I waited outside some more and when the door was opened for me 10 minutes later i went to the counter only to be told by the lady that I was 15 minutes late. It was only 9:12. I tried to explain to her the door was not opening (I even knocked twice) and she completely disregarded what I was telling her which I kind of brushed off maybe she wasn't a morning person. The staff was not nice. seemed like they didn't even wanna be there. There were moments during my eye exam I felt like the doctor was being a bit distant towards me, and I even tried to make a small talk but they just weren't having it. at one point he told me to un cross my legs, which confused me since they weren't in his way, and I thought the main focus was my eyes, not my legs.... it really sucks because I have been coming here since I was a kid and it seems like a lot has changed. no matter how polite I was they just all were very cold towards me.

In 2021 our visit was a 45 charge. 2022 no visit. 2023 the visit was 1169.00 insurance pd 716.00 my husband paid 428.00. 2024 my husband again went for his eye exam again another pair of glasses visit was 1250.00 insurance paid 669.00 he paid 455.00. 2025 one year later again he goes for his yearly eye exam this visit was 1169.00 insurance paid 716.00 and his coat was 453.00 Modo eyewear Modo 4632 she charges 315.00 less insurance he paid 148.00 for glasses. They are 150.00 all over the internet. Sold same frames all three years in a row and doesn't want to put new lenses in old frames because the lenses are flimsy -her comment when I asked. His script from year to year 2021 OD +.50 -.75 OS +.50 -1.00 2022 2023 OD +.75 -.75 OS +.75 -1.25 2024 OD +1.00 -.75 OS +1.00 -1.25 2025 OD +1.00 -.75 OS 1.25 -1.25 Note he is diabetic and has been since 2017 his vision is not perfect, but really three pairs of glasses in three years with such a slight change in prescription!!!?!??! You are the professional you could have said it's not enough of a script change to make it worth while and never did they offer THIS YEAR to use the old frames for the new lenses. She knew he had two extra pair! 2/11/2025 when I reached out and asked questions about the extra 25 charge which sounded completely made up she got an attitude and snapped back if we didn't want the glasses to return them and she will give us our money back. I'm sorry that's a great fix and we are going to be accountable for our choices but let me tell you something she has an attitude if you decide not to buy glasses. She doesn't like to be questioned and her services are not honorable. Whether this is her or her staff it needs to be addressed. This post is long but I just don't want others to get ripped off when they are honestly trying best to just get through the day to day struggles. I like the doctor ok but there are many reasons I won't be back…read more Reasons: Ease of obtaining an appointment - 4 (out of 5) Convenience of location - 5 Knowledge and manner of doctor - 4 Knowledge and manner of techs - 3 Ambience and comfort of office - 2 Making client aware of pertinent info - 1 I made my appointment online and dutifully filled out the many pages of forms, including stating exactly what I was coming in for - "diabetic eye exam, contact lens rx and glasses rx." When I finished the preliminary parts of the exam and went to the main exam room, shortly after getting started he told me he couldn't do all parts of the exam today. I was extremely unhappy about that. We had to take off work for the appointment and he should have read the forms and notified me beforehand that I could not get what I needed in one visit. Not reading the paperwork is lazy and sloppy. Furthermore, on the section of the exam where they blow the air in your eye, the tech did it multiple times and it wouldn't work. I finally asked if my having contacts was the problems and she said yes, she didn't know I was wearing them. Again, that was in the paperwork and I would venture a large number of clients who come in wear them. Other reasons to avoid - the waiting area is small and you are practically on someone else's lap while waiting so you are certain to be exposed to it if someone is ill. The 2 preliminary exam rooms are even smaller - one is really nothing more than a claustrophobic, tight-fitting closet. Lastly, in spite of it being an eye doctor's office, they are not well set up for contact lens removal and re-insertion. That someone would need to remove their contacts seems to be an afterthought - which, I feel, is lazy and sloppy - again. There is more but that's enough.

I gave Dr. Ullman's office a try (it's currently Broadway Vision, I believe) and was really happy! He listened as I described that my old prescription for one of my eyes wasn't working very well and that my contacts seemed scratchy in my eyes, and I could tell he focused on trying to help me with those issues. I didn't feel rushed through my exam at all, as I've had with other eye doctors (you know, when they're flipping those lenses back and forth as fast as they can go and you barely have time to register which one looks better?). The selection of frames isn't huge, but it's surely worth checking through! One of the women working there was wonderful in checking color/fit options in the frames I liked. At first my main plan was just to get my current frames updated with new lenses, and to check to see if I might like any other frames. I did find some and then hee-hawed around, trying to decide whether to get them, come back later, or not get them at all. I LOVED and VERY much appreciated that I didn't feel pressured even a little tiny bit to get the new ones. Which I eventually did. :) Oh--and their exam prices were the best I could find after 5 calls around!
