Well there isn't a ton to say but the establishment is exactly like a gas station should be. The staff are friendly and they have your usual junk food with a few automotive items. The gas prices are just slightly higher then the options away from town but if you need gas while downtown this is the spot. read more

Dropped my car here (all day) for an oil change. I got a call around noon that it needed a $700 brake job. It would require new rotors as mine could not be turned because of our proximity to "the salt from the ocean", and of course new pads. The parts costs they gave me were roughly double local retail price. They told me I would be lucky to get three more days driving on it before the irreparable damage was done to the calipers. I told them not to do anything.... This weekend, I bought those parts and set to replacing them with a friend. Found the rotors to to be fine and the pads with normal wear for a vehicle with the miles mine has on it. Replaced them in 1.5 hours. I guess that guy has some extra bills he needs to cover this month. I hope he bothered to actually changed the oil in my engine! read more

Is this a joke? Most pumps are broken or don;t have working credit card readers. The poor kid working behind the counter couldn't dislike his job anymore. The propane cylinder exchange is 0/4 currently. Capitol Service is just around the block and , for the extra $.05/gal, I'll happily deal with their prompt and professional service. Awful gas prices, rude staff, and probably the scummiest auto-shop in town is attached to this business, owned and operated by the same person. Before I knew any better, I was on friendly terms with the owner, so I trusted them to do work on my cars. They sold me a $600 set of tires, acting like it was the deal of a lifetime, when similar tires can be bought from Amazon - yes, Amazon - for half that. Worse yet, the tires quickly wore down to the steel cords and needed replacement much faster than your typical tire. Trusted them to do a brake job for me too. They put organic compound pads on, before I knew that brake pads came in different material types, and that organics are also the fastest wearing. I don't remember what I paid for this work, but it's almost a certainty they installed the organics to try and get me back in to pay for the labor as quickly as possible. The auto shop name is "Egan Express Lube", though curiously enough, they do not have a listing on Yelp. If you look them up on other review sites, you're going to find reviews much like my own - overpriced, "offers" repairs and services you don't need, will browbeat you into selling your car to them at an awful price so they can fix it up for real and re-sell it, and very rude all around. read more

High prices AND terrible service. I only go here when I absolutely have to for gas (car running on fumes, late for work). Half the pumps are broken and only a small number allow you to pay at the pump, and the prices are some of the highest in Juneau. For most of the pumps, you have to go inside, leave a credit card, fill up, go back inside to sign your receipt. While this is a minor inconvenience it is made worse because it seems that this location hires exclusively from the halfway house. Terrible customer service. I get propane tanks filled here occasionally, and each time it is like I am asking the clerk to move the earth. I now drive all the way out to DeHarts in Auke Bay (~13 miles) to get it filled because they are friendly and it's a local business. Avoid this Tesoro at all costs. read more

First, the service manager gave me a dirty look and commented on the fact that I brought my car in at 5pm. Then when he realized I only wanted a quick help, which would have taken him or an employee only a few minutes minutes and no cost for parts, he rudely told me to "go away". I can understand a business not wanting to help a customer out for free, but it was not necessary for him to be so rude. He could have simply said that he was sorry he could not help me. I just moved to Juneau and now live 3 blocks from the store. Had I not been so appalled by this service manager's attitude, I would have been a regular customer. Now I plan to take all of my business, for fule and service, to another company. read more

They clearly violate numerous Alaska statues under the Alaska Automobile Repair Act (AS 45.45.130-240). They quote very low prices for routine services, then charge you much higher, adding in made-up remedies for problems your car never had. I went in for a quoted $65 oil change. The bill came out to be $84 because they were "kind" enough to "refill" my coolant and washer fluid. I think they also topped off my blinker fluid. Stay away from these untrustworthy schemers. read more

The girl who works here and set up the barista coffee service makes this gas station as far as I am concerned. She's a true asset and makes the best coffee in all of Juneau. Go here for coffee. The cheap gas is an extra bonus. Also conveniently situated for the Douglas bridge. read more

Bought coolant from them 2 days ago. When I got home, I realized I already had coolant in the garage. I went back today to return the coolant I had purchased (it was unopened and I had the receipt). Got some nasty looks, was told that they've never had someone try to return something before, and the owner refused to refund it. read more

This place is terrible. Had my car in all day on a 3 day in advance appt and they didn't even get it inside. They called me an hour after working hours and didn't even bother to leave a message. When I called the guy laughed at me, asked a lot of stupid questions, and was rude and condescending. Then this moron starts telling me about how "surgery" doesn't always go as planned! The mechanic thinks he is a doctor! HAHAHAHA! DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! read more
