I can't say THANK YOU enough! My fiance was on a roadtrip with her cat, Jade. She got a sudden tire pressure warning on the highway. She called me, I looked around on Maps and thankfully found this service center nearby. She had enough air to make it... but she is hours from me and has a cat. This could be terrible. Instead she received the greatest service possible. She went inside stressed and was immediately taken care of. They even found a spare room so that Jade, the cat, could get out of her carrier for a bit. In less than 45 minutes the tire was fixed and they were back on the road. What could have been a terrible part of a road trip became a quick and easy fix. My fiance said it was handled better than she could have ever expected. So Tesla WILL NOT budge on me driving to Tampa to get a warranty paint issue fixed. I don't have 5 hours + on 2 different days to do this. Basically they give 0 $€!£$ about this and basically told me to go pound sand. This is NOT the way to stand behind your product. They used to allow local authorized body shops to do the repairs if you were not conveniently located to them. Now their corporate higher ups have staunchly refused to budge on their policy about not doing anything to help their existing customers out. Trying to get this done through their APP is also a nightmare. Their app grossly favors them, and makes it nigh on impossible to get a human (much less the same one twice). I will think twice before I ever buy another one of these particular things. The Musk can keep his zillion dollars. I'll drive this rust bucket around forever talking to everyone I can about how they refused to fix it. My advice - buy a different brand. Let me start by saying that I have never left a review but my experience with Tesla of Sarasota was so outrageous I felt obligated. My wife and I arrived at Tesla Sunday June 22nd excited to get our new Tesla Y. We couldn't wait to experience the new Full Self Drive. Upon arrival everything went smoothly as far as documents and payment. Once the paperwork was done it was time to go and get acquainted with the new Tesla. The Tesla rep had been very helpful up to this point. He walked us thru the app and pairing it with the car. We got in the car eager to learn how to work everything and that's when everything went South. The first thing the rep tried to do was get the A/C going, as it was about 95 degrees outside and 130 degrees in the car. But the A/C was broken. The air would come out of the defrost vent but not the normal vents. Definitely not enough air to cool the car on a hot Florida Summer day. He first tried to "reboot" the car but this did not work. At this point I assumed that he would put us in a loaner car and we would come back to take delivery once our new car was ready to be delivered. WRONG!! His solution was to go into the Tesla app, open a service request, and bring the car back for the first available appointment on Wednesday. He showed us how to put the windows down and we were expected to ride around for three days like that. WHAT?? At this point I am totally in disbelief that this was how they would treat a new customer. Especially since we hadn't even taken possession of the car and this is something that should have been caught while the car was going thru its pre delivery inspection. Earlier in the showroom the rep had told me and my wife that we had three days to bring the car back for any reason if we changed our minds. At this point I was ready to use that option and terminate the deal. I asked for the keys to my trade back and would drive it home. They could call me when the new car was ready and I would return and purchase it then. NOPE. Another lie. The rep went to ask "the manager" if that was an option and when he returned he told us that he was mistaken, and that they did not offer the three day return policy any longer. I can think of several solutions that would have been acceptable including: a loaner car, a rental car, or at very least a courtesy shuttle to take us home and pick us up when the car was ready to be delivered. All were rejected by Tesla of Sarasota. The best they do was to suggest we drive it home with the windows down and bring it back on Monday when the service department opened and the would try to repair. So off me and my wife went in our brand new $60,000 Tesla on our one hour drive home with the windows down. As luck would have it, it started raining about 10 minutes into that drive home making keeping the windows down impossible. A total disaster. My wife is returning with the car (windows down) this morning in hopes it will be repaired. I really like the car and the FSD is incredible. But Tesla Sarasota needs to rethink their whole customer service approach. So my recommendation is DO NOT transfer funds on your new Tesla if dealing with Sarasota Tesla until you get the chance to go and sit in your new car an verify everything is working and the car is as expected. read more

Poorest ran car dealer ever! They advertise a discount of thousands, implying it is taken off of the sale price. Then you're doing the deal and they say "that's what you will save annually in gas!" They also imply you will get a free Super Charger with the car - nope! You get to use their super charger at their lot ! If you go to the service/parts dept to buy one, you can't! They don't stock anything! You to order it online. The car they delivered was filthy on the inside! The tire pressure was low! They are tremendously understaffed and the salesman is a complete cyborg! They delivered the car with a front license plate bracket and claim they can't remove it because it will then fail the Federal crash test! I would never hire a single individual that works at this dealership. They are all very deceptive. read more

