I've been to this Tesco location at Liverpool 3 times now. Every single visit has been great! You…read morefind treasures around every corner and the sales they have are really good. According to the locals, this is a bigger store than the regular ones. If I get a chance to visit a regular store, I'll confirm, lol. This one does have 2 levels, and you can take the lift (elevator) or the escaltors escalators. The escalator going down wasn't working the times I've been, but just walk down anyway. They have cashiers for check out as well as self check-out lanes. Prices here are awesome! I'm a huge fan of their bakery bread and the snacks. Their sparkling water game is pretty strong, too. Don't be shocked if I check in here again, lol!

If you're around Liverpool, Tesco's of all versions are dotted around places: metro, local, express, superstore. If there are any more, you'll have to let me know! The Liverpool One branch of Superstore is not actually the most super I have come across in Liverpool as there is one in Litherland which is gargantuan in comparison. However, Liverpool One Tesco is certainly what the town needs. You still have plenty of choice here, a variety of sections such as deli, clothes and international foods to keep you adding more to your basket! I find this place more of a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience as opposed to the Metro version by the big screen, because its more spacious and offers an abundance of products. The location isn't great if you're driving there as it'll cost you pounds to park somewhere nearby but certainly convenient when you have other chores to do around town.

This marvelous grocery store totally surprised me. We travelled by train on this last European…read moretrip, we went back and forth about whether we should drive or train or do a combination of both. We decided on going the train route totally. Driving on the left hand side is not something to choose easily....I have only done it once before in 1982 in Jamaica and it was fine because I was incredibly young and the roads were less travelled back then but it's hard to change. I know many accidents/ deaths that have happened because of this. Anyway we decided to do the train bit. When we arrived at the York train station we had some time to wait so Joe said " Go check out the Booths" I already knew this is a grocery store chain in England and had seen it before But I was blown away at this one and was surprised to find it at the Windermere train station. I spent a good 45 minutes in there and purchased many items for our next destination. Beautiful produce and it also had a whole bakery area and a area with pharmacy type items too. When Joe insisted I go honestly I was a bit annoyed like Why? Lol Great store! Best in town!

Booths by a wide margin is the largest and nicest grocery store in Windermere. Excellent selection…read moreof produce, international and British staples, and a massive wine and liquor section. I made several Thai dishes and Booths had all the necessary ingredients from fish sauce to palm sugar to dried kaffir lime leaves. Prices are much lower and the selection much larger than you'd find in London. Try £26 for a bottle of Veuve, and yes we bought a case for Christmas lunch! If you're self catering in the Lake District and are looking for quality well above your average Tesco Express, be sure to make the drive to Booths.

This branch of Waitrose is located in the Capitol Retail Park in Walton le-Dale which is a large…read morevillage which shares the postcode area with Preston, in Lancashire, as I recall this is the only main Waitrose store which isn't in a motorway service which is in Lancashire, the only other branch being at Charnock Richard services in Chorley, and the nearest other main store (not including Little Waitrose) being 35.3 miles away in Formby, Merseyside, so this is a rare store in this area and it is a nice brand to have. This branch of Waitrose is a decent size and does include numerous counters including a Deli and a Bakery and of course also has quite a large cafe and scan as you shop facilities, in which you can use an in-store scanner or the mobile app. The staff seemed better trained in putting this through regular tills rather than the self-service ones, compared to other stores which have struggled in the past such as Wilmslow. The car parking area for the store is decent, of course, it is shared by the rest of the retail park, but I didn't have any trouble parking when I visited, perhaps it was because I visited reasonably late on a Saturday evening. The selection of frozen foods here was non-existent, and I found the free from range to be especially poor which was a shame, they did have a few nice Waitrose One products including various flavours of gelato, albeit on the pricey sides at £3 a pot. They did appear to have a few nice food counters too, such as a counter for deli, cheese and bakery etc. The regular gluten free selection was decent, they even sold Walkers Shortbread and Gluten-Free Hot Cross buns which was satisfactory. I did have a slight issue with the layout of the store at times, it was hard to find certain things I needed such as sausages. The store did also have a nice small home section, yet the store was slightly understaffed, even though those I did speak to seemed helpful, when I got lost around the store trying to find something they weren't always there which was a shame, although the store wasn't as badly staffed as some other supermarkets I have visited either such as Morrisons in Whitefield. This Waitrose store is a nice store in its' location and a rare one in the Preston/Lancashire area too, the free-form range is good and most of the store is satisfactory, and although it isn't the "best" Waitrose store, it is far from the worst either and I think deserves a solid three-star rating.
