Terminex is Awesome. Fred is now regional manager and is an excellent communicator. The bait traps set originally was to eliminate termites but we have not seen ants now for over a year! I believe these underground ant nests are eating the termite pellets, too! We will hireTerminix team every year to help with pest control! read more

I was scheduled for an estimate and told sorry we will schedule you the following Monday because we can't make that date. Monday comes and they want to reschedule an hour late after I'd already changed my plans. They won't be getting my business. read more

Lack of communication and follow through. Termite control , what a joke, we now have lots of termites.

I'll be blunt. We had some weird dust in one of our garage cabinets and were selling the house. Called Terminex who said we had termites in the garage and kitchen. They sent an agreement of service for over 3K. The day they were due to arrive a friend of mine said- you don;t have termites. I cancelled the serivce. We had another inspection and guess what? No termites. Be very very wary. read more

The Local Terminix rep.is friendly and knowledgeable . Unfortunately they use a 3rd party pest service. I can understand getting behind and running into roadblocks. what I don't accept or understand the lack of communication zero nada. I was required to be at the property when they arrived which was supposed to be at 1:30 to 2:30 called the Terminix rep who had to call them to have them call me only to inform me they would be an additional 2 to 2.5 late. I was led to believe I needed to be out of the house for 3 or more days. I booked a hotel for 4 days which with meals in Kona added another 1400.00 to my fumigation tab of 4200.00. Again they never contacted me until I called Terminix. Frustrating and expensive. The day I signed on the dotted line Terminix took my card info 14 days later I get a notice they could not process my card. Of course not I called my card co the day of the transaction to verify the charged. They drug their feet and the authorization expired. Had to do it all over again. My advise go local, use and pay the same company price is the same. read more

This is the damage by terminix who termites our house. They farmed it out to Pest. There people acknowledged the damage and now they won't pay for their damage! I certainly didn't have this damage before they came! I do not recommend them at all for any tinting to your property. read more

It is a new day at Terminix! A new management team is dedicated to win back customers on the Big Island; one great service provided at a time. Fred, the District Manager came by and stayed awhile to help rid us of our massive ant infestation. With many fruit trees that surround the house, we had allot of nest that he showed me along the way. He drilled holes into the ground and set bail traps everywhere. Fred really did an amazing job! He searched for access points under the house; drilled holes next to ant nests and sprinkled ant bait. He showed me and we watched the ants carry away bait to their nests. I have never seen a pest control specialist care as much as Fred cared about providing awesome service and be as nice and professional. Eric was great too. He will share the payment program which is now a monthly fee and they are scheduled quarterly. But, call them when you need them and they will schedule at your convenience. Really, I am blown away. Epic! Try them, you'll be impressed! Write me if you like my review. read more

Incredibly expensive termite inspection on a tiny property. It shouldn't have cost this much. The ordering process was not simple, the other companies in town have it down efficiently and are priced appropriately. read more

Boo! We've been using Terminix for years and the quality of service has really declined over the last year. They only treat every three months, which does not include the inside of the house, as it does with other extermination companies. Needless to say, we have a lot of insect issues, not to mention wasps, which they have never seemed to notice during their regular service visits. The final straw was their utter lack of responsiveness when we had a recent bed bug infestation. It took them five days to respond to our initial request and come out for an inspection. That was it. No follow up. No quote. No response to our repeated inquiries. Four weeks later. Nada. Such a disappointment. Bye-bye Terminix. read more

My positive review of this Kona business is based on interactions I've had with their employees at my house and also with correspondence with the branch manager. We had a roach problem and Terminix went the extra mile to ensure that this was solved. The technician was thoroughly professional and knowledgable about insects and pesticides. I learned from him. Years later we are selling our house and require a termite inspection. A mistake in the billing was quickly resolved to my satisfaction by Lajuan Tarrance. I recommend Kona Terminix. Try to get to know the people behind this business. read more

