Just walking around on a Thursday evening when the friendly Capitol police officer told us to go in and check it out. So glad we did! It was quiet, interesting, and majestic. No politics, just history and architecture.

Pretty cool to see the Texas Capitol and walk around the grounds. Parking wasn't too bad as I came on a week day. The place was under a bit of construction at the time I visited, which has since been cleaned up. The place was pretty and spacious, and the inside was cool to view. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A very beautiful and historic capitol! Free to get in and explore this capitol and grounds. A ton of sculptures explain Texas history, good and bad, the way it should be.

We visited the Texas Capitol, and the best part is that admission is free! There were quite a lot of tourists, which added to the lively atmosphere. Finding parking was a bit tricky, but we managed to do street parking and paid the meter for about an hour and a half. When you first walk in, there's a security check, which felt reassuring for safety. Once inside, the building's structure is absolutely stunning, especially the ceiling--it's really impressive. It's a great place to teach your kids about Texas history. They'll come away with a much better understanding of the state's past.

PROS: this is one of the most historic and currently used government buildings in all of Texas. Gift shop, corridors, lookout, artwork, and House of Representatives rooms were all a delight. There's also free parking CONS: The lookout was closed and it was tough to navigate through the building since there's no map OVERALL: I would definitely come here if you're in town. Especially cause it's free

I like the Alamo Drafthouse and this was my first time at this location. The Shining themed hallway…read moreis really cool. I like Alamo Drafthouse theaters for their plush, assigned seating and full dining experience at your seat. The baked pretzel was delicious and big enough to share. The service is great but do note that an 18% gratuity is added to your bill automatically.

I regularly frequent Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar to view movie screenings…read more This time around we had 3 people in our party and there were only 2 seats remaining in the theater and the staff accommodated us by moving one of the handicap seats to accommodate everyone in our party. This was a very kind gesture that went above and beyond and was greatly appreciated or we would have been turned away from the screening by the PR company coordinating it. They have a variety of quality food items to choose from on their menu. I love the popcorn, with all the flavor combinations with my favorite being Parmesan and herb. The price point for food has gotten a bit high but you do get unlimited free refills on soft drinks and popcorn. They used to charge for extra Parmesan herb seasoning on refills, but in my last visit that was no longer the case. I also love the fried pickles and dry fried cauliflower with the vegan ranch dip. They have some really good food options for a theater. So my last screening experience to Mother Mary, we were seated late and this resulted in me not being able to order my food though the new QR code/phone ordering process. It was too dark for my phone to scan the QR code so someone took my order verbally. Then come to find out that they no longer had the Frito pie which is what I was trying to order. So they brought me a paper menu and card to write out my order which I did. Well, no one came back to pick up the card even though the light was on until the very end of the movie. Also when they brought the cauliflower, they forgot the vegan ranch dip so I had to get up and track someone down to get it which interrupted the movie viewing experience. Then I was charged and automatic service change and gratuity on top of that even though I was not satisfied with my service or food ordering experience. This was very frustrating to say the least. So now I am experiencing some issues that I have not previously had before which caused some stress and anxiety and diminished my experience. As with any new process, I hope this is only temporary because for this price point I expected more.

Stop #5 The Austin TX mural tour has been so much fun. My friends are enjoying getting to know…read moreAustin, TX better. The "I Love You So Much" mural is one of Austin's most photographed and widely recognized pieces of street art. It is located on the side of Jo's Coffee at 1300 South Congress Avenue in the city's South Congress neighborhood. The mural features a simple message, "I love you so much", painted in red cursive letters on a light green wall. The mural has become a symbol of love we have for each other, connection to each other as well as the connection to the city, and Austin's love for all. The mural was created in 2010 by Amy Cook, a local Austin musician. According to the word on the streets, Cook spray painted the message as a heartfelt expression of love for her partner, Liz Lambert, who is affiliated with Jo's Coffee. Now this sign serves a love note to all that visit Austin.

Simple, elegant, profound, and fun. I can't even begin to count how many times I have been to this mural in the last decade or so. This along with other murals on South Congress and in Austin is where I take visitors from other cities. Well, I take them to this one only if I Love Them So Much!
