We love Pengu Swim School! Our children have been swimming here for years. The instructors and staff are all great.

Hire professional instructors, took my daughter here few years ago and there's this one girl instructor who lifted my daughter a bit out of the water to show her to another instructor she was talking too and said shit and started laughing and mocking my daughter while she was clearly upset and scared while she was in the water and she did that while I was watching through the glass, I waited for them to finish and complained and emailed their District Director Liz and they watched the video of the incident and proved that I wasn't making up stories, they tried to offer free classes but I pulled my daughter out of there. There's no way I would take her back there after what they did & the audacity to still charge us monthly fees for another month or two was not even surprising anymore. read more

I switched from Texas Swim Academy to Pengu about 3 months ago and I am so happy with that decision. Lessons seem more intentional and they offer 30 minute private classes. lifeguards on duty during all swim lessons. clean, kid friendly facility with plenty of changing rooms and restrooms. This place is awful, been coming for almost 6 months and the kids have hardly learned anything they are always sitting against the wall. Waiting on instructors. I do not feel they are teaching proper swim methods so that the kids can learn to swim. I have to give this low of a rating as it involves kiddos but for the money and time we've spent here. Look elsewhere. Waiting one more month as I feel is return on investment 08/12/19. Took almost a month to get a refund as they over billed us twice. This is unacceptable. The Pengu swim school is a great benefit for teaching your little ones how to enjoy the pleasures of being in water safely. They have also helped my daughter to be more disciplined when around bodies of water. The team members have been extremely patient when working with the kids to help them learn the proper techniques of swimming and life saving methods. read more

Impossible to get ahold of. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I enrolled my child in lessons and have spent hours and hours calling on the phone and no one ever answers. My missed classes are never credited correctly for rescheduling, the managers are unwilling to accommodate or apologize. My suggestion? Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. I went in the cancel because I could t get ahold of them unless I drove over there. I canceled and they charged me for another month. I asked for a refund and they refused. I signed up on may 1st, they told me I should've canceled on may 1st if I didn't want to be charged for June. Insanity. this is ridiculous. They care more about keeping my $97 than they do taking good care of their customers. So I'll do my part by letting everyone in my life know- DONT GO TO PENGU UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE CRAP. read more

We haven't attended class here but calling this place to get information was a huge hassle. They need to train the kids that answer the phone because I had to call back a few times to get my questions answered. We decided to skip this place because... Classes start randomly throughout the week & you can't just join a class. I called at the end of April & they only had two classes starting for his age in June & the times & dates were sucky If you sign up for the 2 week long 5 day a week intense class & your kid doesn't like it.. they will NOT refund you or credit your account for another class. They don't have a schedule online Getting this simple information took 2 phone calls, speaking with three different girls & was a pain in the butt. read more

Not worth your kids time and your money. 4 kids to an instructor. The kid to instructor ratio is ridiculous. Which means your kid will get 7.5 min a week if they're lucky, even tho you're paying for 30. They usually also stop the class about 2 minutes before the 30 minutes is up to get out of the pool and clear the area for the next class. So you're looking at a little over 6 minutes of swim lessons a week. Total of 24ish minutes a month. The rest of the time, your kid will just be hanging out on the side lines waiting for their turn. My 4 year old has been attending pengu swim for months and he hasn't learned how to swim much at all bc most of his time goes in just waiting for his turn. read more

I put my son in the beginner one class since he has never had any real experience swimming but they called today and asked if it was ok to put him in the beginner two class since he was advanced enough. My daughter had been in other Swimming Schools before and really PENGU is the best!!! The place is great, clean, excellent customer service and the coaches are professionals. The kids really learn how to swim. Special remark to my daughter's coach Ana: she has been great, creating a good bonding with my daughter, teaching her the different styles and techniques, but at the same time keeping her motivated and learning. We attended lessons here for a while, and things were great, however, within the past few months we have had nothing but issues with the constant turnover in instructors, management changes, and the incident where my child fell off the step and no lifeguard or instructor noticed, thankfully the manager walked out on deck and jumped into the pool with his clothes and shoes on and saved my son from drowning. The lifeguards on duty are NOT CERTIFIED LIFEGUARDS!! None of them have lifeguard certifications, nor do the instructors. Keep that in mind before you allow them to protect your children from drowning. This place should be shut down for negligence. They have recently changed management, and we came in for our lesson and I asked to speak with the manager about my many concerns only to find out that the manager was sleeping on the job. When they woke him up, and he came to talk with us, he reeked of alcohol, and could barely keep his head up or form cohesive sentences. The front desk is very disorganized and chaotic, and no one ever answers the phones when I call nor do they respond to voicemails or emails. I've asked for the owners phone number several times and the owner never called me. We finally left and couldn't be happier at our new swim school. They have certified lifeguards, managers aren't inebriated on the job, and I'm not worried about my child drowning. Please be very cautious of sending your child here or to any of their swim schools. read more

