No one said a word about this at check in. Unprofessional. Next up I tried to take a shower and found lukewarm water. Disappointing. The shower controls have a safety button to keep one from blasting hot water but even a full tilt the water is just lukewarm. Unprofessional.

That being said we did choose to rent a car for these 3 days of our trip and I feel that is definitely in your best interest to do if you're staying here but also want to see wineries around the area and Florence. This place is about 30 minutes outside of Florence which we made that drive twice, once to explore the city and once to do a guided wine tour that left from Florence. The sunset here was beautiful, the room was clean, and the staff was so nice. We got massages in the spa as well and they were incredible. If you want to feel like you're experiencing the beauty of Tuscany I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is another property many have a difficult time finding due to it being a new property and off of a dirt road and up a hill. A kind local Italian gent steered us in the correct direction. We had a very relaxing stay at this property. We took day trips to Florence and Sienna from this location. Built March 2019, this property once a private residence is now modern luxury resort in Tuscany. The rooms are brand new and spacious, we had a suite with dining and living room. We had a whirlpool hot tub in our room but never got the chance to use it, used the pool instead. The pool and outdoor dining spaces were thoroughly enjoyed. There are mosquitoes on the property as in much of Tuscany region, they have bug spray if you need it, and a plug in electric bug repellent. We noticed many got good rates, ours was higher due to booking last minute and also requesting a suite. Parking and Breakfast are included. Both nights we chose to dine at the property which is not inexpensive. One night was stellar, the other just so so. Breakfast was adequate, the scrambled eggs were too rich, I think they were made with heavy cream, the granola and jams were outstanding.

They do offer parking for 10 Euros a day, and clear instructions on how to get in and out of the City without getting fined! Remember, the City center is a no drive area for non residents. Just do as the hotel indicates and you will be fine. The other recommendation is to book directly, they assured me they charge less than going through Booking or Expedia and will also discount if you pay in cash.

Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for the curvy roads and we had rented a huge SUV (Italy is not made for big cars!!), so that made our stay more stressful than it had to be because I feared anytime we had to drive / leave the premises for the winery, dinner etc. The staff was unbelievably generous and understanding when we adjusted our plans to only stay 2 rather than 4 nights, and we could not be more grateful. We were sad to leave because the villa was the perfect size for our group of 5, and the hotel was perfect besides the distance from our plans / roads. Limited selection of food but a changing menu (daily), they want you to order ahead of time, and they have 3 course or 4 course option. We were not that hungry and only ordered 2-3 courses per person and they adjusted the price accordingly. Another amazing job by management. We stayed at the Alma Domus for few nights back in 2010 and promised ourselves we'd go back... We just stayed for 2 nights in mid-June 2015 and it was incredible!!! Our small group of 12 booked six of the larger remodeled rooms on the top floor with the views of the historic center and the Duomo and we were blown away!!! So location is the #1 reason to stay at The Alma Domus, just a 2-3 minute walk to Piazza del Campo... and Incredible Value is reason #2. The newly remodeled rooms and bathrooms are wonderfully appointed for a hotel in this price range!!! We had large superior triple rooms in the mid june high season for 110 euro and quad rooms for 125 euro... all with views, balconies, air-conditioning, and breakfast!!! I don't think you can find better value in Siena with this location, the charm and quaintness, and the amenities... Both the bathroom amenities(shampoo, soap, etc) and the free breakfast are very basic but fully adequate... If you can't live without your L'Occitane shampoo, and french milled soap, bring your own... Breakfast is simple but nice; juices, coffees, teas, cappuccino, espresso, croissants, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, sweet cakes, etc... The staff at the hotel was so friendly & helpful to our little group of friends and we found this hotel to be just magical... Waking up to the morning church bells just adds to the magic!!!
