Terrible school. Students do not learn anything. The school is a waste of time and money.

The world of daycares is daunting, Phase provided a bright light at the end of my search…read more Having a child during a pandemic and finally deciding to send her to a daycare meant that I had to be sure she would be safe, that Covid protocols would be in place and that the staff would be considerate as she integrated outside our bubble. Phase is one of the few daycares that offers: Part time full day program Meals included (with no additional cost) And a dedicated outdoor playground. The price point is also great in comparison to other competitors in the area. The Capital Turnaround building itself is gorgeous, the classrooms are spacious. There is also a STEM/Digital playroom and a soft play room with part of a trolley and pneumatic tubes and balls inside the building. There is a dedicated parking lot across the street and there is usually a spot out front. Beginning Oct. 1st they will be open until 5:30pm which will be great!!! The teachers and administration are loving, caring and the children know all the teachers and greet them all. The food looks delicious and there is a wide variety of menu items which I appreciate because introducing new foods can be quite a struggle, as all parents know. I've sent my daughter with "nice clothes" and even jewelry and everything is always returned home. Ml So now for the cons, as mentioned by the previous poster, there are some communication issues, let me clarify. The communication issues, have ranged from not being notified that my child needed more diapers until the morning of school, not getting update/activity pictures until the end of the day (a working parent's tragedy) and not receiving accurate eating updates. All of which I attribute to the staff being too preoccupied with attending and caring for the children to update the app and that is understandable. None of the communication issues were detrimental or health or safety related. The administration was also apologetic and proactive about implementing better communication once the issues were raised. As a new business that is really all I ask for and all I think any reasonable person can ask for. My daughter's speech delay has improved and if she is having a bad morning mentioning her teacher's names and the administration staff's names gets her motivated quickly. Ultimately every child is different as is every family, but I am thankful that we found such a wonderful school, with a beautiful facility and loving and caring staff. If you'd like to know more or need a referral feel free to message me.

The support from the administration was open and available whenever I needed! Communication between parents and staff was constant as we documented and reported everything via the ProCare system. The food for the children is well prepared, tasty and nutritious! I loved my job!!

Our daughter has been part of the CHCC family since she was 6 months old. We are preparing to…read moretransition to PK3 and we have been reflecting on our time at CHCC. As a parent, deciding on a daycare is such an overwhelming and scary thing because your child spends so much time there. My husband and I think sending her to CHCC was one of the best decisions we have made. The teachers are so loving and incredibly caring and have built such an amazing and genuine bond with our daughter and us. There are lots of daycares and some of them will have fancy corporation centers with state of the art toys, that is not this daycare. But our daughter every single day has a curriculum in which she is learning numbers, letters, words, etc. in a fun and structured environment. The teachers are true educators and pride themselves on teaching all the children something new every single day! I would take that over fancy toys/centers any day! Do yourself a favor and check them out! You will not regret it, we sure haven't!

I loved the time my family spent with Capitol Hill Childcare and I really miss having a kid in…read moredaycare there. CHCC is a truly special place. This is the most loving, child-centered place I can imagine for babies and toddlers. The quality of the teachers and the instruction is amazing. There is a close sense of community among all the kids, staff, and families - my child knew the toddlers, babies, and parents by name and loved introducing us to them when we ran into school friends out in the neighborhood. I attribute that sense of community to the hard work of CHCC teachers. All the teachers knew my kid well and my kid talked a lot about loving them all. The staff knows and cares for each child as an individual - they're very thoughtful about how to meet each child's needs, whether it's OT, food preferences, or individual potty training journeys. We joined CHCC just before the school moved into its new space on 8th and North Carolina SE, and in spite of the logistical challenge of moving out of the facility where CHCC had been for 10 years, the director and teachers put the kids first at every turn and they thrived. I really liked the new space and wish we could have stayed longer to see it continue to transform as CHCC continues to settle in. Though this may not seem like the fanciest daycare there is, the quality of the instruction for toddlers is on par or better than what more corporate or expensive daycares are providing. CHCC balances that with a lot of fun, free, outdoor time. It's a really nice, age-appropriate structure for young children. For toddlers, each day at school is a great balance of free play and learning, with lots of time at the parks in the neighborhood, lots of singing and dancing, art, and early literacy and numeracy activities. By the end of toddler II, the kids know the letters in their names (and many of their friends' names), can identify upper and lower case letters, can count to at least 20, and much more. I have been completely blown away at how much my kid has learned while having such a good time. I could never say enough about the incredible teachers we've been lucky to have at CHCC. Ms. Pat and Ms. Capri were my kid's primary teachers. They are loving, skilled educators who implement an ambitious curriculum. Over the summer, they took the 2-3 year olds on field trips riding the bus several times per week! On many occasions, I personally saw Ms. Pat handle challenging toddler behaviors expertly, with the utmost patience, love, and calm. It was magical. I would trust them with kids of every disposition. At pick up every day, it warmed my heart to see them so happy and energized even after a day caring for all their toddlers. Bottom line: this is a loving, enriching, and happy environment for kids. It's unpretentious, rigorous, and fun. The parent community is also wonderful. I still miss it every d

I am easily motion sick and not a fan of heights and my first attempt at jumping scared the daylight out of me but I did it and went back to try again. By the third jump I was excited to jump and wanted really hard to get the trick we were being taught. By the end of the class I felt like I was on my way to leveling up! Service The teachers were so patient and understanding, they went over and over everything until we were all comfortable. You are assigned a trainer and two additional people assist with teaching. Liz, Sampson and Isaiahs to be exact were so amazing I had to name them. Only two out of our group had flew before so we needed all their attention and they provided it! They encouraged us to come back and even reminded us we get a discount if we register within the 24 hr time period. Cost I was very pleased for the experience we received in comparison to the price. Very reasonable imo and very convenient when it came to scheduling dates. Location Located in Navy Yard suprsigly I was able to nab a spot directly in front and never had to look around. I booked the 6pm class which may have played a factor with the parking.

But you get used to it after awhile because depending on the size of the class, you could end up jumping 6-8 times. Toward the end I was getting really tired and my arms were feeling like jello and wanted to give out. When you go for the swinging catch you really have to stretch your body and reach for the other person. Unfortunately, I didn't make the connection but with a few more sessions I feel that will be the natural next step. It's exhilarating and you leave feeling like a bad ass. BEGINNER SILKS CLASS This class was a lot harder than it looks - it does require some upper body strength, hand grip and balance. The instructor was very encouraging and demonstrated each move step by step. I only took one class but I'd be interesting in taking a series once it gets a little warmer out. I would recommend wearing long sleeves and pants because your body will rub with a lot of friction against the silks. I'm excited to continue to take both classes again and some of their additional unique offerings like the lyra (aerial hoop), trampoline and maybe even juggling classes!