Shaq is AMAZING!! This swim school is excellent, and I highly recommend it. They are doing a great job of adhering to the new normal - social distancing, and all instructors wear masks even in the water. I started taking my 2 year old daughter back recently, and she was very anxious for the first couple of lessons. Shaq is her instructor, and his calm and patient demeanor really helped Harper progress. Now she's more calm and enjoys her class. Such a relief for a parent - especially during these crazy COVID times. Shaq is the guy to use of you have any anxiety about swim class! Thanks Shaq!!! read more

This was our third go at swimming classes over a two-year period and our little one finally came around! The staff is fab, Chandler and Jessica, in particular! The overall enthusiasm of the instructor's is obvious. The kids love it, and if they are hesitant, instructors distract them with fun silly stuff. Highly recommend and worth every cent! This swim school is very bad! Not easy for make up! My son went to the private class but when we canceled all lessons they just can give us group class! It's not make sense! They said I sign the agreement! Yes I signed but I didn't see the clear and it's not fair! I paid $55 for a class! Just one make up, not ten! Amazing instructors and staff. My 4year old loves swimming at Pengu. The trust that the coaches build with the kids enable an environment where the kids feel safe and have fun at the same time. My son refused to put his face in the water in October and now after only two months of being at Pengu he is fetching toys from the bottom of the pool and swimming small distances. He can swim to the edge of a pool and climb out unassisted... I cant praise the coaching staff enough! Coach Matt and Coach Desmond you rock... We love Pengu! read more

We have been swimming here for about a couple of months and although the lobby is clean and very nice the management staff is not helpful at all... it seemed like the front desk woman who helped me was better than any management Anna helped me get the information and times for makeups and made everything so easy the other front desk girls seemed less mature and didn't know much as well I'm so thankful for Anna!.some of the instructors are okay we had makeups with McKenzie and those were good but are so sad to see our favorite instructor leave she was so friendly and loving towards our son knew when to push him and when to hold back he was progressing wonderfully and enjoyed the class very much and looked forward to seeing his favorite teacher we will miss Ellyi although we are no longer coming back because many instructors just seemed to not care and one terrified my child by putting him under the water constantly even though he didn't want to the point that he is afraid of her and hates coming to swim lessons we just decided to cancel the pool is not that clean we would see bugs , bandages floating and when children throw up they don't take the time to clean the pool so the showers after the lesson are a big need. read more

My husband and I just recently started taking our daughter here for swim lessons for the first time (she's 3). We are very pleased with the lessons she is receiving, the instructors are so sweet to her and teach her so much. Everyone that works there that I have come in contact with has been nothing but friendly and helpful. Also, I can't say enough nice things about Jackie. She helped my husband and I get into a class when we first tried to sign up and all classes were full. She has gone above and beyond for us and our little girl from greeting us when she sees us and always making my little girl feel like a princess. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

This is a great location, very clean, most of the instructors we've been through are wonderful, Ms Chandelor is our absolute favorite!! Been seeing her since August 2016. My son has a fit if she's not there and all the replacement instructors have been fabulous, they always make my son laugh. He's NOT an easy student and they always calm him down. The changing rooms are nice and easy to use, I only have one recommendation, to clean underneath the rubber mats in the changing rooms or a better system to dry out the area with dehumidifiers or the such. And extra set of clothing dryers would be great too, there's always a line to have them dried and I have two little kids to keep an eye on haha. Billing is easy and be sure to call in before missing a class in order to get a makeup session. Also, they are VERY prompt, be sure to get there at least 5 minutes early to get your stamp and be in line when they call for you 3 minutes before class time. The play area is pretty nice, replacing some of the toys would be nice, they are obviously used a lot and receive lots of beating up, which is no surprise, but replacing them out would be nice, some pieces are missing and all the toys can't be played with. read more
