There have not been many recent reviews for this Texaco gas station in the CP on the corner of New Hope and Lakeline, so here is mine. I have been frequenting this location for over six years, because it is very convenient for me to purchase lottery tickets (don't judge me) and buy beer, wine, and snacks when I don't want to travel to a big-box store. Yes, the prices are a tad higher, but I will pay a few extra bucks for convenience and time saved. They do have an excellent selection of brews, wines, and hard seltzers. If you are a vaper, they have many, many options for you. As a bonus, there is a taqueria on site. I have not tried their fare, but they are always busy, and the made-to-order tacos look and smell delicious. Note, they are only open for lunch. Regarding customer service, the guys at the counter always greet me with a friendly hello or high boss and they get me in and out quickly, which I appreciate.

They have so many good snacks to keep you munching on the road: jerky, candied pecans and nuts, Beaver Chips, soda, slushies, and all kinds of coffee to keep you hydrated and awake. The restrooms are clean and huge, especially the ladies' restroom. No need to wait in a long line! They also have souvenirs and so many other things to browse. The staff are super friendly. At first sight, it was so overwhelmingly large with three large covered gas pump areas. Upon going inside, it was definitely larger than any truck stop in California. I was told the first area to visit at Buc-ee's are the restrooms. Definitely well kept and much cleaner than any gas stations period that I have ever been to. I definitely did not go there just to check out the bathrooms, but for the many Buc-ee's logo'd souvenirs, snacks and especially barbecue seasonings and sauces. Their hot food area like hot Brisket sandwiches, sausage wrapped in a tortilla on a stick, brisket burritos, candied nuts, a wall of almost every fountain drink available, slushies, and so much more. I had to go through my list of items to pick up as well as items requested by friends and family. It felt like it was my first time at an amusement park or the toy store. I think we were short of two hours trying to make sure we got everything we came for. Just in case I missed anything or didn't get to try a sample of fudge, jerky, nuts, cookies, or whatever else, we had plans to go to San Antonio the following day and there would be a Buc-ee's on the way at New Braunfels. Sure enough, we made a quicker stop in the New Braunfels location just before San Antonio. It was a fun experience and definitely anytime I am passing by a Buc-ee's location, I am going in planned or not planned.

If you need it--or if you forgot to pack it--they have it. They're selling everything from outdoor gear, deer stands, and lawn chairs to high-end Ray-Ban sunglasses and beautiful home decor. Then there's the food. You can smell the roasted pecans and smoked meats the second you walk in. The chopped brisket sandwiches are amazing, and the snack selection is endless--wall-to-wall jerky, fudge, and every road trip snack you could ever long for. Despite how busy it gets, the staff is always incredibly friendly, helpful, and fast. Everything is a fantastic value for the quality you get. This store is arranged in standard QuikTrip fashion. Depending on which side you enter you can choose fountain drinks or coffee drinks on tap on the immediate wall. There is fresh food in an open refrigerated section and a variety of hot foods. There is also a kitchen with a kiosk screen from which ordering can take place. There are fresh donuts and related pastries in the morning, which are discounted at night. Like other convenience stores you can find candy and generic sundries and groceries. I've just come in for the drinks. The fountain drinks have the right carbonation. I also like that they offer coffee on tap; it's unique. Both the cold brews are tasty, as well as the hot coffee offerings. And, if you want to sweeten your coffee, they tend to have 6-10 flavored creamers available for this use. And of course, they have the good personal service other convenience stores don't. You are greeted and thanked. Also, one person working can handle checking out people from both sides of the register. They also have a full coffee bar on tap that offers a variety of flavors along with a creamer station, they have a frozen drinks slushie station, and a full kitchen offering pizzas, subs, tacos and more. I guess you can say I've been sheltered because I was amazed to see all of this. And to make it even better, the prices are reasonable and not marked up like other gas station prices. I have yet to try any of these items, only gas, but the customer service was great and the place was clean!