Went to this new Service center to buy a new tire for my Model S Prime. Tire last about 25,000 miles before needing replacement. I asked to have all tires set at 42psi which they failed to do and replace my cabin air filter and windshield wiper blades. They left the boxes the blades came in my trunk rather than discarding them. I could not tell if the cabin filter was replaced. read more

Hubby and I came in sometime in September of last year to check out the power wall dimension. We left putting in our info to test drive a Y. Sean called a couple weeks later to schedule driving the Y. We drove around the mall, freeway and back. Impressed but went home undecided. Sean was completely cool, didn't pressure us buying onsite. He did let us know we can place an order online. We did exactly that in October, just before another price increase. We waited about 2 months for delivery. Sean would text from time to time to make sure we have documents submitted via app and or give us updates on order. Payment was even done through the app. The entire ordering and buying experience was seamless. read more

I must say that I had among the worst car purchasing experiences getting my Tesla Model 3 in my entire life. The car was defective on pick-up and was un-drivable! When we (my wife & I) arrived to get our brand new car... sadly, the dealership was completely under-staffed. There was no one to greet us at the front desk. We found our way back to the waiting room and eventually one of the rushed Tesla employees came to check on us after about 30 minutes. Our new car was supposed to be outside in the main parking lot and wasn't. Our salesman excused himself to check on the status of our car and we saw him go into the main office and make some phone calls. After about 30 minutes of waiting with no updates he eventually drove our car from somewhere in the back of the dealership and pulled it into the main parking lot. When I got into the driver seat, I immediately noticed the main control screen was glitching and the images had flickering pixels in an awkward way. I showed the defective display to our salesman and he decided to reboot the computer system by pushing down both control buttons on the steering wheel, which seemed to (temporarily) fix the problem. However, when we drove away... the screen completely froze when we tried to play some music (which almost led to me losing control of the car from the distraction). I immediately drove the car back to the dealership and told our salesman what had happened. He said there was nothing more he could do and told us to take it to the service center next door. Once at the service center, we explained to the employee there what happened and she said "oh, that's happened on a few Model Y's... it's probably a defective cable issue and we will have to order a part on Monday." She then set us up with a loaner Model 3 and told us they would reach out with an update when they diagnosed the issue. It took 5 days for the car to be fixed. Tesla refused to deliver my car to me so I had to drive back 3 hours round trip to Tampa to pick it up. At the dealership, my new car was parked outside and was covered in dozens of small droplets of some unknown brown substance (bird crap, pollen?). Rather than demand they clean my new car up and wait ; I drove it home and cleaned it myself. Then, after all of that... I found out that Tesla had not paid off the balance of our trade-in car 12 days after we sold it to them. The payment on our old car was still showing up and was due. I had to make multiple messages and calls to Tesla to get this resolved (many of them unanswered and un-returned). They even had to audacity to suggest I make the payment on a car I didn't even own anymore. Honestly, I felt like I was getting a total run-around about the entire situation. It was handled so unprofessionally and what an inconvenience! Multiple times throughout the entire process I was told, "we are so busy and sorry." In summary, there are multiple customer service issues here: 1. Tesla is grossly understaffed leading to very poor customer experiences. For example... several other people were also complaining and angry about their delayed deliveries when we were waiting for our car. 2. There was serious quality control issue with my car (the malfunctioning screen) that should have been picked up BEFORE I received the car. A full diagnostic check should have been done prior to me getting a car with a glitched screen. Especially when your life depends on a functioning control screen. 3. When you trade in a vehicle, the customer shouldn't be to one to have to beg the dealership to pay off the old car with the previous lender. 4. It would be nice to give a customer who just had been completely inconvenienced about getting a new vehicle a spotless clean car! And a delivery would have been nice too. Many of my friends had their Teslas delivered to them in the past. I was told, "they are too busy" now. I realize the overwhelming success of sales of Tesla cars is a mixed blessing as now it appears that quantity may have become more important than quality for their company. read more

Tesla is a great company and very non-pressure sales. If you're trading in a car and it's in great shape, you'll probably get more for it at Car Max or another place, since Tesla won't give you more for brand new tires or things like that. Make sure that you test drive since the regenerative braking can seem quite harsh to some people. You can't get Apple CarPlay or Android Auto either, but these cars are very fast. The tax rebate is gone with Tesla now, but maintenance on EV's is almost nonexistent. Charging an EV at home at off peak hours is about 1/5 the price of gas! Not the typical high pressure sales tactics of other auto makers. Very pleasant experience. read more

