Rignano Sull'Arno, Italy Tuscany region…read more Print out directions prior to arriving. This is another property many have a difficult time finding due to it being a new property and off of a dirt road and up a hill. A kind local Italian gent steered us in the correct direction. We had a very relaxing stay at this property. We took day trips to Florence and Sienna from this location. Built March 2019, this property once a private residence is now modern luxury resort in Tuscany. The rooms are brand new and spacious, we had a suite with dining and living room. We had a whirlpool hot tub in our room but never got the chance to use it, used the pool instead. The pool and outdoor dining spaces were thoroughly enjoyed. There are mosquitoes on the property as in much of Tuscany region, they have bug spray if you need it, and a plug in electric bug repellent. We noticed many got good rates, ours was higher due to booking last minute and also requesting a suite. Parking and Breakfast are included. Both nights we chose to dine at the property which is not inexpensive. One night was stellar, the other just so so. Breakfast was adequate, the scrambled eggs were too rich, I think they were made with heavy cream, the granola and jams were outstanding.

They had a lovely continental breakfast every morning, which we ate in the garden overlooking the incredible view and hillside of the Tuscan landscape. I highly recommend this hotel over something that lacks the views.

The room itself was just beautiful with a lovely bathroom. The staff were super friendly and the whole experience just first rate. The hotel is convenient to all the attractions, great restaurants and also a nice little supermarket. They have an electric kettle and instant coffee in the room as well as a fridge. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a coffee before heading out for the day. They do offer parking for 10 Euros a day, and clear instructions on how to get in and out of the City without getting fined! Remember, the City center is a no drive area for non residents. Just do as the hotel indicates and you will be fine. The other recommendation is to book directly, they assured me they charge less than going through Booking or Expedia and will also discount if you pay in cash.

We stayed in the villa which had perfect wifi, nice bedroom sizes (bed kinda felt like a cot though) and a kitchen with cookware/utensils/wine glasses etc. We had dinner here one night where I had my favorite gnocchi of the whole trip (melts in your mouth) and their breakfast spread was really delicious with cheese, meats, and the freshest juiciest tomatoes I've ever had. Besides all of these wonderful features, the price was also unbeatable. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for the curvy roads and we had rented a huge SUV (Italy is not made for big cars!!), so that made our stay more stressful than it had to be because I feared anytime we had to drive / leave the premises for the winery, dinner etc. The staff was unbelievably generous and understanding when we adjusted our plans to only stay 2 rather than 4 nights, and we could not be more grateful. We were sad to leave because the villa was the perfect size for our group of 5, and the hotel was perfect besides the distance from our plans / roads. I'd recommend staying here if you are looking to relax and stay on premises for most of the weekend; it has a very quiet, homey bed+breakfast feel that we loved.

Very windy, blind turns and narrow. Oh and the locals drive quickly. Because of our fears of having a head on collision we left the hotel earlier than expected. The owners/managers were very accommodating to the unexpected change. They handled the situation perfectly. The hotel its self was everything I would of wanted in a Tuscany stay. The most beautiful views, great food and very nice room. We stayed in the villa in the back of the building. 2 floors, with 3 potential beds, it was really nice and comfortable. The pool area was very clean, very pretty and a nice size pool. The restaurant at the hotel was one of our favorite meals we had. Limited selection of food but a changing menu (daily), they want you to order ahead of time, and they have 3 course or 4 course option. We were not that hungry and only ordered 2-3 courses per person and they adjusted the price accordingly. Another amazing job by management. If you are brave enough for the roads and don't mind driving 1 hr + to any of the highlights of Tuscany this hotel is more than a treat.

Great Location. very close to San Domenico's church and several restaurants (though a short walk to Il Campo where the evening action is, it's still a totally conveninent location b/c you SHOULD be walking around Siena!) They have several rooms w/ incredible views of the city. First come first serve so book early! Our double room w/ private bath was clean, comfortable and had a better private bathroom than i was expecting (separately enclosed shower, not the size of a tin can, etc) It's a converted convent so don't expect the W hotel Nice buffet breakfast included (pastries, yogurt, coffee/espresso, nuuutelllaaaa, and fruit) Conveniently bookable online/via email. internet access in a common room for a couple euros. Cons: Walls are thin. I could hear a couple talking next door at night but, happily buzzed on red wine, I fell asleep anyways Front desk personnel are polite but not friendly. They answer questions but dont offer up much more. not really a con but just an FYI, We were younger than the average guest by a good 30 years. Lots of senior citizens with their valuables in a pouch wrapped around their neck. Just saying.. You're going to be spending a lot in Italy. Hotels, trains, food. Save a little and stay here. You get great quality for what you pay.

"LOCATION... LOCATION... LOCATION!!!"…read more This was our second stay at The Alma Domus, and the first since they remodeled half of the rooms... And they did a fabulous job!!! We stayed at the Alma Domus for few nights back in 2010 and promised ourselves we'd go back... We just stayed for 2 nights in mid-June 2015 and it was incredible!!! Our small group of 12 booked six of the larger remodeled rooms on the top floor with the views of the historic center and the Duomo and we were blown away!!! So location is the #1 reason to stay at The Alma Domus, just a 2-3 minute walk to Piazza del Campo... and Incredible Value is reason #2. The newly remodeled rooms and bathrooms are wonderfully appointed for a hotel in this price range!!! We had large superior triple rooms in the mid june high season for 110 euro and quad rooms for 125 euro... all with views, balconies, air-conditioning, and breakfast!!! I don't think you can find better value in Siena with this location, the charm and quaintness, and the amenities... Both the bathroom amenities(shampoo, soap, etc) and the free breakfast are very basic but fully adequate... If you can't live without your L'Occitane shampoo, and french milled soap, bring your own... Breakfast is simple but nice; juices, coffees, teas, cappuccino, espresso, croissants, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, sweet cakes, etc... The staff at the hotel was so friendly & helpful to our little group of friends and we found this hotel to be just magical... Waking up to the morning church bells just adds to the magic!!! Thanks Alma Domus for a truly wonderful stay, we'll be back soon!!!
