Quite a pleasant market to wander round and find some bargains, and much bigger than I first…read morerealised. Lots of market stalls to tempt you: a greengrocers, Newport town centre's only fishmonger, delicatessen, traditional sweet stall, second hand books and CDs, clothes and more. You can have your hair cut or visit one of the two or three cafes inside the market. Wide walkways make it easy to wander round.

Friars Walk literally just opened today and has amazing potential…read more ~ Atmosphere: It's newly built and has a very modern, sleek look. Most of it is based on it being an outdoor shopping center with wide open spaces and plenty of outdoor seating. Not the most impressive shopping center I've seen, but definitely something that will give Newport the facelift it desperately needed! ~ Location: Its location is amazing: right in the heart of Newport by the bus and railway station so it gives easy access to anyone who wants to do some shopping. Spytty is great and everything, but a bit out of the way for anyone who doesn't live in the area or drive. It's super awesome that the heart of Newport has a new shopping centre everyone can enjoy. ~ Variety: Since it's just opened, it's hard for me to comment on the variety at present as some stores are still being designed and built. However, right now they have a small selection of great restaurants and some major chains to do shopping such as Next and Debenhams. The cinema is already open as well if you wanted to catch a film. I'm pretty excited for all the spaces at Friars Walk to fill up with different shops and restaurants! --- Opening day was pretty exciting, beginning with a public demolition of an old building as well as live music! Here's to hoping that Friars Walk instills some life back into Newport as well, everyone sorta knew that it was a bit of a dead city let's be honest. I for one am pretty excited to see Friars Walk grow into an awesome shopping centre I know it could be!

It's great for DIY enthusiasts because of the large range of paint, tools and accessories; there's also gardening equipment; lots of household things including a huge kitchen section (tableware, appliances, storage) and home furnishings; toys, craft items, stationery, confectionery, toiletries and cosmetics (at a fraction of the cost of other stores). So much more, plus lots of special offers and reductions as well so it's always worth a look. You can get cash back from here too at no additional charge. The staff always seem very friendly and helpful.

I ordered this laptop on the Littlewoods Ireland website in 5/7. Expected delivery date was 8/7. I…read morereceived an automated message to say it was delayed and estimated arrival date was now 17/7. Having received no tracking number etc. I twice contacted an online customer service representative to ascertain was my order on its way. I asked to be e mailed regarding its status - on both occasions I heard nothing to enlighten me on the status of my order. The 17th passed and still no laptop. I finally phoned customer service and was informed that there were on going problems with this laptop and they were inundated with complaints. Apparently there was a problem with the packing - the Royal Mail were holding the goods as suspected dangerous goods and incinerating the packages! This was possibly what had happened to my laptop but they really had no way of knowing. However there was nothing they could do to refund me my money until 28 days had passed. Infuriated I sent an full complaint to Customer Service regarding my dissatisfaction, I then received an e mail from Customer Service giving me my tracking number and lo and behold the goods having been posted on 7/7 were "stuck" in the international mail center. In an effort to find out what was holding them up (Littlewoods had told me they would not investigate my missing goods till July 28th) I tweeted the Royal Mail who were very helpful and were able to tell me that yes the goods were being held as suspected dangerous goods and it was more than likely due to incorrect labeling or packaging. I have never in my life experienced such appallingly bad Customer Service - I wait with bated breath to see what Littlewoods next move will be - but I in the meantime will actively discourage anyone I can from shopping with them.....ever!

Newport City Centre, is not the best shopping centre to be going to these days. Alot of shops…read moreclosing down, and alot still being done up but you can find your favourite shops probably. All the shops are spread out and it usually does take alot of walking to get to where you want to go. You can go into Kingsway and find Wilkinsons, TopShop, Warren James, Claires, Jessops, Savers, Evans and Bodycare. Along the main street though there is more of a variety of shops from New Look, Greggs, Primark, Sports Direct, JD Sports, Boots, Clintons, Thorntons. Although Newport does have quite a few a stores I'd much rather shop elsewhere, probably Cardiff or Cwmbran
