kicking and breathing habits that have really flourished in the swim team environment. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting infant/child survival lessons. Once your child can survive in the pool alone (I know scary but necessary.), I suggest staying with it until your child can do the freestyle and backstroke because these instructors know what your child has learned and how they have learned it. STAY AWAY MY daughter goes to Texas swim academy on Saturday noon. On Aug 1st she was not feeling well in the morning so we decided to cancel the class. So we left a VM at 8.00 AM. We did not get any confirmation until 9 am so we called again they told me no VM so they can't cancel the class. We told them about the VM. They told me there is nothing on the system. They asked us proof. So we went to the Texas swim academy and showed them the call history. And then she said sorry we will ask the manager to call you. No calls from manager until next week. So we reminded them about VM. Finally manager called us after 10 days. She was telling the call history was showing 8.36 we can't cancel the class. Even if you are late by a min you can't cancel the class. She was so rude. Hopefully she will close the business very soon. Instructors are good. But these managers and assistant will close the shop. Unless they fire the manager and so called assistant who can't even check the VM. After this review, she cancelled the class saying customer service needs are not met. Be aware that if you write a review she will cancel the class. read more
