Came to Terraza De Vivi for a rooftop dinner. We were surprised that a city as bustling as Barcelona was not very well lit for the night which kind of downplayed the view after sunset. This bar does have a direct view of La Sagrada Familia over the pool but right now, the cathedral is undergoing construction so it was a view of scaffolding and tyvex tonight which wasn't great.
For bites, we went with some classic tapas like crusty bread with tomato and jamon to pair with it and patatas bravas but also added in a Caesar-like salad and a grilled beef tenderloin.
For me, the standout dish was the beef tenderloin with chimichurri and a thin slice of Parmesan on top. The beef was tender and the chimichurri added a nice acidity while the cheese provided the right balance. The jamon was very nice (as usual) but the tomato toast was way too toasty which didn't allow the tomatoes to shine. I really liked the presentation of the salad with chopped leaves sitting inside a baby romaine leaf but I thought fried chicken tenders were a little out of place. Lastly the patata bravas we're done very well. It wasn't overly fried and both sauces were delicious!
For my drink I went with the rose but found it a bit drier than expected. Having said that, I have learned that Spain likes things on the dry side so it was really an oversight by me. It was still good though!
I enjoyed my time tonight! read more
