I've dealt with…read moreanxiety and depression issues for most of my life, and have recently been looking for treatments besides medication to deal with it. I've found that breathing exercises, regular aerobic exercise and acupressure/acupuncture work well for day-to-day purposes, but it's necessary to supplement these with something more, especially during high-stress periods. Massages and visits to traditional spas work well, but it's nice to mix things up sometimes, and neither of these activities give me the isolation I need to truly calm my body and mind down. That's where Satori comes in. It's pretty much impossible for me to put into words the sensations of floating--all I can say is that it's a feeling that seems completely foreign yet completely familiar at the same time. I've heard it compared to being weightless in space or going back to the womb, but seeing as I've never experienced the former and don't remember the latter, I'll just say it's an amazing experience that has to be tried...and retried. While Satori is mostly known for the flotation tanks, they also offer "mind spa" services. The Mind Spa is essentially a message table outfitted with subwoofers that are triggered (along with light glasses that must trigger REM or something, because it gives you some amazing closed eye visions) by the music playing through your headphones. I described it to a friend as "the sensation of lying on a huge, purring cat on a sunny day outdoors with you eyes closed". Truly a unique experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and in no way as new-agey or spaced out as you'd imagine (which is great, because I have a fairly low tolerance for that). They take their services very seriously and use them themselves, and as such can give great advice to beginners or advanced users. Highly recommended!

I have since gifted sessions to colleagues and tell everyone to experience it! I've tried 60, 90, and 2 hour sessions; up to now, 90min has been perfect. My last visit I decided to try the mind spa and that was seriously next level! The synchronization of the music in the head phones, vibrating table pad and what I've been calling "light dancing" glasses, was unreal! I did this for 30min and then floated for 90min. I ended up getting out of the tank before my session was complete because I was ready. So 30min mind spa + 1hr float is where the total relaxation is at for me! Plus Rahn is the nicest most calm human in the greater Burlington area.

She's always there when I arrive and asks if there's anything that's bothering me and she adjusts her massage based on my input. I play a number of high-impact sports, so sometimes she changes the type of pressure she uses or chooses to focus on a particular trouble spot. I've always walked out feeling looser and more relaxed. The studio is in a convenient location with plenty of parking and the interior is set up perfectly for a calming, serene atmosphere. Because of my sports background I've seen quite a few massage therapists over the years and Chelsea is one of the best. I cannot recommend this studio enough.

I had stopped here because I had an appt to have my blood drawn for my OncoSure kit. I wasn't planning on purchasing any spa services or cryo therapy sessions, but since I was in Burlington, which is 30 mins by car and 1.5 hrs by bus (which i take the bus) from Saint Albans where I live, I decided to take advantage of being there and booked an impromptu localized cryotherapy session with heat as well. The owner was very nice and welcoming, as was the nurse who drew my blood. I really wanted to get a head/neck/scalp massage but the massesuse was just on the way out as I was coming in. I really loved the overall feel and aesthetic of the spa. I really appreciated how accommodating the owner was last minute to squeeze me in for a localized cryo session. I have had pain in the back of my knee for a few years now and it has gotten worse overtime from being on my feet working in restaurants and in healthcare (long hours). Anyways she used heat on the area first to warm it up and then used really cold nitro and my knee basically went numb lol It was a different kind of sensation. The owner gave me a tour of the spa and everything. If I was closer to Burlington I would have gone more often. The prices were rather reasonable as well.
