I went in there over excited, ill prepared, and had only the vaguest idea of what I wanted. When the consultant asked me the most simple of questions "When do you want to fly?", I had to ask for a calendar, consult my phone, and spend ten minutes faffing about while she patiently waited. She was cool, calm collected in response to me being hyperactive. I walked away that day with a departure and return date chosen, and had a good idea about how much it would cost me. For days afterward, I would open my emails to find messages from her alerting me to cheaper flights she'd found and alternative options that I should look at. When I had to change my flights due to a problem with the airline, she bombarded me with texts, emails, and voicemails until I responded. I appreciated how she acted with urgency. I felt totally secure about every part of my travelling plans that she had played a hand in. I was able to reach her while overseas when I needed to confirm some details, and she always replied promptly to my emails. I would recommend Student Flights to anyone going anywhere. Student or not.

Since living in Teneriffe I've not really embraced the City Cat because previously it meant a 20 minute walk up to New Farm Park. But voila! Now I can join the boating commuters and jump on the City Cat from the new Teneriffe terminal. I find that the ferry and the City Cat is also a great way to show off Brisbane to friends who are visiting from elsewhere, especially at night when the boat approaches the city. The lights on the Story Bridge always look so magical. Is there a more relaxing, pretty way of traveling? I think not!

What's also cool about this terminal is the bus transport on hand. CityGlider and 199 services patiently chug their way down Commercial Rd and depart every couple of minutes. (A far far cry from the Northside buses I've experienced.) Making for a idyllic way to get to work or as a great way to show tourists the river. Teneriffe Terminal is a perfect slice of Brisbane life.

There are 4 steps into the coach instead of 3 and the coach kneels closer to the ground to make it easier to hop on and off. Panoramic windows and comfortable seats make for a comfortable journey. In my dealings with the company I have the most respectful and quick response from them. The cost to hire the coach is most reasonable, and NO there is no loss of service or quality to get this reasonable price. We have travelled SE Qld and N NSW and never once could I fault the safety or courtesy shown to us. The assistance was ALWAYS there in helping us enjoy our trip. LEIGH will always be our driver whenever he is available as he just fits in with your group.

I was after accommodation and flight times that would be safe for a woman travelling alone, and Jamaal (the store manager) was patient with me and understanding of my concerns. I could only drop by at late hours (past 5pm) after work, which was when Student Flights was also set to close, and Jamaal was willing to stay back past closing hours until everything was booked. I even caught him stepping out once for lunch and he stayed back even though I insisted he go grab something to eat! This place can get very packed at certain hours, particularly during lunch breaks, Friday nights, and weekends. So be sure to pop in early on a week day if you don't want to be waiting around, unless you like reading masses of travel brochures. But all up I've never had such great service from a travel agency before. I'm definitely going back for the next trip I book.

Overall, we had a lovely experience in Port Douglas with only a few things that were, well, awful. She immediately looked into getting those items if not fixed, at least removed from their listings. She was incredible and we highly recommend her!

There, you have your warning. NOW... if we didn't pay and the experience deteriorated and the end of the cantilever bridge snapped off for example... you get the point. I completely understand other Yelpers and my partners view of getting this experience for free in the National Park but you can only get it from the ground. This is that plus being in the treetops. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw a wallaby and a really pretty blue dragonfly. The paths are maintained to a very high standard. There are information points along the walk about trees and wildlife. The cantilever bridge, with the green scenery beyond looks like the approach to a Jurassic Park viewing platform. If you stand still at the end of it you can see and feel it gently swaying. Not for those with a fear of heights but worth a look if visiting the region.

A+ CRUISE 'Ello…read morechaps! Kudos to the Mirimar crew for the recent journey round trip to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. There are several ways to get to the park, but this by far the best. The Mirimar crew were phenomenal for the roughly 45 minute trip there, pointing out the highlights along the river. There is plenty of top deck seating, and on the main deck there is a full kitchen where you can order up hot and cold foods, grab a cold beer, wine, soda, or water.
