There was little to no human effort in getting my kid "engaged" in the subject matter. My child also indicated that the day was more baby sitting than camp. If you need someone to just watch your child, this is the camp for you.

I'm so grateful I found this company during my job search. As a first-generation college grad, I…read morewas really struggling to find a job and didn't have much confidence in myself or my experience. They helped me with my resume, how to present my experience, and so much more. I got the package that included a career counseling session, and I actually had my session the day before an interview. It helped me so much and gave me the confidence I needed going into the interview. The price may seem a little high at first, but the confidence and support I received were worth so much more to me. I'm now working at a great job, and I honestly don't think I would have felt as confident throughout the process without their help. I'm really thankful for everything they did for me and would definitely recommend them!

After just the first class in person, because of COVID19 our classes went virtual. But that didn't have any impact on the quality of the classes- Roberto, our instructor was excellent even on Zoom/Webex. The best part of the class, was the practical part--we were encouraged to converse in Spanish with the classmates using whatever we learnt. So, the emphasis is not on getting rush past the exercises but to ensure that we actually can use what was taught in the class in our conversation and interactions. Roberto is super. Always ready to answer your questions. Always encouraging. So, is Santiago who helps you out outside the class. Will surely continue with the classes. Hasta Pronto!!

The transition was seamless and my learning experience, which was stellar under Simple, has continued to be equally as good under District, probably because Gerardo has been my teacher the entire time. He's energetic, friendly, patient and very receptive to feedback, which is important in a small class setting where people may have different learning styles and preferences. He also takes the time to point out when certain phrases/words are used more commonly in Spain vs. Latin America. Classes are held in a WeWork space. If you're not familiar with it, a bunch of different companies rent out glass paneled office spaces on the same floor. There's a lounge/kitchen in the lobby area that's accessible to all, which is nice because they always have free coffee and tea, along with plenty of space to hang out and study or eat.

My parents used the services provided by followers of The Alexander Graham Bell Association when I…read morewas a toddler. My parents were told that getting me to use my voice and my ears was very, very important. They got hearing aids for me and made sure I had speech therapy. Fortunately, they realized rigid oralism wasn't the best approach, and they started learning American Sign Language shortly after transferring me to a school for the deaf. AG Bell should be held accountable for the following: -centuries' worth of bad-mouthing signed languages and Deaf people who speak signed languages; -centuries' worth of condoning language deprivation; -decades worth of promising parents that hearing aids/cochlear implants will make the deaf child function like a hearing person. (Cochlear implants: 22-33 channels vs. an average hearing person's 6,000 channels...) All Deaf children, regardless of their hearing level, have the right to access to their country's signed language, as signed languages provide them with 100% visual language access. It's a small space without natural light, but it does feel bright. It's clean and the children seem happy and well cared for. We are likely not pursuing a spot for two main reasons: the lack of natural light and the lack of a dedicated playground, or playground nearby. We feel strongly that we want our daughter to have outdoor education incorporated into her day, and I wasn't thrilled with the idea that she would have to walk on busy DC streets to get to a park without playground equipment meant for her age. In short, I think it seems like a perfectly nice place, but I don't think it's the right fit for us.
