The book selection is great and they have charms and stickers for all ages. The space is cozy and charming, the staff were incredibly kind. My kids especially loved the dogs! It was also refreshing to find a place in rural Oklahoma that encourages open-minded, progressive conversation and creates a welcoming space for ideas. I'm looking forward to attending events and continuing to support this wonderful local business.

I didn't love pretty books until Novel Idea ... I loved to read, but I didn't know the books…read morethemselves could be so beautiful! I picked up an author I didn't know because the cover was shiny, and now I've read 5 of her books. One new book I grabbed from the book club list, another couple with pretty bindings ... One of those turned into reading a 3-book series and a 13-book series all this year. All that to say, I've been inspired having a well-curated, community-centered book shop in town. They just celebrated 2 years, and I'm eager for what the next 2 bring! Most recently I made it to one of their book festivals. I had no idea Oklahoma had so many talented independent writers, and it filled me with pride to see them showcased (and get to buy their books!). They do three a year, definitely worth the trip.

What a joke this place is. We have used these guys before and they were alright, but this time…read morearound we received such terrible customer service. I called the day before and they told me they would for sure be able to fit me in today. When I called in the morning they said that they'd be there in the afternoon. I called again and they said between 1-5pm. I was annoyed, but I get it things happen. After 5pm I'm still patiently waiting and someone finally shows up, with the worst attitude possible around 5:30ish. He doesn't tell me anything about what the issues were, doesn't tell me the cost prior to completing the repair- nothing. He was just throwing a tantrum the whole time( maybe he was supposed to be off, idk) This is where I felt the MOST disrespected. When I asked what the issue was and what all parts needed to be replaced all he said was, " I dug it up, found the leak and fixed it." Cool- like can you be more specific since i told you where the leak was? Then his crappy attitude came back out so I just left it alone. I asked for the receipt and for him to write down the issue on the receipt - legit writes down the same thing.. and this is where it gets good- CHARGES ME 5 dollars for the receipt?! What the heck?! I felt like I was being scammed for the service so of course I wanted the receipt so I paid for the receipt. Wild, I know. But anywho- don't use the Waterloo location. Crappy service, disrespectful, and will scam you.

Everyman makes Stillwater better. Love the "mom & pop shop" feel. Even though their BEST barber,…read moreDestiny, is no longer there, this is still one of the best places to get a solid fade. (I know, personal opinion.) Adrian has only cut my hair once, but he will not disappoint on the fade. I've bought cologne from EM, coffee (fantastic), cold brew equipment, shampoo, etc. I've been impressed by everything I bought. They are a bit pricey on some things, but nothing unexpectedly expensive. To all my Stillwater folks, give EM a try if you haven't already! Some critiques: It can be a challenge to schedule a journeyman/senior barber on Saturdays. A lot of us are doing the whole 8-5 thing, and Saturday is almost always the best day to get a fresh cut. Not that big of a deal, but I wish it were easier. It was easier in the past (1 year ago and prior). Also, the other day I went in to buy some coffee for myself and my wife, and when I asked for a medium roast... I was told that "we don't believe in that, but we have coffee beans from here, there, etc..." Now, as a black coffee enthusiast, it felt like that comment was a departure from reality. I brushed it off and chose by origin instead of roast... I hope that's not an attempt to fight racism or something. How beans are roasted make a huge difference in taste, how they are brewed, even ground. This incident happened a few weeks ago (March 2023). Some of that is just nitpicking, but I really love going to EM. I also look forward to their expansion!
