Back with an update after receiving a reply from Eric 7 years later…read more To be clear, I saw Eric for exactly one session and never returned. I left that appointment feeling dismissed, unsupported, and frustrated, especially given the mental state I was in at the time. There was no follow-up care or meaningful guidance that made me feel safe continuing. I'm not sure who Eric is remembering, but it is not me. Eric's response does not reflect what actually happened. I did not "work with him" or make "great strides" under his care. I had one appointment and chose not to return. After this experience, I found a different therapist who actually helped me, and that made a significant difference in my life. In hindsight, choosing not to return here was absolutely the right decision. A provider publicly posting inaccurate accounts of patient experiences years later is something to seriously consider if you're looking for trustworthy mental health care.

I really thought my son would end up in juvenile hall. Eric took the time to listen, gave my son his voice, and a safe space to express his emotions. Fast forward to 2024, my son just graduated in May with his BA in Allied Science and Exercise Health. It takes a village and Eric was part of my child's success. We are very grateful for your part in helping my son find his path.

Liza is gentle, calming, and very intuitive. What I appreciated most was the way she held the space with such respect and kindness. She guided the session gently, without pressure, and allowed everything to unfold in a way that felt natural and deeply healing. After the session, I felt peace, and gratitude. Liza helped me connect with my ancestors on a deeper level and gave me a sense of lightness and understanding that stayed with me afterward. I am truly thankful and feel blessed to have done a Family Constellation with Liza, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for healing, insight, and a meaningful experience with an expert and gifted healer like her.

I would describe the session as both powerful and supportive. I left feeling more certain and confident about my next steps, especially in understanding my relationship and dynamics with my father. Liza has a very peaceful and grounded presence. The way she speaks is soothing and comforting, which made it easy to feel safe and open during the process. That sense of safety really allowed me to engage with the work in a meaningful way. What stood out most was the clarity I gained. It helped me better understand underlying family dynamics and patterns that I hadn't fully seen before. I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling with family relationships, generational patterns, or even just a sense that something deeper is influencing their life but they can't quite pinpoint it. It was absolutely worth my time, and I would do it again.

I often thank her for saving me and she is always quick to reply, "Mark, you are the one that has done the work". Although this may be true, she has been my guide to do the "right" work so that ultimately I could process life's struggles in a better way and find the peace and grace inside my being that I always wanted. I have been a firefighter for 18 years and I have seen a lot of tragedy in that time. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist, Genny served in law enforcement for 13 years. Knowing this fact about her immediately garnered my attention because I knew she understood the realities of my occupation. I had seen a number of therapists prior but just never felt that rapport I had with Genny from our very first phone conversation. It was natural, organic and without pressure. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I really did not want to start up with therapy again but knew I needed to ask for help. I believe that me finding her was not by accident, just as I believe that you reading this endorsement is not coincidental. She may not be the right therapist for you, but then again, maybe she is the one. For me, I reached out to her to simply assist me with PTSD related to 911 calls I had experienced. And we have definitely tended to those incidents and the trauma. But what I came to discover was that I had a lot of layers to uncover and work on in my own personal life. That has made all the difference. There has never been any pressure to talk about any specific facets of my life. I tell my story and she guides me through to help present perspective so that I may find the solution. You cannot control your environment and the people in it many times. But you can choose to reach out for help, put the work into you and ultimately find yourself in a better state of grace despite all that life throws our way. My hope is that by sharing my story and work with Genevieve Altwer, LMFT, it can help save one life. If it does, then it will have been worth it. Take care of you. Mark.

Dr. Dufford returned my call promptly and he was very kind and understanding to my situation as usual. Sadly, Dr. Dufford was not able to fit me in as a returning patient at the time that I called, Dr. Dufford instead gave me a referral to two other Psychologists that specialize in treating the Complex PTSD that I suffer from and was recently diagnosed with. Dr. Michelle Chabbot was the Psychologist that I first reached out to following the multiple traumatic events that led to my Complex PTSD diagnoses and that caused my PTSD Panic Attack. I study Psychology myself, and I was very shaken when I contacted Dr. Chabbot, as I'd never experienced at PTSD Panic Attack before, and I never even knew that someone could suffer from something as terrible as a PTSD Panic Attack. Dr. Chabbot answered the phone immediately, and she was kind and caring enough to take the time to help me immediately. She even answered some emergency questions that I had regarding my recent Complex PTSD diagnoses and the PTSD Panic Attack that I suffered. Dr. Chabbot did all of this for me during her time off on the weekend, when she was out of town on vacation. Talking with Dr. Chabbot, meant so very much to me. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Chabbot and I immediately knew that I was in good hands with regards to finding help to treat my Complex PTSD Disability. I'll be continuing my treatment with Dr. Chabbot moving forward, and I'll be sure to update my review along the way as well. I can tell Dr. Chabbot is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable Psychologist, and she is exceptionally knowledgeable and gifted in the area of PTSD especially. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Chabbot/Dr. Dufford, if you are ever in need. I also urge anyone reading this to reach out to Dr. Dufford/Dr. Chabbot if you are in any need of mental healthcare. It's vital to seek the aid of a Psychologist if you've ever experienced going through a traumatic life event (such as a car accident, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, Ableist bullying, really anything that happens that is traumatic in life, can potentially lead to PTSD I'm told. On top of this, in my own personal experience, PTSD appears to me to be a self fueling condition/ mental illness/disability, meaning that PTSD can worsen over time, if left untreated. What this means is that, it's vital to seek the help of a qualified mental healthcare professional immediately following a traumatic life event. If one doesn't immediately get the treatment that one needs, ones PTSD could quickly worsen, that and one could easily develop "layers" of PTSD, from multiple traumatic events as well. In addition to this, PTSD can also VERY QUICKLY develop into a life threatening condition/mental illness/disability, so please don't ever hesitate to get seek immediate help. Even if you just suspect you might need help, then immediately seek out that help as your mental health can quickly worsen, leaving you in a life threatening situation.
