Disappointing Experience…read more I spent eight years at this daycare and have significant concerns about their communication and customer service. Initially, I chose this daycare due to limited options in my area, and really only stayed due to limited options, I wish I never made that decision, my experience left me frustrated. There were instances of inflexibility regarding discounts. I had to withdraw my oldest daughter when they stopped applying a $5/week discount and didn't notify me until weeks later, leading to late fees. When I sought clarification on the discount policy, I felt there was a lack of transparency, and I was advised to find another childcare provider, despite being a long-term customer with two children enrolled. I didn't remove her from the daycare because of $5/week it was because they would not honor a discount and could not provide anywhere where the discount could not be applied in writing. Recently, during discussions about a rate increase--the fifth in four years--2nd this year (2024). I found the interactions with management to be unprofessional & aggressive. When I asked for clarification on the new payment terms, I felt my concerns were not taken seriously. I acknowledge that I lost my cool and used foul language during this interaction, and I apologize if I caused any disturbance. I was also concerned about communication regarding incidents involving my children. On multiple occasions, one of my children came home with unexplained bite marks, and I had to reach out for clarification. In one instance, after a significant bite, they reviewed the footage but couldn't determine how it happened, which left me uneasy about the care my child was receiving and I considered looking for another childcare option but ultimately stayed still due to a lack of childcare options. Overall, I believe there are better options available in the Dover/Weigelstown area, now. If you value open communication and a supportive environment, and don't want to receive 2 rate increases a year I recommend exploring other childcare providers.

Any issues that arose were communicated with me and they addressed any concerns I may have had. The teachers here are very caring, nurturing and provide a great learning environment. A mobile application is used to upload pictures and communicate messages. I throughly enjoyed all of the pictures and videos I would receive daily. My child still talks about Ms. Jess and Ms. Olivia. Ms. Britney is also a true gem there as well. If you're considering kindercare, your children will be in good hands.

The owners, Bill and Judy, are at the center every day and they know all of the children by name. That's a lot of kids! They are warm and kind and the kids love them. The teachers and teacher aids are all different personalities and styles but they are all sweet and loving to the children. I know my son ADORES them! The facility is always clean, the meals they make for the kids are made in-house from real food, and there are tons of toys! The outdoor play areas are separated so that the bigger kids don't plow down the little ones as they play, which is really nice. Each area has appropriate equipment and toys, and is monitored at all times. There are tons of beautiful flowers around and the entire center (2 separate buildings) always looks great. They also OWN 2 real school buses used for transporting the kids. Again, we were worried about sending our son to a center, but this place is fantastic. It's a center, but it is family owned and operated, and our son loves it there! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The school is extremely clean and welcoming by every teacher we have encountered. The Goddard School programming in general has a good reputation, however the staff currently implementing the programming at this school are absolutely excellent. We have to say the development of our child has improved drastically - that includes physical development, emotional development, and milestone development. It appears most teachers intermingle with all classes and our child is very familiar with all staff - you can see that at drop off and pick up as they always address our child by name. I would also like to touch on the ongoing confidence boost the current teachers are giving my child. They really interact and get to know the children and it really makes such a difference. Our child loves going in there. The hours are absolutely convenient for us which is not something we had before. The benefit of when my husband travels is that I don't have to leave work early to pick our child up and we can use that extra time. We do need to pack breakfast (unless you have time to give this at home) and lunch - which in the grand scheme is really fine with me now. It was a learning curve at first, but it gives me the opportunity to nutritionally decide what I will send in. Sometimes when other daycares are funded, the food is mass produced - and kind of gross. The school provides two snacks a day - this is very helpful! From our experience, you really get what you pay for. Here we see that we have made an investment in our child's future (even though still very young). We have another child on the way and could not imagine not enrolling our newest in this program. Like I said - the program is great - but the teachers hired really make it for us. We would 10/10 recommend this school.

My concerns are primarily with management, their communication style, and how serious issues were handled. The catalyst for us switching daycares was an incident I personally witnessed where a teacher angrily put his hands on another child and pushed the child into a chair. Although my child was not directly involved, I immediately became uncomfortable leaving my child alone with that specific teacher. I immediately reported this to the owner as I was on my way out the door, but the teacher continued working at the daycare. I received no follow-up from management until I requested to withdraw my child and verbally complained about the lack of communication when asked why our family was withdrawing. When I finally received a response, I was told that the teacher said he had not touched anyone. This was extremely concerning because I had personally witnessed it. After several days of deliberation, I contacted ChildLine to report my concerns. It was not until the state became involved that the teacher was ultimately removed. This was not our only issue with management. There were also ongoing communication breakdowns. For example, parents would receive emails about special events or policy changes that the teachers themselves sometimes seemed unaware of. It was clear to me management did not adequately support or communicate with its own staff. Ultimately, the lack of communication and the way this incident was handled caused me to lose confidence in this daycare. There are genuinely caring and wonderful teachers there, but as a parent, I need to know that my child is safe and that serious concerns will be taken seriously. Unfortunately, we reached a point where I no longer felt that way, and we chose to move our child to another daycare.

In all the times I dropped off and picked up I never once saw a single one who ever seemed genuinely happy while interacting with a child. One teacher in my oldest sons room would actually borderline yell at some of the kids, I personally observed this on multiple occasions. One day during drop off she snapped a very rude remark in a much louder and harsher tone than normal conversation at my son because he attempted to get out some toys which they had already apparently cleaned up prior to his arrival. As he was supposed to know this? Through all the hot August days I would pick them up off the playground and they would be hot and sweated with no water bottles. The water bottle I packed would be empty back inside their cubbies in their rooms. I commented on it one day and a teacher replied "we'd be going back and forth to the bathroom constantly if everyone had water bottles". Apparently taking already potty trained kids to the bathroom is too much to ask? The icing on the cake which led to immediately withdrawing from the center was when my oldest son came home with a hand print on his arm. He was 4 and no longer napped, however the 4-5 year old classroom had a 2 hour nap time each afternoon where they expected him to sit and play quietly on a cot. For 2 whole hours. He struggled with this, as I'm sure most 4 year old boys would and they didn't want to put the effort into finding a solution. One day he came home and told me about how the teacher that day was mad at him for not being quiet during nap time so she grabbed his arm very hard and made him sit in a time out chair in the corner. When questioned she said she gently led him to another area. Gentle enough to leave a handprint, I guess..... We paid almost $1000/month for him to attend UGRO and they actually asked me to pack him a bag of quiet things to do during nap time so he wouldn't disrupt the other kids. Total lack of desire to foster kids development and growth. Do NOT waste your time looking at this facility. The director is kind and sweet and you will think it's a great place but do not be fooled. The staff are absolutely terrible and could care less about your child.
