Stopped by after a 10 year hiatus...what was I thinking? Still great after all those years…read more Got a #5 sandwich to go and some spicy, tender, jerky to share with my wife...she loved it. We also got a pound and a half of pulled BBQ pork...very good--sweet & smoky, as well as some cilantro lime pasta salad. Everything was perfect! The counter personnel were friendly, helpful and funny. The counter was clean, neat and easy to shop, even the dried spices. 100% will return in the near future. This place is well worth the hop, skip and a jump into SE Wisconsin from Illinois. Plus the gas was waaaay cheaper there at the adjoining BP. Go and be a cheesehead for the day!

We don't really visit downtown Kenosha, but we will be going there from now on! This is a quaint smaller store with a meat case along with some freezer cases, refrigerator case, and good quality dry goods. They even have local handmade products too! The store is simple, but well thought out with the good quality products they have. We purchased whole chickens, pork chops, and already made roast beef and gravy frozen meals. Loved all of it! We have found the place we have been looking for!

Do you realize that most of our bacon is coming out of China? Even if the pigs are American raised,…read moreit is still processed in China. I'm talking major brands. Do you trust it? I don't. Why would our pork need to go all the way to China to be processed and sent back? Think! This place has a sweet farmer lady running it. No nonsense type that will tell you the truth. I've been going here to get my ham hocks and pork knuckles for the most outstanding crock pot smoked pork and beans known the side of the Pecos. They also have local honey. Do you know that local honey is so good for you? You do not want overcooked and of corporate variety in a plastic bottle from your supermarket. There are real health benefits to getting honey locally. (I know this because at one time I had an apiary of over 100 hives and was a purveyor of the finest clover honey in North America.) In the colder months, they have a split pea and bacon soup that will warm your innards and tickle your gizzards. If you want corporate and fake this place ain't for you.But if you want the real deal with straight talk, this is the meat market for you.

Lamb (mutton)Biryani is our favorite and I think the hardest thing to get right for some places - but here, it's perfect! Everything else was the real-deal too. This isn't a high-end experience - it is take-away only and it's an older building. But, you know what - who cares? It beats driving 30 miles to Milwaukee or Gurnee to get a nice South Asian/Indian meal and this is a small, family operated business that we really need to support. So - great food, good service, a reasonable price-point - what more could we ask for?

Got these at the farmers market in Kenosha. So good. Also such a cute set up with friendly people!read more
