We have stayed both in our camper and in their cabins and had great experiences with both. If you watch their Facebook page they have events like hay rides, cardboard boat races, scavenger hunts, haunted trail rides and etc. The campground is quiet but has easy access to Poteau, OK for stores and restaurants as well. You just really can't go wrong with Long Lake Resort!

My nephew was burned by the hot ash their septic workers dumped right next to a PLAYGROUND. How careless is that? When this information was brought to them, they didn't show any care or remorse over the situation. As if a toddler being burned by their careless staff wasn't their problem. They have not offered even a refund for the ruined trip or said a simple sorry. They only care about money here. They do not care about you. Do not go here, save your money.

Update; 20 August 2023…read more This place turned out to be really good! After coordinating with a local sheriff's deputy/friend/pastor of our church, we were able to make reservations for the days needed in order to attend my mother's funeral. There is plenty of space in the cottages, including stacked-washer/dryer, kitchenette, small fridge, etc. The PX is close by for small essential items, toiletries, beer, water, etc. We were the only guests in the barracks & cottages for a couple of days, so safety was never an issue. I highly recommend this hidden gem! Is there an Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) comment link for this establishment?

I was given very simple directions to the cottage that I had reserved. I arrived and found everything in working order. Very nice accommodations and very comfortable. I came into town to drop off my daughter to the local university (UofA at Fort Smith) and decided to stay at Ft. Chaffee because it is fairly close to the campus. I had my daughter, wife and mother with me. The 2bedroom cottage works perfectly for us for this 2 night stay. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.

I work remote IT security and own a motorhome, and volunteered to bring her down while I worked. Thankfully I can work from anywhere. T-mobile signal is great from this location (I have T-mobile internet in my motorhome, Starlink when I need to break it out, but I didn't have to in this case). The stay was $40 a night. Met the owner, he was nice, the process was simple, the location was beautiful, had all the electrical, water, sewage, everything was great. It was the closest location to the convention center we found. We were initially going to stay at the state park, which is apparently only $25 a night, but frankly it was 13 miles away and the check in process is confusing on the state park site, so we just stayed at Over The Hill. I recommend it!