We have a wasp infestation. I scheduled an appointment and they came as scheduled. But they only did a 1/2 assed job. It looked like they sprayed our tenant's side of our house. But they did not spray our side. Or at least they did not knock down the nests. Well the wasps are back on BOTH sides and they have returned to their old nests AND added more nests! I was rescheduled for today August 7th from 10-12. I was there from 10-12. I have to go to work at 12:30! NO SHOW! NO EXPLANATION! NO CALL as to why they didn't show up as scheduled! And their customer service SUCKS! I've tried calling their national and local number. At one point I got cut off after waiting 15 minutes. I hope they have recorded every curse word I've uttered because I'm NOT happy! read more

I have been with Terminix for over twenty years. They were a good company at one time but the last five years i have been disappointed. They will spot treat if it's minor but the inspector must be trained to find excuses for doing minimum work so they can move on to next job. On the last inspection/treatment, the technician treated the most accessible spots. When asked if he would inspect ceiling since we had dropping from ceiling , he made us remove everything in the closet including shelf so he could access scuttle. He popped his head in( if he even did that much) and told us it looked okay. He wasn't in the closet for 5 minutes. He insisted he checked. I am now seeing dropping in same areas except areas we witnessed him treat. Now, here is the real problem, I just tried to make another appointment for inspection and treatment but find it almost impossible to even talk to a representative to make an appointment. The wait is long then given option for call back(one time call back), which was one ring! I'm Done!! Don't Waste your time with this company read more

I am another customer who paid a monthly maintenance fee and couldn't understand why my renters constantly complained about ants everywhere....until the housebound neighbor told me the reason: He had never seen a Terminex employee show up, not once in two years! And he's the type of guy who knew every single happening in the neighborhood. A couple of years of payments for no service! When I complained to Terminex, I was given a lame story about "previous employee problems". Okay, then where's my refund? Terminex should be liable for fraud and made to pay back money they stole. I went to another company and the ant problem disappeared. How hard is it to simply do what you are paid to do? Crooks. read more

I've called them nearly a week ago and they said they'd get back to me in a day or two. I decided to go with a different company. I am sure Terminix is a great company, but you're going to need to hold their hand to make sure things go smoothly. read more

We have fresh & mixed termite droppings that we have had Terminix come out to treat. Even with live termites being seen (their take), they will only spot treat. Our ceilings are now speckled with tape, marking multiple "treatments" --mostly found by us that they overlook-- but more damage to wood and droppings keep appearing. If we call the local number it goes to a call center. I don't know what 'proof' it will take to qualify for a tenting under our service contract. In the meantime our home termite damage is getting worse. At this point we are considering getting a second opinion from another company, before it's too late! read more

I wish I read the review already on Yelp before I choose to do business with these guys. Would have saved us time and money. Dave, the guy that did the bid, said he's also the scheduler and he could get us tented the day we needed. We signed up for the 13th. On the 3rd my wife and kids and I were having trouble scheduling to be out of the house on the night of the 13th and she called and left a message asking if we could move it to the 20th.? Never herd back from them about the change of date. So we bent over backwards to get it ready for the 13th. On Friday the 10th I called and talked to Dave and said we'd made the arrangements to be out of the house on the night of the 13th and wanted to confirm the tenting. He seemed a little confused about who I was and what I was talking about but eventually agreed that the 13th would be fine first thing in the morning before the crews go up to Waikoloa. This morning I called them and asked what time they'd be here and gave the lady my address. She said between 8 and noon. Now at noon I've made more calls and find out that Dave has us scheduled for the 20th but he can get us in for the 14th. Just one more day of us out of the house and taking time off from work. Now he says he can tent to house the afternoon of the 14th. We'll see. As a way of avoiding this sort of ridiculous confusion I'd recommend that Terminex send e-mail confirmations to their customers. Since we are moving our lives around in order to do business with Terminex something written would be a really great idea. I am not optimistic about the out come of my experience with Terminex. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this business. read more

