Loved my stay at the peaks resort and spa!…read more The staff are amazing from valeting your car, taking all your bags up to your room and ski equipment down to the ski valet. If you're looking for a 5 star resort with the literally the best spa in south west Colorado, this is it. The steam room, Roman bath, huge workout facility, and showers with eucalyptus scent makes you never want to leave. The ski in/out is just the best being right off 2 different lifts. Really loved the roaring fire and the live music in the lobby to relax. This place is also dog friendly!! So much fun seeing everyone furry family members. I've also stayed in the summer and the access to the golf course is just another huge reason to stay here if you choose MV or Telluride. Can't wait to come back!!

Then one night from 8:30 to 10 the people above us, were making so much noise, stopping around, we had no idea what was going on - finally I called the front desk and they said they'd send security up there. When they called back they said" well they've sold their unit and are packing and moving out." I DONT GIVE A SH*T!!! That's the rudest most inconsiderate thing I've heard!!!! MOVE YOUR CRAP DURING THE DAY, NOT AT NIGHT!!!! It's almost like the front desk was making excuses for them! For $500 per night no one would appreciate that! We'll never stay there again.

There is a lot to like about this…read moreproperty, but unfortunately, the valet situation and several other service issues significantly affected our stay. CONS AVOID THE VALET!!! My vehicle was moved several times during our short four-night stay despite my specifically requesting that it not be driven, and we received conflicting information from staff about the hotel's valet policies. 9/24, noon: I accepted a valet parking spot next to the main entrance. Valet "N" told me that my 2026 Honda Passport SUV could remain there for the duration of our four-day stay. I specifically told him that I did not want anyone driving the vehicle, and he confirmed this. 9/24, approximately 2:00 p.m.: After returning from lunch, I discovered that my vehicle had been moved to another parking space. 9/24, approximately 4:30 p.m.: I then discovered that my vehicle had been moved yet again, this time to a location unknown to me. I spoke with valet "A," who explained that they had to move it. I was then told that my brand new $56,000 vehicle was not considered "high-end" enough to remain parked near the main entrance because of company policy. Valet "A" subsequently told me he would keep the vehicle in the front parking spot for the remainder of our stay. I thanked him and gave him a $40 cash tip. 9/25, morning: My SUV had once again been moved to an unknown location. Management also told me that unless a vehicle is valued at approximately $76,000 or more, it is considered non-luxury and cannot remain parked near the main entrance, which I was told is a policy established by the GM. Even more concerning, an employee told me that valet staff may occasionally use a guest's vehicle to drive between the Lodge and the Market Station garage, with which the Lodge partners, rather than walk over while retrieving another guest's valeted vehicle. If accurate, I find that completely unacceptable. If I ever stay here again, I will absolutely avoid the valet and park my own vehicle at the public Market Station gondola garage. Restaurant and bar closed for private event During one night of our stay, the entire restaurant and bar were closed for a private event--a wedding rehearsal dinner. This was not disclosed when we booked our stay. When I questioned upper management, I was told that the closure resulted from a last-minute decision due to an emergency. However, two staff members separately told me that events of this type normally require a minimum of five months to reserve. At the very least, the explanations we received were inconsistent. Poor sound insulation between rooms Our junior suite had a locked interior connecting door to the adjoining room. Unfortunately, the door provided very little sound insulation, and we could easily hear our neighbors. Refrigerator maintenance problem The refrigerator in our suite was running at or above 40°F and displayed a "Vacuum Condenser" warning. I notified the front desk, and staff took notes. The following day, maintenance left a note stating that the fan had been checked. Unfortunately, that did not correct the problem. I subsequently emailed the manager but never received a reply. Maintenance did call me the next day to ask about the refrigerator temperature, and I explained that it was still too warm for me to safely store our food. I ultimately threw away a large, newly purchased salad from the restaurant. I also looked at the condenser and found it heavily covered with dust and lint--approximately 50% obstructed. It appeared to be badly overdue for cleaning. See photo. Other issues At breakfast on 9/25, they were out of orange juice. Not a major issue by itself, but surprising for a property at this level. My to-go burger order was also incorrect; I initially received someone else's order. Staff corrected the mistake promptly, but although I had specifically ordered my burger well-done, the replacement was medium-rare. PROS There were several things we genuinely enjoyed. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and professional, and the food was creative and delicious. The Village Omelet at breakfast was outstanding. The Lodge itself is stunning, and our junior suite was large, beautiful, and exceeded our expectations. It was located just a short walk down the driveway from the main lodge. The location is also excellent. Finally, Santiago in valet deserves special recognition. He was a total professional and stood out as an excellent employee. BOTTOM LINE Mountain Lodge Telluride is a beautiful property with excellent food, an impressive setting, and some very good employees. Unfortunately, the repeated movement of my vehicle after I had specifically requested that it not be driven, along with conflicting explanations about valet policies, overshadowed much of the experience. For a property at this level, I expect clear and consistent policies, accurate communica

