I have thought multiple times about writing this review. It has now been almost 2 weeks since my Brazilian wax with Tema. I have so many ingrown hairs and she even pulled my skin off. Wearing underwear is still very uncomfortable. That's the short story. Here is the long story. UpOn walking into the salon it was very dirty. I used the restroom before my Brazilian and there wasn't any toilet paper. Luckily there were toilet seat covers. I walked into the room and undressed and got on the table. She began to talk about that she had been six for two days with an awful cough. I asked her if she had been tested for COVID and she told me she had not. She didn't wear a mask the entire time. When she removed the wax she used multiple pulls to remove the strip instead of one straight pull. I believe this is what has led to my ingrown hairs. She also applied the wax several times in the same spot. I believe this is what led to the skin removal. When I asked her the normal price of the wax she said $65, but the coconut oil I put on is another $50. Honestly just awful. I tried to contact Groupon to get my money back and they said they could not. I purchased 3. I will not go in for the other 2. Perhaps she's great at hair, but not waxing. read more

Very unprofessional, she has a system that cancels appointment for all kinds of different things that go on in her salon. I got this offer of Groupon for eyelashes and she cancel the appointment and it's my fault. She then took a deposit fee of $10 maybe because she needed it because she canceled my appointment I don't recommend this business to anyone they are other places around here and that will accommodate you stay away buyer beware she will take $10 from your personal account because they need it after canceling my appointment. There are other places that you can go to that are more professional good luck to this business it's bad. read more

I'm going to have to give the salon a one star review. Now I originally was going to cancel my appointment because I still had old braids in. Tema said that she would take down the braids, for 60 dollars extra for what I was paying for to get done. I got Senegalese twists. The twists by themselves were 180 so including the 60, it was total 240. The take down process, washing my hair and detangling all took 2 hours. Not bad. I arrived at the stop at 10:45 she started twisting at about 12:45-1pm. I did not get home until 2 AM. I sat in the chair for 12+ hours. & that's not what I'm complaining about.. Less than a week later, I have my whole bottom row of twists gone because they came out, I have two to three twists gone in the front because they came out. I have quite a few twists that are loose in my head and are on the verge of slipping out. I asked tema for at least a refund of less than half of what I payed, which was 100 bucks. She instead tried to get me to come back in and have my hair fixed, but I'm in the middle of moving so I don't have the time to sit for another set of hours at a time to have my hair fixed. We've gone in circles in the convo about getting my money back, and it's proved to be futile. So not only was the quality of my hair being done was bad, but I can't even get a partial of my money back. Wouldn't recommend for hair.. read more

I contacted her and asked her if I could make a waxing appt and she said I could make an appt through her website. Whatever was available there was available for me to schedule. So I took the 11:45am slot, held it with my credit card and thought I was good to go. At 9:10am, I get an email that Tema has rescheduled my appt to 5pm. There was no question if that would work for me. So I juggle my entire day around so I can make this 5pm appt and not be charged the cancellation fee. At 4:29 I miss her call because I'm taking a shower to get ready to be waxed and then see a text that says she won't have time for me today, she's with a long-term client and wants to reschedule in 2 days. I tell her I can't because I'll be out of town. And that's the last I hear of Tema. If Tema wants me to value her time and charge cancellation fees (which I think it perfectly logical to do) I expect Tema to value my time and not change my appointment twice when I am doing EXACTLY as she requests. But I guess if you do actually get in with Tema and become a long-term client, you might have it good. IDK read more

My daughter had a terrible mess of tangles in her beautiful, naturally curly hair. To the point where a dreadlocked knot had formed. The only option seemed to be to cut it out and lose the length of hair my daughter is so proud of. However, Tema agreed to see us on a day her shop was closed. (Extremely generous) Upon walking in for the first time we couldn't help but feel cozy and welcomed. As if you were at your own home. She immediately assessed the condition and began to perform magic on this mass of angry tangles. This would be my first yelp review, I don't think I've ever bothered to go out of my way to leave a review but for Tema yes. This lady can do lashes! And does them very well! I'm happy I found someone to do such an amazing job, I've always been curious about eyelashes by seeing how good they look when done well. I was skeptical about trying them at first since I've heard they can pull out your natural lashes over time especially if not taken care of properly. That was not the case! My very first set of lashes was done by Tema herself this past March 6th and I just left her salon with a fresh fill today! They lasted way longer than expected which is another plus. Not disappointed one bit. And they're just as beautiful as the first round and will continue seeing her for my fills from here on out. Unfortunately you can't give zero stars on this. I honestly don't know how the actual services are, because no one bothered to give me any. I showed up a few minutes early for my 345 appointment, and after knocking on a locked door was informed by a little girl that it was the wrong place. I called the business and no one answered, so I sent a text as that had been a previous form of communication with the merchant. A few minutes later someone came out and asked me who I was, stating they would tell the merchant. The same person came out again a couple of minutes later and asked me what I was there for and if I wanted water. She then told me that the merchant was "behind" and it would be "15 minutes." This was already 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. I then waited another 20 minutes standing outside with the door locked and nobody offering to let me in. At one point someone opened the door and then closed it immediately. After 30 minutes of standing outside I left. It's now over 45 minutes after when my appointment was supposed to start, and the merchant still hasn't contacted me to apologize or anything. This was a waste of time, gas, and childcare. read more

This was my first time getting my hair professionally done ever and I am so glad I came here. I scheduled for a balayage, haircut, and lashes. Scheduling can be a little tricky since Tema is a pretty busy woman. She took her time to do my hair and made sure I was satisfied how light my hair was, how short it was, and even made sure to use products that would not damage my hair. She also took her time to make my lashes as nice as possible. I was with her for 11 hours, and within those 11 hours, she made me feel at home and completely comfortable. She is a wonderful woman who is very easy to get along with. Her prices are pretty expensive but she does a really great job so it's worth it. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

2 stars because Tema does AMAZING eyelash extensions. I got extensions for the first time with her groupon deal & it was 100% worth it. I recently got a vixen sew in that only lasted me 3 days. I had to take it out because half of my hair turned into a BIG KNOTT that I couldn't remove so I had no other choice but to cut it out. I was in the chair from 10am-6pm. I brought in my own hair & hair dye to match the extensions & paid $300. I did a full vixen sew in but realized, since I have very thick hair to begin with, the top of my vixen was way too thick & there was NO way I could style it.. The vixen wasn't what I expected it to be. I thought I could do multiple hair styles and have a really nice combed back pony hair (which is why I wanted extensions in the first place) but i couldn't. Even my stylist, not tema but it was a different girl with blue dreads/twists couldn't style my hair nice enough to take a pic. I asked her to remove the top part of the vixen & she seemed really upset & Tema came out & removed it for me. So now I have HALF a vixen sew in ok. So tema charges me $150 - sew in $50 - TO REMOVE HALF (it's $50 to remove the hair & deep condition but I didn't get the full service & still paid full price) $80 - TO DYE THE HAIR WHEN I BROUGHT DYE I just paid for it cause I made my stylist cry and I felt really bad at the moment and I was there for so long & was tired & hungry & I just wanted to get out of there. but this was totally not what I expected and I had the worst sew in experience ever & will never do it again. On top of everything I paid for, I bought another bundle for $95 for no reason cause I ended up only using 2 bundles of Brazilian body wave. read more
