He apologized and said that his entire staff is new and that they had just opened this office two months ago. Hopefully when I go back next month they will have their act together. Because I'd like to keep Dr. Luu as my primary.

By the time the doors opened there were 4 people waiting to be seen. (Arrive early is my advice) I put off being seen for so long because my fear was that I'd spend whatever it cost to just be told to continue to use over the counter meds. I went in, filled out the paper work and was in a room in about 15 minutes. The assistant came to take my vitals and document my symptoms. As a precaution they ran a flu and covid test, which came back negative but I was glad to know definitively. I saw Dr (PA?) Blackwell. He seemed genuinely concerned since my cough was so severe. He was thinking it could have progressed to pneumonia. They were able to do a chest x-ray in house to confirm we were heading towards pneumonia, but it had not fully developed. I was provided with 3 prescriptions to assist in my recovery. Overall I was pretty impressed with the thorough care that I received and would recommend Urgent Care of Morro Bay if you have a pressing medical situation.

All of our medical services are in Fresno, so when I had a dermatological issue that required attention I tried the urgent care office here in Morro Bay. The staff upon registration was great. The woman who worked with me had that type of disarming, I'm gonna be your friend kind of approach. I don't think I waited more than 20 minutes until I was called back in to see the doctor. The doctor was very attentive to my issue and let me say what I needed to say. Immediately knew what the problem was, told me what it was, and prescribed the medication that would handle it. In may be a little over a week it was gone. I truly recommend these guys. There's no pretentious attitude, just a very friendly disarming staff.

This place is first come first serve, they do not take insurance but typically only charge $60. Per visit. Recently I was suffering with a uti and my regular Dr. Expected me to wait over a month to be seen . So I walked into North County Care, waited my turn to be seen and then was given a test and diagnoses along with a prescription . So to me that was well worth $60.00 . He is a bit of a character, don't let that turn you off he is a very good Dr. that does what he can to help people heal. No ego trip and a no frills office.

She criticized the Doctor about notifying her of her breast cancer diagnosis...would she rather hear from the Radiologist or his office staff? Should he call her in to the office for a visit while she anxious and having sleepless nights until the doctor can get her in? It sounds like the doctor immediately referred her out which sounds appropriate ...is he supposed call her weekly to see how she's doing? How would the doctor know she changed doctors? With thousands of patients he supposed to recognize she hasn't come back and call her to see why? As for the exams, Doctors usually see patients who have a problem and many times exams are not necessary. Does the doctor need to do a full exam every time he sees a patient? Is she saying that when her knee hurts, she wants him to look in her ears? This woman's comments seem unreasonable, detached from reality, unwarranted and inaccurate especially as they relate to his character. I can't imagine she saw the doctor very often to come up with such mischaracterizations. Sounds like another unhappy person displacing their feelings and deflecting. Her comments are not helpful for others who want to know who Dr. Bettencourt really is. Thankfully many others have chimed in who actually know Dr Bettencourt. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bettencourt as a caring and professional General Practitioner.

He is right to the point and tells you the facts, but in a friendly way. He made me a referral to a pain specialist for the SI joint pain as there is nothing he can do for that. My Xrays show arthritis there. I had a cortisone shot in the hip which was done quickly and nearly pain free. I have had 3 surgeries with Dr. Sima, carpal tunnel, and both shoulders. I will keep coming back for quality care.
