The burger is great but they need to cook their fries longer. The prices are really good also.

So many things happening in this place - people making fudge, candied nuts, all kinds of jerkee; a huge BBQ station where employees shout out every time they either make or sell a sandwich? All kinds of fun merchandise - from clothes to shoes, to toys - a full gift shoppe. Employees are amazing - engaged, kind, energetic - definitely seem to care about what they do. Management salaries are posted out front for hiring purposes - pay is real high which is great, but even better, seems like those managers are doing a great job leading employees for that $$$ So, if you ever see a Buc-ee's I recommend you go in and see it - it's pretty hard to explain but it is quite something.

"It's a BIG gas station that sells EVERYTHING." And if I was lucky, I might even see Buc-ee in the flesh. Lmao. I'm always down to try something new, so off we went. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. First of all, this is not just a gas station it's a full-blown destination! Lol. I've never seen so many gas pumps in my life! Then you walk inside and it's absolute sensory overload in the best way possible. There's a whole brisket situation happening, fresh-made tortillas, a gazillion candies and snacks, fresh fudge, corn pops, an entire wall of jerky, and yes... a Buc-ee's clothing line. Ahahahhaha. Hoodies, pajamas, mugs, seriously, the beaver is everywhere!!! This place is massive! Like Costco massive. Lol. But the true star of the show was the Buc-ee mascot himself because I was lucky enough to meet him and get a photo-op. Iconic! That alone made the stop worth it! I walked out with several snacks and zero regrets. If you're visiting Texas for the first time, it's a must-stop experience. I was genuinely entertained which is not a feeling I normally associate with walking into a regular gas station in California. Lol.

Plus everyone, including the workers, are happy to be there and there's no long lines. Lots of merch and food. I got a foam baseball, a flashlight key chain, a cooler bag, my $1.19 XL Diet Dr. Pepper, and Beaver Nuggets for the neighbors, while the wife nabbed Mini Waffle Cones and Butter Toffee Pecans, which I highly recommend. This being my third time at a Buc-ee's, I was smart enough to go hungry and got a brisket sandwich from the busy busy foodworkers. Once second largest at 60,000 square feet, this particular Buc-ee's, the relief point between Dallas and Austin, ranks 11th in size out of 54. A mix of Outlaw Country with the busy Donki stores of Japan, I affectionately call these a "Delta Dawn Quixote."

And I don't understand the people who don't understand the appeal. It's a destination! Walmart meets Cracker Barrel with barbecue and jerky and a thousand gas pumps. You have to try it. I've now been to more than a dozen across the United States and I still get excited to step inside. Beaver Nuggets. Clean restrooms. Jerky. Fudge. A large brass beaver out front. It's something else and the Buc=ee's in Temple fits the brand well. I had a great time and look forward to the next one! [Review 379 of 2026 - 696 in Texas - 25564 overall]

This store is arranged in standard QuikTrip fashion. Depending on which side you enter you can choose fountain drinks or coffee drinks on tap on the immediate wall. There is fresh food in an open refrigerated section and a variety of hot foods. There is also a kitchen with a kiosk screen from which ordering can take place. There are fresh donuts and related pastries in the morning, which are discounted at night. Like other convenience stores you can find candy and generic sundries and groceries. I've just come in for the drinks. The fountain drinks have the right carbonation. I also like that they offer coffee on tap; it's unique. Both the cold brews are tasty, as well as the hot coffee offerings. And, if you want to sweeten your coffee, they tend to have 6-10 flavored creamers available for this use. And of course, they have the good personal service other convenience stores don't. You are greeted and thanked. Also, one person working can handle checking out people from both sides of the register. The fuel pumps are located a decent distance away from the store and are spaced well apart for vehicles to maneuver around. The pumps are also very modern.
