I haven't needed to use an electician for years but, a couple of weeks ago, my main fuse box…read more'tripped' and I couldn't get it to reset. Consequently, I had no power and something of a problem. Looking in the local free paper, I had a choice of 3 or 4 electricians who might be able to help. It was incredibly lucky that I decided to ring VIR. Dave (or should it be David ?) turned up in no time at all and got to work. The problem couldn't be permanently fixed there and then, but he managed to apply a temporary fix and gave me good advice don't use the dodgy old steam iron. 10 days or so later, he's fitted a new modern fuse box (apparently called a 'consumer unit' these days), sorted out a problem in the circuit that was probably my fault, and left me with a happy feeling and a fully functioning system. The service was provided by a very friendly chap and all at a very decent price, too. 4 stars is the least he's worth but I can't give more because there's always the chance that it might all go pear-shaped next week ! I don't think it will and I am confident that if there is any problem, he'll return and sort it out, post haste. This is a business that I'll happily recommend to friends and acquaintances without fear of them being disappointed.

Absolutely amazing service. We had to have our house rewired unexpectedly when we brought the…read moreproperty. Mace Electrical - Simon came straight out for a quote. He walked through the house with me and guided me through what needed doing. We went room by room, and answered all my questions in detail. Mace Electrical quoted and there was no pressure from them and gave me quotes for different options which was great especially on a budget. We had no doubt in the capability, professionalism, knowledge and approachability Simon showed us. Through the house rewire, Simon kept me updated and gave me options when small issues cropped up due to changes from other trades also working on the house, he had a great working relationship with other trades as well. We decided due to how Simon was, we went ahead and had extras done in terms of outside electrics to the garage, this was due to trusting Simon on his reasonable pricing. On the day of the rewire being completed, I had a walk through the house with Simon to have everything explained and shown the new changes, most importantly all certificates were sent direct to me by the end of the day. Simon went above and beyond my expectations and I would not be going anywhere else for electrics in the future. I would be happy to give Simon (Mase Electic) as a recommendation to anyone who needs anything doing electrical. Trustworthy, reliable, approachable and confident in the service he delivers

Earlier this week my low wattage night light stopped working. I looked first on the internet and…read morefound that a similar light was only available in sets of two and would cost about eleven pounds. It seemed wrong to just throw the old one away and i didn't need two lights anyway so I decided to pop into Warmeads, whom I have always found helpful, and see if they could sort the problem for me. Straight away the young man on the sales counter examined the light, got out a screwdriver, tested first the fuse then the bulb. It was the bulb. He got me a new bulb screwed it all back together and there it was: good as new in five minutes. The cost? Only £2.26p. I do not know the young mans' name but I know that he could not have been more helpful so, Thank you, Warmeads.

We were not greeted by any of the 3 women supposedly serving. 1 stood behind the counter (leaning), 1 in front and 1 sitting. Not a word to us. They were busy talking with each other. We spent 10 minutes looking around, looked at them - did they look back? No. Found a lamp we liked (we would have bought 4 - not a word or look from the staff). Owner you can see them busy at "work" in my picture attached. If you have a job like this for me where I can talk with my friends all day and get paid please let me know! Needless to say we left without a purchase
