After riding for several hours, it was nice to stop at a scenic and picturesque rest stop. The Tennessee Welcome Center was inviting and the employees were friendly. In addition, the restrooms were very clean and the vending machines were well-stocked. While walking the grounds, I stopped to read the engravings on the memorial monuments.

There are two buildings. The Welcome Center. Then the vending machines on the other side. There were picnic tables and construction on the side where we got back on the interstate. The welcome center had a room that sports a fireplace and four wooden rocking chairs that provided a nice back drop and a comfortable vibe inside. There was tons of available spots. There were all sorts of brochures all throughout that had all sorts of different things to do while living here or traveling to see what is around in the area offering some information on the walls to read about Tennessee. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I really liked this Welcome Center. It was really easy to get in and out of. Right off the exit and plenty of parking. I will say this is the busiest one I've been to. The bathrooms are clean, plenty of vending machines with a great selection of drinks and snacks. The employees at the visitor center are very helpful and there are maps and also displays of "things to do in Tennessee".

After being on the road for several hours I was looking for a place to get out of my truck and stretch and get the blood circulating again and also to get rid of the last few cups of coffee, nothing more, nothing less. Well this welcoming center has a little bit of everything you'd hope to find while driving the interstate system. Plenty of parking, nice clean restrooms a friendly group of volunteers promoting their state's history and economic development and a whole host of information on landmarks, hotel, restaurants and beautiful state parks, so you can imagine my surprise when I entered the main building and there stood Dolly Parton - say what!!! Yes there she was looking as good as ever with her big set of pearly whites showing through her welcoming smile. This was unbelievable and more unbelievable was the fact that although she was standing beside a display of booklets advertising Dolly Wood and her Stampede Buffet there wasn't a soul in sight it seemed I would be first in line to shake her hand. This is when I first realized how tired I was after driving for hours, much to my dismay after speaking to her for a few minutes I realized she was actually a life size cardboard replica all perfectly proportioned such a perfect rendition, you can imagine my disappointment and the astonishment of the folks around me - I now know the intention and value of these roadside rest areas, they are not just your father's pee stop of yesteryear where you ran to the john and ran back while your parents argued over the remaining distance to the next Stuckey's to buy a pecan log as your dad flipped the pages of the Rand McNally....

Really nice Civil War display inside...totally worth stopping by!

A separate room in the main building had rocking chairs, a fireplace, and lots & lots of printed information.

Every room was filled with bugs all throughout, probably 50 large bugs on the ceiling over the master bedroom. It was like a nightmare. Every light had been left on inside of this home and there was likely opening somewhere to the outside, making it completely filled with bugs by the time we arrived. It was disgusting and unlivable- literally. I am shocked this host would respond so rudely to leave a negative review for someone who begged for a refund outright since I was hugely inconvenienced being forced to find last minute accommodations on a holiday weekend. Ironically, I kindly decided not to review her nightmare home since it was fully refunded and I did not want to be retaliatory. But honestly I have stayed in airBnB's worldwide and have never encountered such disgustingness. Anyone staying in Chattanooga/Lookout Mountain- take my advice and book a hotel. This place is a bug infested shack and you would be better off with a tent.

We checked in in the middle of the night, so we couldn't see much. We knew we had to cross a new bridge and when we did we could make the outline of the cabin, which we already knew was on the smaller size. When we walked in and soaked the place up it seems so much larger inside. The space was so efficiently built that there was a living room, full kitchen and the sleeping area upstairs. By knows means is it Ginormous though. We slept great and the next morning we were treated to the view of horses, sheep, chicken and goats in the pasture back beyond the bridge and field we came in from. We explored the farm over the next couple days and the mountains too. But usually we were happy to come back, sit on the porch and talk or read a book or watch a movie at one point. My dog loved the area and the cabin. He is crate trained and seemed to think of the cabin as one big crate for his "pack". Although I like to mix it up when traveling, I think we may end up staying at the cabin again.
