This store has got so many bad reviews that decided to exit Google, so you can't find any Google…read morereviews for this shop anymore. Those reviews here belong to a long time ago when an old lady was managing the store and customers were happy. As long as Abdul, the new agent is running the store, it is awful! In fact the current seller of this shop is not a normal person at all. The shop pretends to be a cheap place, while has some bad quality stuff with triple the price of similar stuff in other shops and never cuts a key which can work at all. The man in the bright day light takes your money without any shame and then accuses you of racism! He charged me £7 to cut 2 keys, not working. twice I took them to the shop for a refund. The third time he refunded me on my debit card. The next day I checked and realized rather than refunding he had taken another £7! I went there, burst into anger and asked for my £14 or will call the police! He was laughing at me what did the police do? When he noticed I was serious, refunded me in cash. There was a CCTV there, recording all that happened. He lied to the police I spat on him and called him a bad name! It is now recorded in the police station. In the future, be aware if he wants to play the race card, he has at least one record in this regard at the police station BE MINDFUL WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD, HE GETS MONEY OUT OF IT WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT AND WITH NO SHAME, IN THE BRIGHT DAYLIGHT!

The issue with the Tescos is that unless you come at the start of the day after they have completed…read morea fruitful stocking night the shelves will be half empty, it will be mind-bogglingly busy and there may be stuff everywhere. However as this place is so huge you'll probably still find what you are looking for. Since I've lived in Oxford I've come here about a dozen or so times. We tend to try and stick to mid evening as the crowds die down a bit and they are not quite into their horrible restocking mode. Generally you can find fresh products and a wide selection of near everything (do not come to this Tescos if you are looking for home goods/ electronics/ etc). The prices as it is Tescos are decent. The staff are generally friendly as long as you're not getting the end of shift crowd. PROS: Large selection Good quantity of stock Price CONS: Gets ultra busy Leftover stock can be of bad quality Other side of the ring road.

This is known fairly widely as 'Big Tesco', to distinguish it from the Tesco on Cowley Road, and it…read morecertainly lives up to the name. It's got a huge range of items, although no adult clothing (other than underwear) or much in the way of electronics/media/toys, unlike even bigger stores. For groceries, though, it's got a lot to offer. Fruit and veg are of good quality and usually well-stocked. The deli and fresh fish counters offer a lot of choice, and they even have a large 'Polish food' section. They have two 'car trolleys' which amuse small (and big) kids greatly, and make the shopping trip easier with children who are too big for the trolley seats but too small to walk all the way around without whining. Staff are friendly and helpful, and offers on food are good value.

Iceland - Parking lot, front entrance

Iceland

Another sort of UK shopping experience is Iceland, which has nothing to do with Reykjavik or that…read moreash-spewing volcano. Iceland is all about frozen. Five double aisles of bunkers of frozen foods. Lots of pizzas, but also burgers and entrees and chicken and fish and potatoes and other vegetables and party foods and ready meals. All at less than 0 degrees (32 degrees Fahrenheit). Along the back of the store is the limited selection of produce and dairy items (yes, even in the UK, the milk is as far away from the front door as it is in the US) and the final aisle is the boxed stuff, such as cookies and cereals and bread and a limited selection of household chemicals (cleaning stuff) and detergent and loo rolls ("toilet paper" in American). You can't do a full shop here (unless you really like frozen food) but you can certainly gather up a good selection of stuff. One thing that's really interesting is Iceland's pricing scheme. Everything is rounded to the nearest £1. Almost everything in the store is £1 or £2 or £3 and a few things are £4. I thought the prices were in line with Tesco and Asda. (The 8-pack of Carlsberg bottles was £4 compared to £5 in Sainsbury's!) If you're someone like me (on a budget) this rounded-off pricing makes it really easy to keep track of how much stuff you have in your trolley ("wagon" or "cart"). Because my flat ("apartment") has a very small fridge with a freezer barely big enough for two pizza boxes, Iceland probably isn't the ideal place for me to shop. Also, I like fresh vegetables and fresh bread. But if you have a full size freezer and especially if you like already-prepared foods you cook in your oven or microwave, then Iceland is the place for you.
