I read all the books she recommended during pregnancy but it was lovely to also just text her any random question I had. And she always responded with evidence based research and the most objective perspective she had. During delivery, we would have been lost without her, specially my husband ;) who just forgot everything we had practiced when my contractions started. My labor was ~36hrs and I didn't feel it like a marathon because Anna broke it down into manageable sprints and I had the natural birth I wanted, even though it was a complicated delivery. Lastly, she just helped us train our 4 month old to sleep by himself and it's been barely 5 days and it's already night and day. I was soooo scared of traumatizing my child but by now, I knew that I could do it with Anna's guidance. It ended up being super smooth and most importantly, my son is the happiest now and we are all better rested and don't need nighttime help!! Just in time for my return to work I would recommend Anna for everything related to pregnancy, postpartum and sleep training! And she's also just a great person with infinite love for babies and mothers.

We were a little concerned that - being that they are doulas - the class might be a little "hippy dippy" and pushing us towards birth choices we were not quite on board with but we found nothing of the sort. Genie was quite adept at giving us ALL available options openly and without judgement. She was funny, friendly, and easy to listen to. We learned so much more than just the birth stages - the information we learned is going to really come in handy in the weeks to come and helped us feel much more prepared than any book would. Thank you!!!

Genie has a great and positive vibe and it felt very thorough but not overwhelming. Genie shared a lot of resources to review what she presented and how/where to learn more, and I have gone back to those a lot since. I felt she covered all my concerns and questions. It's nice to have some local community info for after birth/new families, too, if you're in the Burlington area, but this online class would also be great for anyone anywhere. It would be nice to be able to go in person, of course, but I felt very invited to participate and ask questions. It didn't seem like there was too much lost in being all online in Covid times. I also feel I know where to look further (if needed) for ways to get in gear both physically and mentally before my birth. Thank you, Birth Journeys!

I can't say enough good things about the team at Evolution…read more Prenatal yoga was so much fun during pregnancy. Being part of a community of other expecting women was really wonderful and supportive! It was also a great way to relax, stretch & exercise. I always looked forward to sharing my status with the group & hearing others before we practiced yoga. Susan is the very best!! Lucky me, I also got to take advantage of Evolution's massage therapy offering a couple times with Annemarie Altadonna. Wow! Her prenatal massages are outstanding - don't hesitate to book one! Take advantage of that "pregnancy card"!! Huge thank you to Jessica & Evolution for the terrific birthing class we attended to prepare for our first baby. The labor comfort & coping techniques, hospital tour, birth beliefs and postpartum education (and so much more) was so helpful on our big day! I'd also like to give a big shout out to Sally MacFadyen and her breastfeeding class hosted at Evolution. Sally is no joke, a boob and baby whisperer! Having her come visit us postpartum was extremely helpful as well. Highly recommend taking her class & following up with her once you're home with your new baby. Looking forward to their new addition in Essex and to try out some new parent groups & postnatal yoga/strengthening classes!

There is so much power in the practice that they offer, and I am overjoyed to be a part of it in so many ways. I really felt the impact during labor, and am just so thankful. Really exited to return to practice with our babe! Thoughts from me: Birth classes were an essential part of our preparation for our first child. I found Susan's teaching-style to be effective, easy-to-follow, and kind. I had zero prior experience with babies, so it was very important for me to get early exposure to the tools and techniques for taking care of an infant. Thanks Susan for helping us get started!

Sarah was my wonderful Doula for the birth of my daughter and she was exactly what I needed in each moment to help me through it. Without her, my experience likely would have been vastly different and as I look back I'm so grateful that she was part of my experience. She took the time beforehand to get to connect with me as a person, what my hopes, fears, desires, wishes were for my labor & delivery and what kind of support I needed. She was readily available for questions, concerns, advice, hints and tips as I went though my pregnancy. During the labor process, which lasted much longer than normal, she was truly present for me when I really needed her and I felt she went above and beyond for me. During labor she had no agenda of her own, rather she helped me think through my tough decisions based on what I had previously told her I wanted and desired. She was completely neutral & non-judgmental about my choices, wants and desires during the experience. She had the ability to help me re-frame difficult moments or decisions in a grounded, loving, caring way. Her only agenda was me & my baby: our physical and emotional well being and that's exactly what I needed. Sarah was a wealth of knowledge that helped me maintain focus, motivation and comfort. She has an easy, grounded, centered countenance, even during the most difficult and intense situations. Throughout my pregnancy, labor & delivery, I found her to be knowledgeable, wise, flexible, responsive, open minded, supportive, caring, heart-centered, straight forward & reliable. She also had terrific rapport with me, my birth partners and the medical professionals at the hospital. Sarah was born to be a Doula!

She helped me to think through tough decisions, cheered me on as I met medical challenges, and then actively worked with me during my actual labor at Kaiser Walnut Creek so that it was a positive experience for my family and me. Although we took the excellent Bradley Method course with Sabine Henri (also recommended) during my second trimester, it was the additional support of Sarah that made all the difference during my third trimester and my labor and delivery. Sarah went above and beyond the services she agreed to in her contract, for a very reasonable fee compared to many other local doulas. She has an extensive background in massage therapy (so great during labor!) and degrees in exercise science and consciousness studies that give her skills beyond her more recent doula practice. Most importantly, Sarah is a kind, wise, smart, grounded woman--and a mom herself. My husband and I feel so very lucky that we found her. We recommend her without hesitation!
