I have been to them all, several times in fact and I am here to tell you that none of them compare to Lo Mejor De Michoacan. None of them come close in fact. Do not let the outside fool you, do not let the tiny awkward parking lot fool you. It is what's inside that sets this small "Mom & Pop shop" apart. The first thing that I notice each time is how good it smells as soon as the door opens. It smells good, it smells like pork, and steak and fresh tortillas too. It is also very clean. It seems to me that this is a small family ran business, the same people greet me each time and are always super warm and welcoming. It is obvious they care and want to give you good service along with delicious food. I have taken my food to go and I have also sat down and I will say that there isn't any difference in the portion or the quality of the food. I have a hard time getting past the Carnitas each time I have been. The pork is tender and it tastes delicious consistently. The beans aren't from a can, I am willing to bet that the food here is all homemade. It tastes far too good to be from a can or a package. The tortillas are not warm, they are HOT when they get to your table, they taste so good. In my opinion they are the very best in town. The service is great too, the folks here keep the food coming and the drinks are always full, they are very polite and make your you want to come back again. Understandably so, this place has evolved to satisfy a Mexican cuisine with an American taste. I highly recommend the #16 or the shrimp cocktail. What I find most interesting is the decor. I love it. So many places are boring and plain but this place is so unique that it is refreshing to know that some places still have style. I had to know the history behind the building and I was pleasantly surprised. More importantly, this place is deeply rooted with family traditions that places like Dairy Queen and McDonald's lack: great service, friendly atmosphere, and FRESH food.