This was the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with and unfortunately we were stuck with them because of a maintenance contract. Three (3) times they rescheduled with us on the morning of the job, and yes all three times we had bagged up all our food from three refrigerators and freezers. Twice we booked a hotel and stayed there for nothing because they never showed up. They damaged are rain gutters, broke two downspouts and crack our one 1" irrigation pipe and didn't even let us know. Getting a hold of someone to help us was impossible, you always had to call the national call center even though it was a local number. I tried to call the corporate office but that was even a nightmare. We were finally reimbursed for the hotel room but it took forever because of mistakes in their office. The only reason they are still in business is because they are a national company. They shouldn't even be allowed to be in business, they wasted so much of our time, I missed work, my 84 year old mother was upset and to top it off my wife was pregnant at the time. One last comment; They even sent us a renewal contract, I could not be leave it, I should of checked Yelp years ago. read more

terrible! Have been a customer since 2003. Started with Pacific Pest Management and it was taken over by terminex. The techs don't call or follow up. Have had to reschedule 3 times now. Not reliable. Terminated this company from working on my farm, home and vacation rental. they lost a good account. read more

This company is horrible! And, totally non-responsive. I have had a warranty plan with them for years. I pay $63 per month. They send people annually to inspect. They inspected two months ago and gave a clean bill. My house is now in escrow and another company did the termite inspection. They found serious termites and recommended fumigation. Terminix refuses to return phone calls, emails or faxes. This has been going on two weeks. I can't close escrow. I have contacted their regional and corporate offices who are also non responsive. I even drove to the kona office and it is locked up. Old mail in the mailbox. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT FRUSTRATION, BAD (or no) SERVICE. read more

This company must be on their way out. Many calls with no response even though we have been a customer for many years. Finally got someone to talk to me and schedule an appointment but they were a no show. No call to cancel just didn't show up and have not been able to talk to anyone since. Have now contacted another company for service. read more

The bank hired these crooks to inspect my home before I sold it and they found termite larva and told the bank that the house must be tented. After tenting the house and trashing my landscaping and breaking a section of my fence I found the same termite larva alive and well. They never even poisoned anything. Do not use them. read more

Be sure and check out the other two 1 star reviews under the same address but spelled Terminex. I have to say that the people they have working for them are nice but if you want nice, call your grandmother. Don't expect her to be an expert on termite eradication. There's a reason that Terminix has such a poor reputation in Kona. They do not do what they promise. We are renting a house that's been under contract with Terminix for over 10 years. The house was tented a long time ago and since then the payments have been faithfully sent in on schedule and there was a false feeling of security knowing that if the house had a major problem we could call them to take care of it. Then we noticed that the termites had started to come back. There has been clear evidence of termites for well over two years. We scheduled treatments and if they came at all, they were always late. They may offer a spot treatment and then declare that the infestation was not active. At this point, the only thing keeping our house up are the termites holding hands. We were able to finally get an inspector that would agree that the house required more than spot treatment and a tenting was scheduled. (Did we mention that it was only because he didn't know we were under contract?) Everyone was extremely nice while scheduling. We were assured that the tenting would take place and there would be no problems. They started the tenting and then realized that they did not have the correct truck. Our house was too tall. Mind you, that when the appointment was scheduled we were VERY clear that a boom truck would likely be necessary as it had to be used the first time. They canceled the tenting and said we would be rescheduled within a couple of days. This was 22 days ago. Trying to call the company is a frustrating experience because finding the local number is nearly impossible. 50% of the time calling the 'local office' results in reaching someone in a call center in Arizona that slaughters the name of our town and can't pronounce the street name. Speaking to the call center is also frustrating because they are limited by whatever scant notes are in their database. Leaving voicemails and messages for the manager that was so nice when we were scheduling results in zero calls back. We were able to find out through a call center and finally a successful call into the local office that they really tried but they will not be tenting our house after all. Instead they're going to refund the money that was paid over the years for their joke of protection. read more

Very poor customer service. We have had a maintenance contract with Terminix Kona for the last 4 years and each year we have the same issues - the service technician does not turn up during the appointment window. We wait for hours and stay well after the appointment window time - and there is no phone call to advise he is late or cannot come. We then get an email advising that nobody was home so the inspection could not be completed. Avoid this company, it is either a deliberate scam, or extremely poorly managed. read more