The guys were very friendly and even though I wasn't there to buy, they treated like I was and that's a break from the normal run of the mill car salespersons that lie to you, harass you and try to make yo feel like they're there to sell you something. Man.. these cars are just so freaking cool! I've never seen a dealership in a mall, but that's pretty much what the Tesla store is. Unlike combustion engine cars, they are fully electric, and are not produced in high numbers. You order them and they deliver. And apparently you get 277 miles on one charge. Now that's not gonna get you far, it's more of a touring car than a long distance drive, but the ride sure is sweet looking! Should I find myself with a couple of grand to spare, you can bet I'm buying one! read more

The Tesla Motors store inside of the University Town Center mall was a seriously awesome experience. Wait, a car dealership inside of the mall, WHAT?!?!? I had certainly read a lot of articles about the all-electric Tesla vehicle, but had never had the chance to really give it the once over and kick the tires, until now. I'm all in favor of alternate sources of energy, and renewal resources, so these folks had me from the very beginning. The dealership actually had two vehicles on display, plus a stripped down chassis, and lots of helpful displays to explain the Tesla concept and features. The Model S starts at over $70K, and when fully loaded can easily break six figures. Since this is a fully electric vehicle, you're limited by battery capacity in terms of how far you can go on a single charge, but still a very cool concept. 275 miles or so, seems to be the norm. I confess I was like a kid in a very expensive candy store, and wanted to sit behind the wheel, play with all of the electronic gadgetry on the dashboard, look under the hood, and so on. What was supposed to be a quick peek inside the store turned into an hour and a half visit. Thankfully I resisted the urge to pull out a credit card and ask for the red one......but Brett has kindly offered to buy it for me if I hit 1500 reviews before the year is over. Game on! read more

Tesla sells directly to the consumer with no dealer locations so while they won't discuss pricing, you can go online to buy the car. The Model S starts at $71,000 and the high end model will cost you over $110,000. Truly amazing how poorly this place is set up. Expecting ANY of the things a Dealer has? Forget it. One car to look at. Two people, a rude girl without any knowledge and a guy who is much better but has a line of 8 people waiting to talk to him. I bought a Tesla elsewhere and can't get even the most basic or necessary information on it, like how to register it so I can just CHARGE the vehicle. Yes, I know,o get the Tesla App on my phone, or try the computer. When it says "page not found" not a problem. Try going to Tesla to ask them? Not possible. We don't do that. It's been three weeks. I can charge it in my garage, even at 240 v. But not at a gas station or electrical station. They need my name, registration, email and credit card. I'd certainly give it to them if I could but they won't take my info or recognize my phone number. I have owned 160 cars up to now and if they require that I text to own this one I'll sell it. You need an iphone to play music. No CDs. The car's great. The registration is damn near impossible. I went to Ft Myers. It looks like they opened yesterday. Service is one guy with a card table and a laptop. No help. Why do all the reviews sound like Tesla sales people. Maybe that's where they all are. read more

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, always ready to assist! They were gracious enough to allow us an overnight test-drive which was enough to seal the deal for us! The store has some (limited) merchandise available for sale as well. It's a great spot to check out a new Tesla without being pressured after the fact. Also, there are about 8 Tesla chargers in the back side of the mall parking lot that you can use (lot 3). I had no idea until we returned the X from the test drive. To which we told her we got it on our own. And started checking the specks on the computer. I guess she got butt hurt cuz she called security on us and got us removed from the store. Very disappointed. In short I felt that I was misquoted on a price for the car after going through the finance process. I was told that my 2500 order payment would not be refunded or applied to a takeover lease that I had found. I was continually told that a manager would be calling me and two months after I placed the order I have yet to get that call. I understand that the holiday periods are busy, but it became very apparent that this was not a priority. The resources at this Dealership lost $200k in potential orders. I was planning on purchasing X and Y; we had already placed on Order for Tesla Solar and Powerwall. The experience from the Dealership Sales Advisor, combined with lack of Customer Support from Solar Power Advisor---left me with an awful taste for Tesla. The dealership experience was horrible; I was treated in a condescending manner and the Advisor had no idea that I was considering purchasing 2 vehicles.
