Fairly good selection of rugs, though like everywhere these days too many shag/deep pile rugs not enough standard rugs. Lots and lots of bedding available, curtains etc, not the cheapest of places, especially the curtains! but none the less its selection is fantastic. We always love to have a look round Dunelm. Some of the isles are a bit tight for wheelchair users though. Upstairs has a good selection of household crockery, pictures, craft fabric etc and the lift is a decent size. Dont go to dunelm if you are in a hurry though, betime we have had a good look we have often killed a good hour atleast! So much to look at!

For example, I just got some fully-lined heavy velvet curtains that were £60 marked down to £19.99. I also got a 6ft long roller blind for my kitchen window that was marked down to a fiver. I also bought all new bedding, not on sale, that was still good value for the money. My bed is so comfy now! And the woman that was working the floor in the bedding department helped us gather what we wanted and also knew exactly what date some pillowcases we wanted would be back in stock. I also know from experience that they are happy to accept returns as I bought a set of curtains that was the wrong size. I brought them back for a painless exchange.

There is everything you need to make the curtains - thread, lining, eyelets,wires. They also stock a great selection of poles, blinds and readymade curtains. At the moment they have a huge volume of christmas products - definitely worth a look

Martin and Warren as I have come to know them (yes I shop here a lot) are very keen to help and give ideas on what to buy, their service is second to none. And when you've finished shopping why not pop next door to Pizza Express for lunch? There is a pay and display car park just up the yard from the store.

I almost always forget about this store, but when I happen upon it I think, "Why didn't I remember…read morethis?!" The store itself is just the pinnacle of cute and it really is a boutique. It was hard to classify under categories because they sell furniture, home decor, stuff for the kitchen, bath stuff, and things for kids or vintage items for those of us 'big kids'. They have Cath Kidson items, fun cups and utensils, teapots and tea sets galore. Every time I have gone in though, it smells a bit funny. I know what you are thinking... I checked, it isn't me. I'm not even quite sure how to describe the smell, but it does put me off a little bit and I overheard a lady 'whispering' to her friend about it as well. The other thing is that near the back of the store, the walkways are a bit narrow, so it can be difficult to get by others that are looking without knocking something breakable over. Something to think about if you have children, large bags, or you are generally clumsy.

I had expected a basic…read moregarden centre full of pots and plants and little else, but this place is full of high-quality beautiful gifts: china, glass, ornaments, homewares, books, jewellery and so much more! There is a gorgeous cafe as well my husband and I had lunch there and everything was so fresh and delicious (especially the most glorious cream cakes imaginable!!!). We bought some treats to bring home as well from the chilled cabinet, including Findlater's vegetable pate (something you can't find easily elsewhere). Of course, there are plenty of gardening tools, accessories and beautiful plants for sale, both for indoors and the garden. The staff are very helpful too. We asked for a couple of plants we couldn't find and the assistant insisted on phoning someone to see if they could track them down for us. It's found on the Ayr road going a few miles out of Kilmarnock, and there's a large car park at the front. (I'm sure it won't be long until we go over there again!)
