I tried this service. The sitter showed up to our door 1-late and 2- drunk, literally carrying a plastic cup of red wine in her hand. I said to her, "is that wine? Have you been drinking?" She said "only a bit, it's gallery opening night, so I stopped by some art galleries on my way here." I said, "I don't feel comfortable having you watch my child if you've been drinking." She said "how old is your kid? 6? He'll be fine!" I told her to wait outside while I called the agency. No one answered so I left them a voicemail. Then I came back out and said "listen, this isn't going to work for me." She got angry and yelled at me, "this isn't how we do things here in Telluride!" The agency called me back after she left and were very apologetic, but couldn't find a last minute replacement sitter so my plans were ruined. Regarding the business owners reply: I simply forgot to publish the review. So I'm publishing it now after finding it in my Yelp Drafts folder. She did offer to connect me to another sitter another night, but I did not need a sitter another night. read more

We were planning our annual ski trip to telluride & I started thinking about how me & my little one would be inside by the cozy fire for the majority of the time while everyone else enjoyed skiing/snowboarding. As content as I would have been I knew my 7 month old was not going to happy relaxing & doing nothing. If you have a baby you know traveling light isn't much of an option so thinking of traveling with snowboards, lots of toys & clothes I couldn't imagine trying to carry the pack n play for her to sleep in. Not to mention the rock n play which she naps in, the kick n play piano, the walker, & last but absolutely NOT least the jumper. So I began wondering what in the world I was going to do to keep her entertained all day long. I found telluride sitters not for the babysitting but for the rentals. We rented a crib, walker, jumper, play mat, & a baby bath. My LO's eyes lit up when we walked in and she saw the jump jump. The baby bath also was a lifesaver bc our room only had a shower. We were able to fill the baby bath up in the shower and it worked out perfectly. I placed my initial order about a week before our trip and Lindsay made everything very easy. Everything was right there waiting for us when we arrived! My MIL couldn't stop talking about how great it was to be able to rent all of these for my baby girl and for very reasonable prices. Lindsay told me beforehand the baby bath was cleaned with bleach & the crib mattress had clean sheets. I highly recommend using telluride sitters for baby rentals. I knew going in that I would write a review (good or bad) bc I myself wanted to hear how others experiences with them went. And I was not disappointed. My wife and I used Telluride Sitters for 2 nights of our recent, first time Telluride visit attending the Bluegrass Festival. Lindsay of Telluride Sitters was helpful and friendly via email and phone. It did take a bit of back and forth emails to organize. I did have to re-send 1-2 emails more than once. Had reviews from local tour operators and yelp not been so strongly in favor of this company I may have been concerned. But the company totally came through. Abby, our sitter, was right on time both nights. She was super responsive via text messages. At 3 and 5 years old, my kids are easy going kids, but sometimes clingy upon leaving them with baby sitters... shedding a few tears as we leavebefore they get settled. Somehow, Abby just totally set them at easy right away. They seemed to feel comfortable and more than on with her putting them to bed for two nights. Abby even brought some of her own books to read to the kids, which was really a sweet welcome. And even after we used her services, she reached out to us on teh festival fairgrounds to say hi and bye to our kids one last time giving them a little going away present. It was reassuring to know kids were looked after and Abby responded quickly to all our texts while we were out on the town. I would use again if in Telluride. read more

It was our first time leaving our 7-month old with a sitter, and they were accommodating and got us the same person for both nights, Stacy O. She was on time, super helpful, and felt comfortable with our little one which goes a long way when you are away from home in an unfamiliar environment. We recently vacationed in Telluride CO. Our children range in ages from 10 months to 8 years old. I contacted the company who we rented the condo from and they gave me 2 options to rent a crib, high chair and stroller but recommended Telluride Sitters. I will never use this company again and completely advise others to stay clear of them. The crib linens looked like they had been purchased from a yard sale, they were faded and stained. The high chair had food stuck on it. I was so disgusted! When I called to order I asked about the other company and was told they were not reputable. I later learned that I should have called the other company! Bottom line is that I would not ever recommend Telluride Sitters. read more

I had a terrific experience with Telluride Sitters. We rented baby furniture and toys for our 1 week stay which were essential. When I realized our stroller would not make it through the snow Lindsay arranged to have one we could rent delivered the next day and it was a dream, we were able to go everywhere. In addition the sitter we hired was fantastic, we used her twice and she was able to keep up with our energetic toddler. When we come back to Telluride we will definitely call on them again. Telluride Sitters is likely a fine company but I'd advise parents to check out how many kids are signed up for the Kids Night Out before you pay. I recently paid in advance - didn't know you could do drop in as they don't advertise that - and showed up to see not a single other child signed up. Not much fun for a kid to hang out with sitters when the point was to play with other kids. I didn't leave my son as he was horrified about being left with just the sitters. I emailed Lindsay and she has a strict no refund policy and was not nice about it. I paid $60 for absolutely nothing. I would understand having to pay if we cancelled but she didn't produce what she marketed, a kids (plural) night out. If I'd wanted a sitter I would have called the many we use in town. read more
