Tight parking lot & totally full on a Friday morning; I immediately regretted driving a truck to this car park. The selection was what you'd expect from a larger Sainsbury's but the store is not nearly as large as it looks from outside. We found everything we needed for the weekend plus some. The entrance has been redesigned and is lovely and airy, to the right is the tobacco kiosk and lunch section. Just beyond that is the lift and stairs to the large cafe, with the toilets hidden down the side of the lift. Upstairs is a new addition and the Cafe provides cooked meals aswell as liight snacks and drinks. The staff here seem to be struggling a little with the new environment however so make sure you have plenty of time. the store downstairs has a great clothing department with tall wide aisles which make it a pleasure to browse around. Ive never had a long wait at the tills and they seem to have the perfect balance of open tills and staff available. A real credit to Sainsburys.

When I asked about sauerkraut, the employee walked me to one and offered to show me other variety in a separate aisle. Same with the meat counter. They did not have any center cut chops behind the counter, so he came out and walked me to good choices in the aisles. Cafe is has a higher standard. Open choice pastries, china and real silver were to eat with. Multiple options for milks and variations on their drinks. Will frequent this store when I'm on that side of town. It's not a huge store, but helpfully it's open 24 hours a day, although you do have to fight your way round the shelf stackers at night. Generally it's pretty well stocked, apart from the odd days around the major holidays where you can find the shelves dreadfully empty. There's a pharmacy, which I've never used, a Tesco Direct counter which works just as it should. The photo shop is always having their machine break down but when it's running the service is actually very good. A word of warning, there's a café tucked away upstairs at the far right of the shop, very easy to miss. I would definitely give it a miss, the breakfast is truly disgusting, and the coffee machine seems to be out of order whenever I go there. It's clean and tidy though.

Tesco, Newmarket has just removed a large number of manned check-outs and replaced them with D.I.Y…read more ones - Why? This means that staff jobs will be cut back and you are annoying the hell out of customers in the process. Staff were very kindly offering to help and encourage customers to use the D.I.Y. checkouts and in my hearing 8 out of 10 customers said 'no'. they'd rather wait for a manned checkout. Presumably this decision has been made by your extremely well paid Managing Director at head office who is not interested in his staff or his customers but only in making more profit for himself and his shareholders, Has he really thought through the image he is creating that the Tesco brand is all about fleecing the general public. Tesco is my one stop shop for everything I need grocery and alcohol related…read more It is a smaller Tesco so it doesn't have everything the large 24 hour Tesco's do. I like this Tesco especially because the prices are very low, the produce is always fresh and their meat selections are always nice. They have a pretty large dairy and cheese section as well, my two favorites. Their alcohol section is pretty good. I have never had a problem not finding what I needed at this store. They have a lovely florist section. Their Tesco brand foods and products are high quality. I usually chose them over any other food and product brands. The customer service is outstanding, I can't say enough good things about this Tesco, except it gets really crowded and is a mad house on Saturdays, I steer clear of it on that day. They have good sales and the food is always fresh.