I left a review of 1 as that is a low as I could go on Feb 28. 2017. After over one year I am will waiting to get my house tented that is under warranty. This is the most frustrating company ever, I have no clue how they stay in business. Have to be supported by corporate. They do not show up for tenting, they do not call, I have a long list with corporate trying to get this house tented, but they just do not care about customer service. Everyone BEWARE DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY You will be sorry and have hours and hours of aggravation trying to make them do their job, which they will not do. read more

We had terrible service from another provider. We called Terminex and they have been wonderful! The tech follows-up and really cares about the service. We had to call because of returning pests and they responded right away and resolved the issues at no additional cost to us. I highly recommend Terminex if you want dependable and thorough pest control. Sorry that you had a bad experience Marty. Ours is completely different. read more

Worst customer service and scheduling ever. You will burn up huge time with this compnay in Kona. I fired them once and made mistake of rehiring when I was told I could set time with a specific technician, who would learn what I want done. The problem is I was not getting notice of service by email or phone. They would show w/o notice while house was rented. Renters don't want it service. I was off Island. I thought we had fixed schedule problems, but no, when I got email for service today between 10-12 today, I called the tech on Friday and told him the vacation renters check out at 11. Can he come between 11:30 and 12? He said "yes", I was happy as this avodied me having to reschedule. AT 9:40 I get call from new tech. He is at house and wants to service and I am in area with bad cell service. Renters are still there!!! After many calls and much of my valuable time, it appears that Garrett never put it on schedule, or was totally confused. In any event, this is the problem with this company, the scheduling is totally unreliable. I fired them again and want my prepayment back!!! read more

Absolute worst experience ever with their termite tenting service. We had 3 bids done & all were within $300 of each-other, with Terminix being the most expensive. We decided to go with Terminix because they are the most well known & we have 3 pest control accounts with them for our business and vacation rentals. David was our initial inspector / sales person. We scheduled the tenting & went through the training of what we had to do to prepare. The night before and morning of the initial appointment, spent 8 hours cleaning out the refrigerator & freezer, double bagging everything from our cabinets and drawers, packed up our suitcases, etc. Crew was due to be here at 10 am & was a no-show. Called David repeatedly & left multiple messages with no return call that day. Called him the next morning & he answered, said that the Maui crew was going to come over and do our job, but they couldn't make it and they were supposed to call us and let us know. (They didn't . . . nice of him to be our contact person and put it on them.) Set up 2nd appointment for 2 weeks later. Went through he whole drill again, and they cancelled at 9:45am . . . 15 min. prior to their scheduled arrival time. Third time, new manager LaJuan (no idea what happened to David) said that we were to deal with him directly & he promised that he would "make things right", "take care of us" and "get the job done". We re-scheduled appointment and re-confirmed twice prior to the date. Went through the crazy fire drill for the 3rd time . . . packing everything up, boarding the dog, setting up a hotel to stay in, etc., all while having company in town visiting from the mainland. Crew was to be here between 8am & 10am. The crew called at 9am and said it would be between 2pm & 3pm. They showed up at 2:30, but this time with the wrong size crane to make it up our driveway and do the job. The tech (with Terminix 1 year) was polite & understanding, but he said that there was nothing that he could do to make it happen today. He said that Terminix Kona has these problems all the time (having to cancel appointments, employees getting yelled at by customers, scheduling conflicts, etc. . . . I would attribute it all to incompetent management.) We called LaJuan, new Kona Manager, multiple times & finally got in touch with him (he said he was very busy in meetings) and he basically said that they were cancelling the contract and he didn't care about our job, our time, or the nightmare fire drills that they put us though 3 TIMES IN A ROW. We've had 2 bad days & 1 nightmare day (today) preparing for this service. We just cancelled our 3 Terminix pest control contracts and will never use them again for anything. My advice . . . if you are on the west side of the Big Island, check the other Yelp reviews, and pick absolutely anything except Terminix. Shouldn't be hard . . . every single one has better reviews. My apology for such a long review . . . it just mirrors our long nightmare experience with Terminix Kailua-Kona. read more