August 9, 2026 - Telluride & Mountain Village, CO…read more Free! During the summer, the gondola is free--and it's pet-friendly. So really, you have no excuse not to enjoy this wonderful experience! The views are amazing, and it wasn't crowded at all, so we had a gondola car to ourselves. Look for the paw prints on the side--every other gondola is pet-friendly. We started at Mountain Village rather than Telluride because there's a free parking lot there during the summer. There are four stations, so you can make the ride as much of an adventure as you'd like. From Mountain Plaza, we rode to Mountain Village Center and walked around for a bit. Then we continued to San Sophia, where we hopped off--only to discover that this station is primarily a jumping-off point for hiking trails. Oops! Back on the gondola we went, continuing to the Telluride Station. After exploring Telluride and having lunch, we rode back up to Mountain Village, where we visited a brewery and then settled in outside to enjoy some live music. When we were ready to head back, it was an easy gondola ride to Market Plaza, where our car was parked. Amazing views, fun destinations, dog-friendly, and FREE. What more could you ask for? This is one of the best travel bargains you will find.

If you want to make a round trip, you'll need to get off at the station and rejoin the line to head back. The gondola moves continuously, so the line goes quickly--we never had to wait long. We got off at the top, walked around for a bit, grabbed a drink, and then rode back down. The ride is a little faster than you might expect, but it's smooth and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Another huge plus is that it's pet friendly, so we were able to bring Luna along with us. Whether you're using it for transportation or just taking it for the views, it's one of the best free attractions in Telluride.

Telluride Cubs Camp…read more I find it extremely interesting that there is nowhere on the internet to leave a review of Telluride Cubs camp specifically. We paid for two days of care at $310/day. One day of childcare in telluride is 2 weeks of child care where we live. When I dropped off the first day, they didn't want to know anything about my child and his needs. They just wanted me to drop him off with zero instruction. I witnessed the director rolling her eyes at another mother giving her the info she felt was necessary for her child. Anyway, when I picked my 15 month old up he was extremely fussy and unmanageable. I was told he ate good and slept good But when we got home, I've never seen him so unhappy and hungry. I got zero information on his day, what he ate, did or if he used the bathroom. Again, for this price, I'd expect a report, similar to what ski school provides. The second day I dropped him off they just flat out would not take him. They had 2 kids that I could tell there and told me they have a strict 9:30 drop off policy (It was 9:50). I'm sorry but for that price, you should take them any time the parent needs. When traveling with kids used to a different time zone, making it to mountains village by 9:30 can be extremely difficult when you're not staying there and focused on getting other kids ready. not to mention, NO WHERE on the internet is this drop off time mentioned. In fact, summer drop off is mentioned to be between 9:00-10:00, in which case we would have been on time. We will NEVER use them again. Save your money and book telluride sitters for half the price!!
