Evelyn Shoemake must have misunderstood what card he would be using in the ATM and said the fee would only be $1...well because it was a non Sonora card the fees were $6 from Sonora (2 attempted withdrawals) and $1.50 from the debit card. $7.50 to access $60! Man, I was pissed and demanded that she fix it. Evelyn said they needed to research the ATM transactions and get back to us. I left irritated AND certain we would never hear from Evelyn again, but sometime during the week she quietly followed up, fixed it and emailed my son. This was all for a $100 (now $106) opening balance free fee checking account. My mind was blown! I truly had no faith that she would follow up. This is another example of superior customer service at Sonora Bank in Boerne and specifically Evelyn Shoemake.

We are back to mandatory masks, social distancing, etc. so a guard is on duty to help keep the peace. I get to the teller and she asks what happened to my arm. I tell her the story (she is not concerned with the line of people forming behind me). She tells me about her fear of someday falling down stairs. We laugh. I show her pictures of my black eye. We laugh some more. She doesn't know me from Adam. Then I finally leave. Got a free bottle of water, too.

I have started to get almost all loans thru RBFCU as they consistently have the lowest rates and have great customer service. Staff at this branch very friendly and helpful. I love their long hours on Saturdays and they have notary service available even on Saturdays. Like many places now have they have one of those coin counting machines and charge no fee for members to use if you deposit into your account. If you qualify for membership, suspect pretty easy and I can't remember from when we signed up, you should definitely give them a look especially if in need of a loan.

I paid my December payment on the 10th and for some reason they took out another payment on the 18th! Not only was that upsetting, but it ALSO caused me to go into an overdraft of $34.00. I called them to have this resolved and they told me I needed to show PROOF that the money CLEARED my bank before they could do anything?? So, I sent them a copy of my bank statement. The money was released into my "savings acct". On line, I tried to transfer the funds from that acct to my bank and it wouldn't allow it to be done. The first person I talked to about this issue said it was a glitch and that I should try again later. After 3 more attempts over the last few days, it still wouldn't work. I called again this morning and was told I'd have to go into a branch to get my money. WHY??? Because there was a 'right off" on my acct and so my money was on "hold" $63. of the money was being used to pay a "debt" from an affiliate company that charged my for a service that not only did I never sign up for, but security service wouldn't help me remedy the situation!! First off, how is it that SS can take money from a CAR PAYMENT and pay some crap I didn't sign up for?? THAT SECOND PAYMENT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! NOW, I CANT GET BACK WHAT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE WITH DRAWN FROM MY ACCT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I WILL ALWAY RECOMMEND THIS UNION IS NOT, I repeat NOT used!!!

When I move to San Antonio I expected the same service from this branch. I was completely shocked when arrived to do my first transaction. My partner had asked me to cash a patrol check because she had lost her debit card. So she signs over the check and I proceed to cash it at this branch. They made me feel like a criminal. The lady in the front assumed the check was fake and told me she would not cash my check though I had almost triple the amount of the check in my bank account. The check was also signed over to me. She refused to catch the check and I proceeded to call the branch in Sonora so they could approve the transaction. Once A branch manager from Sonora Texas approved the transaction the lady at the counter said, "make sure you put the name of the branch manager who approved this transaction on the check for when the check bounces in a couple of months." I was humiliated, angry, and appald. I will never step foot in this branch again !!
