The four of us (two couples staying the week in Granada) passed by this place on our way to visit the Bañuelo (bath). We stopped in and were greeted warmly. We ordered their special mint lemonade and a plate of their own "Nido" (nest) pastries with sesame, almonds, pistachio and chocolate.
The lemonade is made to order with oodles of fresh mint (as in, they go out to the garden and pick a bunch), spun in a blender with fresh lemon juice, a bit of sugar, and ice. Frothed to a deep mint green and served ice-cold in thick glass mugs, it was out-of-this-world.
The "nido" pastries are sort-of like baklava in texture and flavor, and are not cloyingly sweet.
We returned two days later and had the same thing over again; it was just as good. The owner (we think), Mari Trini, remembered us and made us feel special.
This is just up the street from El Bañuelo (public baths monument) and in fact overlooks the roof of the baths. There is indoor and outdoor seating. read more
