La Bourganville is situated just outside and far above the city in the Manzoni neighbourhood. There are many beautiful vistas of the city, Vesuvius and the sea from Via Alessandro Manzoni. Getting into the city couldn't be easier. Get an unlimited full day pass for the metro (€4.50), and use it on the funicular just down the road from the B&B, takes you to Mergellina, and then walk 250m to the Mergellina metro which has both line 1 and 2. Then use your pass on any metro, bus or funicular in the city. We mainly chose La Bourganville because they offer parking for €5/day, but we'd definitely stay again both for location and to chat with Giuliano. Mille grazie!

It's in a good location, a residential neighborhood with access to public transit and a really great local restaurant. The best part of the stay is the host, Guiliano. He picked us up at the train station, gave us a tour of the city and made wonderful recommendations on where to visit, and how to save money and see all the sights. He even offered to pick us up in town if we were out after the buses stopped running. Every morning we'd have breakfast and talk to Guiliano about where to go that day. When we returned in the evening, we would talk over our travels with him - as if we were coming home to a cousin who was glad we were visiting. I can't say enough good things about Guiliano - he's definitely in the right line of work!

Nice, small, boutique hotel in a very central location of Napoli, just off the south west corner of…read morePiazza Municipio (~10-15 minute walk from the port). The hotel itself takes up the top floors of a building, with the jacuzzi on the very top floor. There is a metro station on the next block from the hotel which is very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel's decor is simple, chic and modern. The room was rather small as was the bathroom, but the jacuzzi shower unit was amazing (our room did not have a tub, we booked a deluxe double room). The toiletries were great but I wished they offered hair conditioner also. The room has a safe and WiFi, as well as a coffee maker and complimentary coffee. They provide robes and slippers. The curtains, when closed, kept the room pretty dark. In the evening, a complimentary dessert was left in the room for our enjoyment, a very nice touch indeed. The bed was comfortable enough, however because we had two beds put together to create one large bed (not our choice) there was an unevenness in the middle of the bed which was annoying. The breakfast, usually served on the rooftop unless it's raining, was rather basic but adequate providing fried and scrambled eggs, cold cuts and cheese, some cereals, bread, yogurt, pastries, fruits, as well as espresso drinks prepared to order. The highlight of the hotel was definitely the rooftop lounging area and jacuzzi. We made it a point to take advantage of this amenity every evening we stayed at this hotel and it was a great way to unwind and relax.

There's dessert left for you (in your room) every night. And the 24 hour concierge? Everyone was professional & knowledgeable. But the icing on the cake? The rooftop. Breakfast is served every morning on the roof. A full blown spread of everything & anything you could want. There's eggs & bacon, quiches, smoked salmon & cheeses, tarts, & pastries GALORE. 2 fresh juices, watermelon & cucumber. I LOVED the watermelon. Something about hot summer nights in Naples made me extra thirsty in the mornings. And of course, great coffee & cappuccinos. All this, with A VIEW. A view akin to a Grace Kelly movie. In color. Hot tub too. But being late August, that was not a priority. A romantic, private feeling, winner. It's not so easy to find...but that's what being a hidden gem is all about. 5 stars

The street can get a bit noisy, but once you're inside, it's a peaceful retreat. There are plenty of drinking places just outside the hotel. Interior - The hallways are spacious and accessible for those with disabilities, and there's also a small elevator or stairs available. You might hear some footsteps from guests entering and exiting their rooms, though. I'd suggest checking out the restaurant just outside the hotel; they offer a sweet 10% discount for hotel guests. The hotel was incredibly clean, though it had a bit of a college vibe with IKEA-style furniture. Getting from the Naples train station was a bit of a challenge, especially with our large luggage, so we ended up taking a car service. The only downside is that you have to hand in your key each time you leave. They do have a 24-hour front desk, and the staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I initially booked a queen bedroom, but they upgraded us to a larger unit with stairs and a loft-like feel. I wouldn't recommend the loft if you have mobility issues, as the bathrooms are upstairs. There's a sofa downstairs. Overall, I recommend this hotel for a walk, ability and access to some of the touristy spots. However, it is pretty far from some of the other highly rated pizza places or the coast. You're really depends on what you're looking for, but I do think this is the best hotel in the central Naples area. It was very safe.
