Fresh greens…read more(they were so gorgeous!), peaches (snap them up, they go really fast), wine, cheese, fried pies, Japanese bento boxes, Miss Opal's honey, Texadus Farms goat's milk products, beef (yes beef), Grandma's Best baked goods, Stoney-Brook Farm (preserves & they sold blackberry & strawberry plants), spices, squash....and other delicious goodies that I can't remember. My favorite booths were Texadus & Grandma's Best. I bought several bars of the goat's milk soap along with some salves for pain, headache ointmint & lotion bars. The farm is family owned/operated & I had such a great time gabbing with Lynn Jones, mother of the year for raising 8 boys & 3 girls. From Grandma's I purchased several mini-pies (buttermilk, coconut & lemon), a pecan-cheesecake-caramel pie (oh good Lord was that good)& a chocolate chip-cheesecake bar. These sweets were heaven! And A+ for the creativity of combining cheesecake with other desserts. Even though this market is on the small side it makes up for it with the hospitality of the local farmers, ranchers, cheesemakers (blessed are the cheesemakers!), bakers, etc. Drop on by for some good old country hospitality & shooting the sh*t w/the local characters.
