Catastrophic customer service, waiting times of 40 minutes because of a pre-paid data card, other local customers are given priority - absolutely bad service. Lots of customer advisors standing around and a few important employees walking around with tablets. On the second attempt, the same information, waiting time of 40 minutes, at least I got the tip that you could get the same data card at JB Hi-Fi around the corner. Excellent customer service at JB Hi-Fi, the whole thing was done in less than 10 minutes. Maybe they should send the Telstra staff to JB Hi-Fi to see what real great customer support is like. This store is huge and has a work/computer area for people who might need it during the day. Hard to figure out who works there though... After I found someone my question was answered right away, so that's another plus for them! read more

I don't think Telstra gets a fair rap in Australia so I have to try and even out some of the negative reviews. I had a 4pm meeting upstairs on a Tuesday. I dropped into the store at 3:45pm and was quickly approached by one of the staffers asking me to state my business. I said I needed to top up my mifi and pick up a sim for my mobile. He asked me to get in line... I waited maybe 4 minutes before being helped by a staff member behind the counter. I told him right away if I have enough time with a meeting at 4pm. He assured me it was enough time and sure enough I was out the door with what I needed with a few minutes to spare. Their 4G service can't be beat in Sydney and their pre-paid SIM card is excellent also. Go Telstra! read more

They disconnected our fully paid service without consent. Shop service Great but Computers DOWN AGAIN. Phone Service could not be worse. Systems always playing up causing consumer to literally hours of phone time with no real action of improvement taken by TELSTRA. Whilst Reception and Signal is fast and exceptional, their customer service and internal systems are an absolute mess filled with errors. Log-in issues to Telstra ID, breaking or incorrect re-routing of links, and log-in issues, as well, the forced disconnections with services without customer consent (bills paid), with lack of ability for customer service to correct matters efficiently will make even a buddhist monk or Priest cringe with frustration. Is this really just absolute utter incompetency or do thy do it on purpose to frustrate the user and waste customer's valuable time? It certainly makes one wonder how a company can just do what ever they want without taking any real responsibility for their actions. 1-3 hours on the phone each time with No real improvement or action taken. No Action taken by Gov or Watchdogs (Fluff to make people think action is being taken) despite having years of user experience and real customer's negative feed back as hard evidence to serve to the company. Neither ACCC nor the ombudsman hold any power (if they do they are not exercising it!) nor any action is taken to hold companies such as Telstra accountable for the pure show white negligence. read more

It's hard to compete with Apple when it comes to in-store customer service, especially when you're a telco, but this is where Telstra have set the bar for themselves and they have made vast improvements in recent times. Greeters immediately approached me upon entry to the store, and a customer service agent helped me without a booking all the way to resolution. Took about 30 minutes to resolve an issue and they stuck with it even though they had technical difficulties, and the agent gave me their contact details with individual email address for any follow up I may require. Congrats Telstra - this proves a telco can do it! read more

I really don't like the attitude in Telstra store Sydney! The people behind the tech bar have this "I care not" rather insincere attitude. The Apple Store across the road from it is miles ahead in coming across as sincere. The service time is equally shocking. The elements of an Apple store is there but this is superficial. 2 friends of mine acquired broadband internet at this store and highly recommended I speak to a gentleman named Brendan as he was able to connect their NBN services after many hassles speaking to other store consultants and even managers. In May 2017, I emailed the store requested assistance from Brendan as I too have had trouble connecting NBN fixed wireless through Telstra. Unfortunately Brendan is not with Telstra anymore so I was referred to multiple staff around the store. At this point I should I given up with this useless store. Their so called 'bundles specialist' has limited knowledge about the NBN and could not provide a solution. It is clear that their is little to no training within Telstra and they do not care about the customer at all. Over this weekend I was able to call another provider who has sorted my issue already. I rang the Telstra shop at 400 George St to sign up to a home cable bundle. On the 4 occasions that i called the store at different points during the day, I was hung up on before I got to speak to anyone. Very rude service from Telstra. Phone support was unable to help me when it came to cable, so I had to go with another provider! read more

As always worst customer service ever. Walked in to get 2 prepaid simcards, the welcome girls with their iPads don't know anything and just told me to queue up on another counter. Waited 10mims and walked out. What a joke I just wanted to have a simcard but obviously they only care about customers signing up for one of their overpriced contracts. FAIL! read more

My phone was not working correctly anymore after a fall. For some strange reason my warranty is void and they want to charge $122 for the repair. The staff member was very unhelpful and the technician couldn't be bothered to come out and speak to me. I then was told they would swap the phone at no cost, made me sign a repair request form and when I asked why was told this is a standard form even if they swap the phone. Next thing is I receive a phone call from someone in Melbourne telling me that I have to pay $122 if I want the phone back. Trying to ring the store is hopeless - they are always busy...Supposedly if you leave your phone number they will ring you back before closing time ... and pigs fly. read more
