What you will find is a truly dedicated group of individuals who believe that each and every furry soul matters. This is among the most progressive no-kill shelters I've ever seen. They will go above and beyond to save every animal possible, and do so without the high budgets of some of the fancier shelters. Yes, they are pickier in who adopts animals than most shelters - for good reason. These babies trust them to find the absolute best match for them, and they take that seriously. If you were denied an animal, it is for good reason. As for the person who complained that the dogs were outside in the hot sun with little shade and no water - the dogs have indoor-outdoor access. Inside, they each have a climate-controlled pen with fresh water available at all times, regular meals of quality food, Kuranda beds, and lots of interaction daily. If they were outside, that's where they chose to be at that time. The public isn't walked through the interior of the kennels regularly to minimize stress to the dogs, but I have been in there dozens of times, and the interior is always well-maintained. Please don't judge a book by its cover. This shelter is positively amazing.

Put it this way...if I brought my dog in for the 12 hours you are open for day care, which I have, they would spend 9 of those hours (75%) in a crate. You can justify it however you want but I think it's important for your clients to understand this up front. I certainly didn't, until I started asking some pointed questions. Shame on me. For those that wish for their dogs to have a better balance of playtime and rest time, there are certainly other great options out there. I have found a place that works much better for my situation and I hope that anyone looking for doggy daycare asks the right questions and finds the best fit for their dogs!
